I emailed them and I got this back (which pissed me off even more): x.x

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk
From your e-mail, I do understand that your concern regarding the bonus items for the pre orders item "Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (PC DVD)".

I understand that you would like to know "pre-orders will get two bonus items" about the product "Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (PC DVD)"

I am sorry that there is no further information available, other than that described on the detail page on our website for this product.

I asked you to wait until the order gets available on our website.

If you have any other questions please contact us using the link below.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/contact-us/general-questions.html

Thank you for your interest in Amazon.co.uk

That's not really helping.. 'wait until the order gets available on our website'... They kind of missed the point about the SE. >>"

That e-mail reply sounds completely automated or at the very least copied and pasted :(

This kinda sucks, I ordered mine from Amazon as well. Ah well. At least we get the rest of the goodies.

Just missing out on them is not acceptable to me. I hope the issue gets resolved either by the retailer or by Bioware.

ahhhh...

Bless Direct2Drive. Always on par with pre-orders, special editions, collector's blabla and best of all: all digital. No box, no paper, no discs, and always a backup handy for download.

Sorry guys & gals, just had to poke a stick in your envious eyes. I do feel bad for those that went with Amazon UK. I will keep my fingers crossed for all those who pre-ordered there that enough complaints may change their stance on those two items.

Yeah, in principle it annoys me as well but in reality I think the shield is ugly and I probably would have forgotten I even had the sword so beyond the principle I'm not really that bothered. I will join in on a mass complaint though, just so I can put my disgruntled customer skills to work B)

If the SE is not in production yet, there is still the option to put Fadeshear & Lion of Orlais codes into the box so at least those who pre-ordered very early can benefit from them no matter which retailer they bought from. It's not a perfect solution, but better than what we have now. It would be best to avoid this kind of preorder confusion in the future.

All those who ordered the regular edition can cancel their order and switch the retailer, after all...

This!

It is the principle that is buggin me, the items were promised to the people who pre-ordered and now we won't get them because Amazon has some weird reason not to participate (I still want to know what the reason is).

And I would have liked a normal email and not an email that was 'copy-pasted'  by a three year old, seriously the first time I read it my thoughts were 'what are you saying exactly?'.

The only reason I'm not cancelling my pre-order is because of the free DLC that comes with the SE.

Email received from Amazon

I have checked up your order and viewed the information on our website regarding 'Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (Xbox 360)' and can confirm that currently we are not running any promotion for this item.

From your email I understand that on Bioware website you can see that you will receive 'Fadeshear and the Lion of Orlais' when pre-order 'Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (Xbox 360)'. I have investigate it and recommend that you place the order through Bioware to be eligible for this promotion: http://dragonage.bioware.com/da2/info/

So I and other Amazon customers ordered the SE and we don't even get the bonus items. Not at all happy with Amazon.

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk regarding your order for "Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (PC DVD)".

From your email, I understand that you would like to know whether you will receive the bonus items "Fadeshear" and "Lion of Orlais" on the item "Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (PC DVD)" or not.

I have checked your order and can see that this item is on pre-order and will be released on March 11, 2011.

Please note that the release date is subject to change. As soon as we are informed of any changes to this date, we will update the website accordingly.

We will receive this item from our suppliers in time for the release date. As per our standard policy, we do not charge you for an order until the time of dispatch.

Regarding the bonus on this item:

Since the item is currently not with us and are waiting to receive them from supplier by the time of release, we don’t have any further information about the product or bonus items. I request you to please write back to us once this order gets dispatched so that we can investigate with the appropriate department about this bonus and will issue the bonus codes.

Well here's my reply from Amazon.

I wouldn't have been as angry about this if I had been contacted by Amazon UK, to say that they wouldn't be participating in this offer (I'd sill have been very, very annoyed, of course).

If Chis hadn't checked nobody would have known about this until after the game had arrived and been unsealed ((afaik) in the UK once a PC game has been opened it can't be returned unless the CD has sustained damage during delivery).

If anyone's interested, that's what they replied to me.

"Dear Customer,

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

I do understand that you are expecting to receive the Bonus items with this product "Dragon Age 2 - Signature Edition (PC DVD)".

On checking our website, I can see that currently there is no information about the bonus item for this product.

For details on all our current Pre-Order Promotions, you can find the information at the following URL:

http://www.amazon.co...ocId=1000299573

If you have seen a Pre-Order Promotion on a Video Game product sold on another website, but do not see the same offer listed on Amazon.co.uk, it means that the Promotion is not available on Amazon.co.uk.

Customer feedback like yours helps us continue to improve the selection and service we provide, and we appreciate the time you took to contact us.

Thank you for your interest in Amazon.co.uk."

I recieved EXACTLY the same email. Which angers me even more. Absolutely no commitment to customer support.

Is this affecting sales from amazon in the US as well?

I'm really going to be pissed if I don't get these items when I was told they would be available with the SE.  This is also Bioware/EA's fault.

A suggestion to Bioware/EA, make bonus items such as this available from your stores alone and not allow all retailers the option of special bonus items in ordering from them.  Everybody gets the same deal where outside retailers are concerned.

Bioware/EA can correct this mistake with the codes for these items to be included in the box.  This is the only fair thing to do.  Another screw up just like the staff, plus another option would be allowing them to be promotional items when you register your game.

i'm in portugal but since we don't have our own amazon branch i had to use the uk one since games sold in here anyway are usually the UK version.

This is one of the reasons why we feel so up in arms about it. We weren't given the option to go elsewhere. If they had announced they would not be including the promo content BEFORE the deadline date then we could have cancelled our order and taken our custom elsewhere.

Have you posted in the Amazon UK forum topic? And sent them an email? More attention we can garner the better.

I'm not happy to find I've been screwed out of a couple of DLC items.....

Bioware said that these Items came with the SE, and repeatedly confirmed that fact.....hopefully amazon.co.uk will pull their finger out and sort out why content is being removed from an advertised product, but this shouldn't even be possible.....why do these two items need to come through the retailer anyway if everything else comes in box (either on disc or as DLC codes)?

My pre-order was based on what both Bioware and Amazon.co.uk advertised the contents of the SE version of the game to be, now both Bioware and Amazon.co.uk have removed those details along with the content and I am not particularly happy with either of them.

Wow, that sucks.  Come to think on it, when I placed my order I don't recall the items for the Fadeshear and Shield of Orlai being part of my order.  The other dlc that was original to the SE was.  I ordered through amazon US.

The items come with all orders placed before the 8th of March, so it is not only SE-specific.
They could probably add the codes in the SE boxes (and I hope they do, but I doubt it), but with the regular versions ordered before the 8th of March it is a different story...

Hopefully they will fix this one way or another, I expect Amazon to fix it and if they don't, I really hope that bioware gives us a chance to redeem the items by filling in our SE-codes on the site or something.. ah well, we will see. ^^'

Can't say I am very happy about this, at all. *Sigh* Considering BioWare said they were included with the SE - at best that's misleading, at worst false advertising.

I expect EA support will be getting a barrage of complaints from those that ordered the SE from a retailer not participating in the pre-order promotions, read that they were included and then found out they were not when it arrived.

Why BioWare/EA didn't think "Hmm, the SE is a guaranteed pre-order, I know, let's include the pre-order items" I will never understand.

Oh well, at least I still have Ser Isacc's armor and the SE digital armoury "exclusive" (apparently to be sold as DLC later...) items.
