well AmazonUS have DEFINITELY got info regarding the Lion of Orlais shield and Fadeshear sword up, and we've been informed time and time again that pre-orders of the SIG edition will also get those. So AmazonUS has no excuse whatsoever not to be handing out the two bonus items.

Im hoping the various other retailers will result in a similar situation to Fnac, which was recently updated saying that they WILL be getting the promo items, they just didn't know about them at first.

so the signature edition even from amazon.co.uk contains those two items?

No. I just said we've been told time and again it does. Chris Priestly confirmed via PM to someone that the codes for the two bonus items are NOT in the box.

So far AmazonUK have replied to various enquiries saying there will be no additional content. Whether this is because they have purposefully "opted out" of the promotion, or because they didn't know about the promotion in the first place, has still to be made clear.

Im hoping its the latter and that they can rectify the situation and offer their customers the promo codes.

Currently as it stands if you pre-ordered the SIG edition from AmazonUK you will not be getting the Fadeshear or Lion of Orlais which you (all of us) were told we were getting.

No. Amazon.uk does not offer the items. AmazonUS does. The employee that told the guy otherwise was most likely mistaken, as i do think there are laws preventing the advertisement of something they do not intend on offering.

I contacted Amazon UK again as their original reply was wholly unsatisfactory. I received this response four hours ago:

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk with your enquiry.

My name is Yousuf and I work in the Customer Escalation Team.

I understand from our message that there is a pre-order promotion running out all over on "Dragon Age 2 (PC DVD)" but Amazon.co.uk is not  a participant for this promotion as of yet.

I have now contacted our Marketing and Business team regarding this promotion and explained them about the situation, so that this promotion should also be listed on our website., and provide our customers a best deal.

I will contact you again by February 05, 2011 with an update from the concerned department.

Thank you for your patience and for bringing this matter to our attention.

A pity he wasn't aware that I'm actually down for the 360 version... but this at least this sounds slightly more promising. I'll wait and see what he has to say on Saturday before getting too excited, though...

Best news so far. Well done Uncanny, it seems you have succeeded (at least partially) where many have failed.

Awww.  Thanks guys! ^_^

Like I said, I won't be holding my breath until I hear what he actually has to say... but it's a ****** of light at least.

I think you get nowhere with these people unless you keep biting and scratching at them until you become a major headache...

ok so I emailed them a second time and this is what they have got to say:

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

From your email, I understand that you wish to know if we are currently issuing any promotion on preorder of "Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (Xbox 360)".

I am sorry to inform you that currently we do not have any promotion on this game.

If you have seen a Pre-Order Promotion on a Video Game product sold on another website, possibly even Amazon.com, Amazon.fr or Amazon.de, but do not see the same offer listed on Amazon.co.uk, it means that the Promotion is not available on Amazon.co.uk.

For details on all our current Pre-Order Promotions, you can find the information at the following URL:

http://www.amazon.co...ocId=1000299573

We are always seeking ways to improve the customer experience of shopping on Amazon.co.uk, but we regret we cannot tell customers about any offers that may be available at a future time.

Thank you for choosing to shop at Amazon.co.uk

I don't know what they are doing, that is practically the same response The Uncanny received one day ago (few pages back in this thread:)

I've only just become aware of this issue, and I must say Amazon have dropped the ball on this. Looks like Game may now be receiving my pre-order unless they pull their finger out.

Did you pre-order the Signature Edition?

That's not really the point, it's the principle.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about the items, but they were promised to me so I want them.

I'm still holding out for a positive reply from Yousuf to The Uncanny. All the other replies just seem to be automated responses, thus have no actual knowledge of the situation.

Its more the principle, although a shield that gives an exp bonus i can imagine will be helpful at least in the early stages of the game, levelling you up more quickly.

Yes. I (Hawke) will not be seen dead carrying around that monstrosity they call a shield. But the principle stands. It's mine, I want it!

the black emporium is included in every new copy (like me2 cerberus network), so that's not really anything special. I don't really care about the shield, but the sword sounds awesome. Would hate to miss that.

I think the point is that we don't see why we should miss out through no fault of our own.

Exactly. Everyone that pre-orders was promised it, therefore everyone that pre-orders should get it. Simple as that.
BioWare can blame retailers all they like, but it's BioWare's mess to sort out at the end of the day.

But Yousuf said while grinning "Me be Yousuf, me say no pre-order."
Also Chris Priestly said that the sword and shield are not included at all. Even if someone bribed Yousuf to say "Me be Yousuf, me say pre-order bonuses now included. Ha ha ha ha! Me be Yousuf - warrior of the darkness!!!" it sounds like they won't be.

I also admit that the sword sounds good and I am one who also pre-ordered the SE from Amazon.co.uk and I don't see why these codes shouldn't be included. If Priestly's post is anything to go by, then Amazon.co.uk decided they didn't want these pre-order bonuses to be included which is really an Epic Fail IMO.

Heh, that actually sounds promising. Maybe they got enough complaints to escalate it and trying to do something about it for real. Keep us posted?

If Yousuf's reply is anything to go by then AmazonUK didn't know about the promotion to begin with. Priestly's post implies that Amazon didn't want to be a part of it. Because their name wasn't on the list. But their name wasn't on the list because no one told them they could put it on the list. That;s the vibe im getting.

It goes to the "Escalation team"  (AKAPosted Image) when you report that your first response from the automated copy and paste drone wasn't good enough, and a person actually reads (to some extent) what you have written and tries to provide something beyond the standard solution.

As soon as I hear anything back, the first thing I'll do is post it here.
