I don't suppose anyone has heard anything about GAME.co.uk? as while they have the pre-order bonuses for both the PS3 and the 360, they don't for the PC, which is kinda annoying as I've pre-ordered the PC version from GAME Image IPB

@Chaia

When I emailed Game UK they didn't seem to know about what I was asking about (the sword and shield) and it sort of has me a bit worried as I pre ordered the PC verision back in Oct 10

I was assuming download codes for these items would be inside the box which is why Amazon would know nothing about it...

Hopefully we'll hear back from Chris soon.

The DLC would likely be in the box, just like all of the other Day 1 DLC Bioware has put out. There would be no participation on their part, nor would any disinterested employee be aware of this in-the-box bonus. I think this will very likely be much ado about nothing.

Maybe for the SE? The regular edition on Amazon.com (not .co.uk) at least specifies bonus codes will be sent via email, unless that's just wrong.

I'm just guessing here, but yes I'd say it's wrong. All Day 1 DLC form the original DAO (and even ME2) whether SE or Vanilla Version has come with the code in the box . It would seem counter-productive to needlessly complicate that by including hundreds of distributers in the process, especially via email.

Hmmm... I do hope I get the day 1 DLC stuff (I have preordered the SE from amazon.co.uk)...I can't see them unpacking the shipped boxes and removing the codes, as surely the codes are packaged before shipping?

I received the code for the "Dalish Promise Ring" via email from game.co.uk. Several weeks after it's release unfortunately.

Edit: Typo

Right, but that was vendor specific I'm guessing? Since it wasn't available on all versions. So far all of the Day 1 DLC (whether we are talking SE or vanilla version) is across the board, except for the belt from ordering direct from Bioware. So the codes should be in box.

I think your logic is a little wrong. The main Black Emporium items (Mabari, mirror, stores) will be in the box; it's DLC included for people buying the game *new*, like with the Stone Prisoner. But what we are talking about are the pre-order bonuses, which are the (far less important) sword and shield.

I highly doubt a pre-order bonus will be included in the box, despite multiple people in this thread claiming as much. I agree, and I restate, the core Black Emporium DLC *will* be in the box (most likely, anyway).

Think about it - the bonus is available up until 8th March. Bioware are not going to have specific numbers stating how many people pre-ordered the game precisely at that point. Thus they will not know exactly how many retail boxes need to include a pre-order bonus key, let alone have the time to organise it.

I very possibly could be wrong, again, just guessing here. However it would be far simpler and less labour intensive to put all pre-order dlc in box for a specific period of time, and easy enough to have an abundance of pre-order copies and let it continue as an "early bird bonus" while supplies last.

Also, if you look at their pre-order page: http://www.dragonage...da2/info/order/ you'll notice that the "original purchaser" extras are listed on the same form as the pre-order extras.

Who knows though. Either way I wish someone at Bioware would confirm how we receive it, so we will know whether we need to ask for it at the counter and/or get things lined up with the online distributers.

I'm hoping we'll be OK, due to what Chris said below:

Chris Priestly wrote...

The Lion of Orlais shield and the Fadeshear sword will be oonly available to players who pre-order Dragon Age II before launch. They are included in the Signature Edition.

'Tis true, what you say.

Either way, I figure they should be including everything in the Sig Ed by default. It is, after all, guaranteed to be a pre-order. Would be nice for the regular pre-order customers to have some reassurance that their early investment is being rewarded, though.

For a moment I thought you meant amazon.co.uk don't support signature edition anymore. I almost started panicking.

Amazon.com (US Amazon) are very good at advertising their promotions, such as pre-order bonuses. This is what lead to my initial concern and eventual communication with Amazon.co.uk's customer support team.

Point of interest... just noticed this on Amazon.com's DA2 page:

A code to access the bonus content will be e-mailed within two days after your order ships. Existing pre-orders of Bioware Signature Edition will automatically qualify for this offer.
