Ah well, could be worse...Amazon could decide to cancel all orders for the SE.
Really? I do not think they can os of now, I seriously hope not. BUt if, by any chance, I will receive some normal edition, with regret I will just wait some Ultimate Edition and send back the normal one. But I do not think they can cancel them, if anything they would lose lots of money and this is reason enough to fulfill the orders

Well crapola, I really wanted that sword. I'm more and more tempted to pre-order elsewhere, even if that means that I won't get the SE. Still, a gesture from Bioware would be nice, as it's clear that at least the SE is a preorder. All SE codes should come naturally with the preorder bonus if there's any logic to it.
Which Amazon did you order from? I know that the American store will get you all the pre-orde items, except the retailer-specific ones like the Irons from Gamestop. It's the UK Amazon that isn't doing the pre-orde items. I'm not sure about Canada.
[EDIT] I just realized that this was the amazon.co.uk thread. Sorry D:

To be fair, I'm pretty sure that page was written waaaaaaaay before Bioware announced those items and never was updated. Still I am worried now. There's no way I'm keeping my Amazon UK preorder if those dlc aren't in it.

Those DLC ARE included, no matter where you order from. The code for them are physically in the box, so retailer I irrelevant.

Still need to see what software will be used to enforce DRM on the boxed version to take a fully informed decision.

Coming up with an excuse like, it's Amazon's choice not Bioware's, that's bull. I've also sent an email to Amazon.co.uk even though it's not up to us to complain, it's up to Bioware to make sure they deliver on what they promise. I love Bioware to bits for their great games and their commitment to players, but that doesn't mean we should just let this slide. It's not right.

I've just sent a rather tart message to Chris Priestly. There is nowhere on the website where it says that the content of the SE is subject to retailers' choice. On Bioware's website it says very clearly: "*If you pre-ordered the BioWare Signature Edition prior to January 12, 2011 you will also receive this bonus content."
OFFER EXPIRES 3/8/2011. CODE EXPIRES DATE 3/31/2012. GOOD ONLY FOR EXISTING PRE-ORDERS AND FOR NEW PURCHASES OF DRAGON AGE II FOR THE PC or XBOX 360 (the "PRODUCT"). Pre-order offer is available to all PS3 players when they purchase and login to the game with a valid EA account prior to May 31, 2011. Valid at participating retailers. Customers who order online will be sent the code via email once the Product releases. Customers who order at a retail store will be given the code WHEN PRODUCT IS PICKED UP. OFFER MAY NOT BE SUBSTITUTED, EXCHANGED, SOLD OR REDEEMED FOR CASH OR OTHER GOODS OR SERVICES. MAY NOT BE COMBINED WITH ANY OTHER OFFER, GIFT CARD, REBATE OR DISCOUNT COUPON. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED, TAXED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW. INTERNET CONNECTION AND EA ACCOUNT REQUIRED. YOU MUST BE 13+. EA MAY RETIRE ONLINE FEATURES AFTER 30 DAYS NOTICE POSTED ON WWW.EA.COM/2/SERVICE-UPDATES. PC PRODUCT REQUIRES ACCEPTANCE OF END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT. If that's the fine print thats on the pre-order page now (and I think it is), thats for the standard DA2 not the SE.......even so nothing on the page tells you which part of the standard DA2 contents are subjected to the 'valid at participating retailers', the same small print could cover Bioware for none of the DLC being in the box.
At this point, I dont actually know whats going to be in the SE box when it arrives.

The Pre-Order offer is only valid at participating retailers. amazon.co.uk is not participating, so you will not get those two items. You are an original purchaser, so you will receive Dog, Mirror and Store. And the SE includes several items, you will get those as well.

" Valid at participating retailers." Amazon is a participating retailer, so it is valid.
http://eu.dragonage....info/pre-order/
This is the page of the signature edition. That warning isn't anwyhere on it, plus it clearly says:
This seems too good to be true, what's the catch?
No catch, we just want to reward our most loyal fans and present them with this special version as a thank you for being an early adopter.
Pre-order bonus page says: Pre-Order Dragon Age II before March 11, 2011 and you will receive access to additional in-game content at no extra cost. This offer is only available till March 11 so pre-order now!
Pre-order before March 11, 2011 and you will receive:
The Lion of Orlais Shield
The Fadeshear Sword
Original purchasers of Dragon Age 2 will receive:
A fighting Mabari War Hound
The Mirror of Transformation
Access to exclusive Magic and Crafting Stores
*If you pre-ordered the BioWare Signature Edition prior to January 12, 2011 you will also receive this bonus content.
It's there, very clearly. You make a promise, you deliver, period.
Edit: the signature edition page also states:
What retailers will be offering the BioWare Signature Edition? The Dragon Age II BioWare Signature will be available at Gamestop, Amazon, Electronics Boutique, and the EA store on October 14th. Other retailers will be following suit and we will offer an updated list at a later time.

What we have on the Bioware website is a list of items that will be included in the signature edition, and a list of retailers that will be selling said SE. What we do not have is any kind of clear statement that some of the SE items are dependant upon the retailer. It's Bioware's responsiblitly to clearly inform customers up front before they buy. Such a company with a marketing department and connections with huge retailers like Amazon shouldn't screw up like this. Bioware didn't even know Amazon wasn't offering the items until people started complaining. Communication: zero. Who gets to clean up the mess? The customers who should just "complain" to Amazon. Sorry, but that's not my job, that's Bioware's.

I know what is officially in the Box.......the problem is last month I officially knew the sword and shield were in the box and there was no mention of anything being subject to participating retailers........sorry, but until the box is my hand with all the codes, I don't know what I'm getting, sadly Bioware have lost a little trust with me.

uh, what? I think you are misunderstanding something.
The Signature Edition contains: Sebastian DLC, Soundtrack and Ingame-Armory (5 Items). All of that is offered by participating retailers. One of which is amazon.co.uk!!!!
There is no question that those items will be included.
Next we have the Emporium (Store), Dog and Mirror, which will be offered to all Original Retailers (EAs 10$ Project to fight second-hand-purchase). This is not dependent on retailer Participation, so again, it will be included in the Sig-Edition.
Last we have Fadeshear and Lion of Orlais, which, once again, will only be offered by participating retailers. Amazon.co.uk, for whatever reason, is NOT in that List. So they will not offer it.
And we were informed before we bought it. Sig-Edition offer ended on January 11th, Fadeshear/Lion were offered for the first time on the 12th. So there should be 0 Costumers who bought the Sig-Edition believing that they would get those two items.
Sorry, but EA/Bioware don't have to do anything about this. Oh, and i ordered there as well, so i would love it if you are right.

Sadly not, but that does not change the fact that those items were revealed after January 12th. So basically, who ordered the SE, could not order it elsewhere. This is the exact reason they had to underline that SE would have those items included anyway. And even if I am wrong and the items were revealed before January 12th, this whole story was not properly explained...if I pre-ordered a Signature, I would expect to receive anyway all the content they advertised. I could understand if they said that the retailer was not partecipating in these offer concerning new pre-orders.
At this point, I will be happy to receive my SE...but still, this was a a bit of a mess and all these pre-order items just complicated things for retailers and EA.

Just wondering if anyone has had any reply what so ever from Bioware (or EA) after the initial announcement that Amazon weren't participating?
I don't think there has ever been an offical announcement, there was just a rash of these types of threads of people finding out that their retailer was not participating and being surprised due to Bioware repeatedly stating on the forum that everybody who ordered the SE was getting all of the DLC.
