The Day 1 DLC in that case refers to The Exiled Prince and The Black Emporium.S Atomeha wrote...

Yes, it is. I edited my post to say that after too, but for some reason the post wasn't updated.Victia wrote...
Surely day one dlc also means the black emporium - thats in the box too isn't it?

On the other hand, I'm disappointed with Bioware's response, or lack thereof. I mean, for close on 10 pages of posts we haven't seen one official Bioware poster chime in with even a "Hey, you guys really got boned. Condolences." Which seems like a natural thing, even if there is no fault on their part (its like the order came from on high to ignore us or something).

so everyone's gonna miss the sword and shield if they ordered in the uk?
Looks like. Unless Amazon change their mind about opting in (and if EA will allow that at this stage) or Bioware finds it in their hearts to provide them to those who pre-ordered the SE without knowing it was a retailer specific offer.

Though Chris said on page 5 of this thread that Amazon had chosen to opt out of this offer (whether that's the case or they weren't informed of it is up for grabs), so in that sense it would be retailer specific to those companies who accepted to run the promotion.

While it has never been said in those exact words, but reading between the lines a fair few UK retailers had no idea there was even a promotion (or at least, their support staff did not know about it).S Atomeha wrote...
I don't see where it says retailer specific.
Various retailers have confirmed that they are not participating in it - and BioWare has confirmed they are not in the box - which unfortunately conflicts with what they said originally.

Amazon's not exactly been that informative but atleast their offical word is that they are working on it.
This whole thing is getting somewhat tiresome.
Has anybody actually gotten a reply from Bioware or EA on this issue? If they haven't that is really crap PR imo.

Hello,
Thank you for your message.
Unfortunately, we are not a part of this promotion.
I apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.

Superb. This is definitely incentive to keep me from pre-ordering next time. Seeing as the Signature Edition only recently (last week) became available in our local (Belgian) gamestores, I might as well have waited. Then again, I ordered both the DAII and TW2 SE's from TheHut.com for the price of a single game elsewhere.
I'm conflicted, I want the pretty items, but at the same time I managed to save myself some money.

Not Amazon.co.uk or Game.co.uk related, but the people who've ordered from TheHut.com are also out of luck.

Sorry I'm too tired to go trawling through the thread again but did The Hut give a reason why they aren't part of the promotion? As in opted out or weren't informed?
No, when I asked they simply said "unfortunately we are not doing this".
In my best Sten like impression... No.S Atomeha wrote...
Did Bioware ever give a reason on the change in policy?

BioWare didn't "change" any policies, they simply can't force retailers to support thier DLC items.
