Man, that's just sad. I mean really sad. I'm sorry to say this but you suck at using the Mako.
I would get out of it to get kills that would net me more XP but that's it.
EDIT: I used the vehicle more like what it is, an artillery vehicle, and less like an extension of myself. Range, Range, Range is the name of the game. It also helps to jump.

No, it wasn't that I couldn't drive it, I simply hated the tediousness of it. Combat was far faster and more interesting without it.
As far as I was concerned, it was for getting from point A to B. Pointless in a fight if you can finish faster out of it.

You mean planets that aren't perfectly flat.

I would love the chance to take her for another spin in ME3. I really wasnt a fan of the Hammerhead. But if they improve on Overlord and make worlds based on that experience then I would be happy.
I would rather have world exploration in a Hammerhead then none at all. I really did miss that element in ME2.

I hated the mako so much, I don't replay Mass Effect half of the time. Honestly, if Mass Effect 3 brings the Mako back, or driving functionality in general, it's going to be a huge negative for me.
So, basically put it isn't really the Mako you hate, it is the fact you had to drive some places?
I had no real issues with the Mako or the driving although some of the terrains were silly and Bioware did actually deal with that.
As for the Hammerhead I have no issues flying it, sure it takes hits easily but then I don't tend to fly it the way I drove the Mako, well, unless there is just Armatures left in the battlefield in which case I tend to ram them into dust (or orbit if catch them at the right point where they can be flipped up). If people are going to try flying it into battle like they would the Mako it's no surprise your constantly getting defeated and that is your fault not the Hammerheads.
Personally I'd prefer a different vehicle to the two, something 'new' or maybe not so new but something we've not been in ourself, if it were the 'Gunship' that we saw in ME2. It can fly and hover, it has armor and barriers, it has an M350 Accelerator Cannon and can be fitted with different loadouts as far as rockets and bombs are concerned. Basically I see it as a nice amalgamation of the two to some extent. I wouldn't be fussed if either the previous vehicles were back, but this is what I'd prefer to see.
With regards driving/flying, I enjoyed the times in both games where this occurred. Though if brutally honest in the former game it was more on the planets like Virmire, Therum, Noveria and Feros where I preferred it, although I did also enjoy the more open terrain (yet smaller than the ME UNC planets) of Aite in Overlord.

And why you people keep everything so simplistic, boring? The planets could get some smoothing and the Mako can get more powerful thrusters.

It will engage the transformation sequence where Hammerhead, Mako and Normandy form a mighty robot called Voltron - Defender of the Universe!

But this thread is lol. People raving about how epic the Mako is, maybe you should've raved more and it would've been in ME2.
I think a lot of the Mako's support is nostalgia, and how much the hammerhead sucks. I like it, but I remember when I seemed to be one of the few.

No, I hate the mako itself, as well, like I wrote.

Seriously, I loved the Mako. Hated it the first couple of times but once I got the hang of the driving and shooting it was awesome.

I just want the Mako to have better handling and the HH to let me savegame while i'm riding it.
If they do that I'll forgive Mako for being a b*tch in ME1.

I woudl rejoice as long as they made the maps a bit smaller. ALl the mako needed was a bit smaller maps. Maybe choose where to drop. And if you drop near military targets you dont survive. stuff like that common sense. Not some big ass empty space.

and it'll still run.
