ONLY, and I MEAN ONLY!

If the fade is like the Blackmarsh Undying. I thought that one was far superior to the Circle Tower Fade. I hated doing new playthroughs simply for that. Not to say I didn't like making new characters and playing them, but I hated doing the fade

^I agree with this. If they did it, then something like Blackmarch Undying. That was interesting, and you meet an awesome Fade spirit. I hated the Circle one.

That said, one day I'd like to go to the Black City, suicidal though it undoubtedly is. You know what they say, curiousity killed the Mr Wiggums.

Nooooooo, not the Fade! Though, like most everyone else, if it's like the Fade in Awakenings, then I'm cool with it. Circle Tower? It makes my eye twitch every time I get to that floor.

I kind of do.

There's so much about the Fade I'm curious about. I want more of it, but I don't want it to be a boring trip.

Face it, the fade will return like it or not. I suggest you learn coping mechanisms.

I don't think I ever want to go back to the Fade. Ever again. Ask me again in three years, maybe by then the emotional trauma of doing that section several times will fade. (Pun unintended)

Maybe if it was really teeny weeny short, and 80% more like the Fade was in The Calling, then I'd be interested.

I am probably going to get killed for this, but I have the slightest inkling that he is being sarcastic.

No.  I really would have enjoyed them more if they'd been longer.  Frankly, quite a bit longer, but I pulled that back to "twice as long" to make my suggestion more popular.
BioWare has given us big empy environments like that.  ME is probably the best example.

I just assumed the space between encounters were the big empty spaces, and you were stopping in habitats.

I haven't gotten to the fade in awakenings yet, but if it is like the fade in origins, than dear god please don't. Also, how the heck was the fade a puzzle? Remove all the annoying creatures you had to kill, and you essentially ended up moving in a straight line. That was somehow incredibly boring.

If they are going to add a fade, at least take advantage of the fact that it is the dream realm. Give us abilities that wouldn't be possible in normal gameplay, Like say, teleportation. Or moving through walls. Give opposing creatures interesting abilities too. Also, what the hell are darkspawn doing in there? Seriously, I have to kill enough darkspawn in the non-fade. Even fighting blobs of semi-fluid creatures would be more interesting.

And if we have to go there, please don't make it a fade designed by a sloth demon. Make it one designed by a pride demon, or a desire demon at least.

If it resembles the fade as we see and play it in Awakening then I do want to go to the fade again... if it's like the fade in Origins then please no.

There was a Fade in Awakening? I do not remember this.

It isn't the same.

I feel the reason mostly everyone seems to hate the Origin's fade is that it is just jarring how you are suddenly thrust into a entirely new setting in the middle of a trek through a tower. It was frustrating the first time for me since I was all pumped up, killing Abominations and Demons and such and then suddenly just tossed into another "dungeon" all together (which was also bland and drab visually). When I first saw how many little places to go to there were, I think 9 total including the companion and your own nightmares, I kind of shook my head, trying to rush through them to get back to saving the tower. I just hope DA2 brings a Fade section that is it's OWN quest, not a side one that is in the middle of a major story quest.

And the Deep Roads as a whole? Tolerable for me. Aeducan Thaig and Caridin's Cross were the two that just dragged on forever though, thanks to backtracking (also a problem with the Circle Tower Fade). I liked Ortan Thaig, the Deep Trenches (My favorite) and the Anvil just fine!

I found the fade annoying but ok the first playthrough, just a part of the game I'd have to get through quickly because it was very unfun compared to the rest.

It got worse every playthrough. Uhuhguhguhg

The first time I played the fade I hated it! It doesn't give you a hint where to start! You basically are screwed unless you go clockwise which I tried counter so you can probly know how that went. After that I was ok with it ,but I beg bioware never to do that again!

This is why I skip the fade.

Though I would like the awakening type of fade.

+1

Its a puzzle and its a long puzzle so once you figure it out redoing it is a chore.

I seem to be in the minority; I actually LIKE the fade section in Origins.

I recently played thru it as a rogue and after getting the golem form, I steamrolled EVERYTHING (which was helpful 'cuz I had forgotten to stock up on health pots before entering the tower). I felt like Superman.

So, yeah, bring on the fade!

The Fade was HORRIBLE

If Bioware wants to get it right, they should make it like Mankar's paradise in Oblivion

If they do that, people will not stop visiting it

Part of the problem with the Fade in DA:O was all the back-tracking through look-alike sections where the encounters were the same EACH AND EVERY time you went through. I was struggling to stay awake the second time I took a PC through.

I like the concept of the Fade, and think it could be quite interesting/fun. DAO's fade was neither interesting or fun though. Hopefully with DA2's improved graphics/style, the Fade might actually look interesting, other-worldly, bizarre, etc. Hopefully, they will make it fun this time around.

Oh. Okay... not that there's anything wrong with liking huge boring empy spaces! Especially if you have to go through them every single time that you play the game.

Did you play ME?

There was the skyway on Feros, and that long beach path on Virmire, and the trench run on Ilos.

I do those on foot.

I went counter clock wise twice and didn't have problems finishing it.
Then again, I come from the early nineties graphic adventure crowd, so I don't mind a little backtracking and ingenious puzzle solving.

In the style of Origins? No. I use the "Skip the Fade" mod whenever I replay the game.

In the style of Awakening? Sure, I don't see why not.
