I have the PC version of Mass Effect 1 that I downloaded and purchased from GameStop.
I don't have any of the dlc's for this game.
I have played through this game twice before on this laptop max settings no problems.

Now I recently tried to play again and I can't open any door in the citadel, it started after I spoke to Harden the first time in Choras Den. To be precise, I can target the door, but when I press enter, nothing happens. I believe it should alsy say open or activate up top, but it doesn't. I can't get into the medical clinic to preceed in the story.

I tried searching several times but could only find Mass Effect 2 topics about a similar issue, and the fixes that worked for that did not fix my problem. I have tried to minimize the graphical settings, reinstalling, reupdating and just starting a new playthough, but none worked.

My Specs are:
OS: Windows 7
HDD: 425 gb free.
RAM: 6gb
Video Card:ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
I have the latest DirectX, and I have updated my PC and Cards recently.

i'd try uninstalling and redownloading this from the EA download manager. You should be able to do this for free with your product key. you perhaps have a corrupt install.

If you re-mapped your controls, they might have been reset to the default action key, which is E for the PC. Check under the Options, Control (I think) from the Main Menu to see.
