That is very strange. Is that a recent thing for Witcher 2? I haven't been to their forums for a while, but didn't they have AmazonUk listed as a supplier of pre-order bonuses at one time?

Now I'm a bit worried since I have the Collector's Edition pre-ordered and have just seen that Amazon are no longer selling it; maybe I'm just feeling a bit twitchy as Game have just cancelled my pre-order of the special edition of Two Worlds 2 for no obvious reason, but now I can't re-order it from them.  And then there's the Fable 3 fiasco as well as the subject at hand.

I rather feel like I'm living in "The Age of Incompetence" at least as far as games marketing is concerned.

As far as i'm aware - They are still listed on the Witcher website as a pre-order participator... though it doesn't say DLC participator, just retailer specific DLC...

Two worlds 2 has had a terrible time releasing the game and they are saying that the only way for us Brits to get the game is through 1 specific retailer, otherwise they'd have to delay the release another couple of weeks. Logistics can be a nightmare...

Amazon have always been great with my orders, ontime or early, cheap and better then accomodating with any and all problems. I can use my nectar points there and have a tonne of codes... for those reasons and those reasons alone i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and keep shopping there. For other things, not DLC dependant releases. I get the impression that someone somewhere made a decision and it's backfiring on them... they'll change their tune soon enough if enough of us made our voices clear. This will escalate with thw Witcher and any other games due with DLC... hopefully get sorted by ME3...

As soon as I hear back from them i'll let you know... Fingers crossed for Monday

Sadly i'll just have to make do with the standard copy and play the stupid micro-transactions game via MS points =/

I'm only going to GAME store as a last resort as i'm pretty sure that tescos will have a special offer on DA2 maybe.

I did a quick search and found a phone number for AmazonUK

http://www.mukaumedi...putation-boost/

Maybe if we all bombarded them with calls asking about the DLC we'll finally find out what's going on.

After witnessing yet another thread about play.com cancelling pre-orders I have to ask, has anyone seen any threads complaining about retailers outside the UK? I haven't seen any at all in all this time. I appreciate that alot of them may be on their own language forums so if anyone in here has been hanging around those forums have you noticed any problems outisde of these UK based retailers? I'm just curious.

My mistake. Sorry. Pre-order, retailer specific - it's all getting very confusing. Looking forward to what Amazon tell you on Monday :) - whether it be good news or not, as long as they do finally set the record straight.

edit: belatedly removed nonsensical rambling :)

Druss - There's a thread now about US Gamestop putting pre-orders down for the wrong platforms. Which is more in-store human error than 'stock issues' or seemingly company-wide lack of knowledge about what they're selling/offering.

I recall when DA:O was being released Gamestop were randomly cancelling people's CE orders, just like Play are doing this time round.

Other than that, I can't honestly say if I've seen threads specific to issues with non-UK retailers.

Ok...I heard back from Amazon and it's not good news on either front... Heres the reply:

"Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

My name is Glenn and I work for the Customer Escalation Team, we were speaking on Thursday.

Further to my research, it appears that we are not currently offering downloadable content for Dragon Age 2. Please allow me to apologise for any inconvenience and confusion caused at this time.

For details on all our current Pre-Order Promotions, you can find the information at the following URL:

http://www.amazon.co...ocId=1000299573

If you have seen a Pre-Order Promotion on a Video Game product sold on another website, possibly even Amazon.com, Amazon.fr or Amazon.de, but do not see the same offer listed on Amazon.co.uk, it means that the Promotion is not available on Amazon.co.uk.

We are always seeking ways to improve the customer experience of shopping on Amazon.co.uk, but we regret we cannot tell customers about any offers that may be available at a future time.

Thank you for your interest in Amazon.co.uk

Same reply alot of you have had... though they now seem to have a page with pre-order bonus information on it, i've never seen that on Amazon before. Sorry its not better news - Still no answer on why they aren't doing it; who made the decision (them or did EA's lack of communication make it for them)... With less then 2 weeks to go I doubt we'll hear from anyone about a solution... looks like we'll have to live with it...

They have had that pre-order bonus page there for quite a while now (months at least, maybe a year or more), so it wasn't created recently as a way to fob us off.

For whatever reason, Amazon.co.uk aren't doing the dlc; that much seems clear. I pretty much doubt that situation will change. As of now, I'll be glad just to receive my pre-ordered SE.

Thanks for the update, Childofbaahl. Guess it was too much to expect them to say anything different. It doesn't look like we're going to get any real answers from them (before the release date at any rate). Has anyone had any luck with EA?

Yes, especially after reading of cancelled SE pre-orders. I regret a little not having ordered at my local Gamestop, but I really couldn't imagine there would be all this bonus content items and retailer-specific...

I tried ordering at my local gamestop but they had no idea what was going on with the S.E. My mates manager in there and he knows his gaming, he understood the concept behind it all but couldn't produce any answers as higher management couldn't give him any answers, which is what forced me to use Amazon in the first place. Whole thing is a disaster in my opinion.

I'm with OBaka and just hoping to get the SE now, I won't believe I'm getting it until its in my hand. Anyone else checking their order on a daily basis just incase?

I PMed Chris a week ago just inquiring whether EA/Bioware were doing anything about it, such as talking to Amazon but he hasn't replied. :(

Thanks for trying, Survivalist. Unfortunately it's unlikely Bioware/EA will do anything as Chris has already said that it was Amazon's decision to opt out of offering the sword and shield. It's just that Amazon so far haven't been very forthcoming in their replies to us.

At this point I think the best that can be hoped for is that Bioware/EA decide to give them to SE owners themselves or release them as DLC (either paid for or for free).

Same for me though I doubt Tesco will have any special offer. Everytime I've been there before they just say that they price match with the other game retailers. They all do so it ends up being the same price everywhere.

Amazon aren't the only ones. Same issue with G2Play, and they only do digital downloads so there's no hope of even finding a code stuffed into the box for me either... Would be great if Bioware could do something about this but at the end of the day once you start playing a missing sword and shield will be out of mind in a minute... Can't wait!

Bit annoyed bout the exiled prince tho... ah well.

Well according to Amazon UK I am still getting the Signature Edition as of 5 minutes ago... that said I'm half expecting them to screw it up at the last minute.

I really feel for those poor sods that have only just been notified that their Signature Edition preorders have been screwed up... maybe Bioware will learn from this and revert back to the tried and trusted Regular & Collector's Editions rather than playing around with half-assed time \\ date dependent versions. All-in-all this appears to be the most poorly managed release Bioware have done!

My SE is still ok at the moment, too.

A lot of the cancellation threads have appeared after the game went gold, so maybe there's been a manufacturing problem? I know Chris has said elsewhere along the lines that all retailers' supplies are being met, but it's just strange that the closer the game gets to release the more those types of threads are turning up.

For the sakes of those who are being told that they're not getting their SEs I hope that it is just miscommunication, like with Play, and they will be getting what they ordered. Amazon better not board that train, though!

Wasn't it Chris that said ALL Signature Edition customers would get Fadeshear & Lion of Orlais? I take everything he says with a grain of salt these days... he would never knowingly mislead us but he seems as guilty as the rest of Bioware in getting carried away with the hype.

Yes, but he said that he didn't know about this issue with Amazon until it was brought up, and then checked with EA's European/UK team and reported back. I think he had to check with higher ups with the Play debacle as well?

He's only been passing on to us what EA are telling him as far as I can tell, so I don't blame him on that score. That said, with all that's happening with this SE it's going to be hard to take any initial announcements at face value in the future.

well the rule is, always read the fine print. If the devs post something with a Link to the mainpage, always study the mainpage.

Me too. I've used Amazon quite happily for years, but when they go out of stock or have a pre-order issue, they are terrible with advance communication, in my experience... day or two's warning. I'm only going to be happy when I hear it's on the road (by courier!)

Not that I meant to scaremonger! Let's think positive... and if they screw up, well, we have Captain Crash's excellent example to follow on whose ass needs kicking (re: Play probs).

So it looks like those two items are Game and Gamestation only: http://eu.dragonage....extra/?id=15433

Basically, anyone who preorders a special edition runs the risk of getting shafted, then. Not the best way to run things, EA. Should have made the information on who would be offering what bonuses available long before any deadlines had passed, and Bioware needs to be more careful about not making us any false promises.

Surely the decent thing would be for EA/Bioware come up with a solution, while it's debatable who's fault this is, it is clear that reputations have been damaged. It would seem like a good move from EA's point of view to offer the dlc some other way (which is clearly possible).
