Putting aside all theories of marketing hype or whatever, if Ray's finished DA2 from start to finish, that means the game is ready to go and is in QA now. That means we have at least a month of QA before release.

You mean Ray "Shepard-is-predefined-character-when-it's-convenient" Muzyka liked his company's game? Shocked I am.

I bet he has a Marketing background. Was that too harsh?

If by marketing you mean medicine, yes, that's his background. Remember, we are talking about a company called Bioware. Though how they ended up making games is beyond me.

Who's Ray Muzyka?

Muzyka co-founded BioWare in 1995 with the other co-founder and VP of BioWare, Greg Zeschuk, after they earned their medical degrees at the University of Alberta. After selling BioWare to Electronic Arts in 2008, Muzyka became a General Manager and Vice President at EA in addition to his General Manager/CEO role at BioWare, and subsequently became a Senior Vice President and Group General Manager at EA

Awesome wikipedia pasting.

Awesome powers of observation....also you're ability to state the obvious is awsomely awesome...

I guess you didn't pay attention to the witchers story.

Because it was REALLY good. Im not sure how you will react to dragon age 2.

It's not surprising that he loves it. What's surprising to me, is that he still makes time to play games. Can playing your company's games be considered work?

I wish I knew what the Witcher story was about. Unfortunatley I couldn't really get into it due to the awful combat. I'm hoping the combat is different for Withcer 2

Well, he's not going to say otherwise, obviously, but I guess that's still good-ish news. :)

No, but if he thought otherwise he wouldn't have twittered about it, he'd be raining down hellfire upon the dev team (or whatever Dr. Muzyka does when he's not happy).  He sounds happy, though, and that's good.

Of course it is. He has to make sure what his employees are doing all day. So it is his job to play the game.

Well, he could be lying or exaggerating, but why would he? It's Bioware! When did they last make a game that wasn't great? (Sonic Chronicles does not count)

Ray plays pretty much every Bioware game at varying phases of creation, as does Greg. When possible, we also solicit feedback from other senior staff; if I can get notes from Preston Watamaniuk and James Ohlen on one of my games, you can be damn sure I'll pay attention. Maybe not always agree, but absolutely pay attention.

Seriously.  What's he thinking!?  Doing something besides working!?  How can I trust my favorite games to someone who just goes out and plays games instead of working!?

Well of course he's going to say it's good. You think he's going to tell players his own games suck?

You'd pretty well hope he liked the game, right? Still, I also take this as a sign it's an enjoyable game. (Not that I myself will enjoy it, of course, just that it's possible to enjoy it. I'll wait a little while longer before deciding whether or not to preorder...)

Addictive playthrough is always a good sign, but honestly it's always the custom content that keeps me coming back. I replayed DA:O about 12 times, the first 4-5 was just for the different paths and the other 7 were because social.bioware.com and dragonagenexus had so many cool toys. ^^
