I just bought the steam version of nwn2 and it won't let me connect to gamespy. I have disabled my windows firewall and rebooted twice and I can't think of anything else to do. I have played the single player and LAN games easilly but I can't figure out how to play with online servers.

Your not trying to use gamespy arcade are you? I just tested my connection and it worked. Make sure you log in in the multiplayer in game.

Are you using a router? If so, try bypassing it and see if that works.
If it does, you need to open/forward ports on your router.

I just bypassed the router and plugged right into the modem. When I restarted the game I receieved the same error.

Usually, if a connection to the GameSpy authentication server is, for whatever reason, not available, you get the notification that "some services may not be available" but a partial list of servers still gets populated.
Do you get this at all?
Also, try creating a new ID/password and see if it goes through.
What you are describing, if there's nothing preventing your connection from conversing with GS, is extremely out of the ordinary.
