I'd fly to Nepmos and go for a bug hunt.

I'd think, "fine I don't care, I preferred the hammerhead but what the hell?"

I'd say, "Finally, a vehicle that doesn't have toilet paper shields!"

Actually, If I had a choice I'd use an A-61 Mantis Gunship for exploration.

The Hammerhead might have been fragile, but I have the strong feeling people weren't properly using its strengths; the infinite ammo long range rocket launcher with SEEKING missiles.

Sidestrafing and maneuvering took care of the few relatively short range fights. For all the others, I stood way off and just did an artillery barrage.

I would actually be happy. But I would miss the speed that the HH has.

Noooo! I strongly dislike both mako and the hammerhead!!

starting with mako, the exploration part is not bad but the 90 degree mountains and the horrible speed!!!! It is like the mining system in ME2 (before the patch), annoying!!! Way too much time spend in commuting instead of the mission!!! Like the elevator in ME! Takes 'forever' to get you anywhere

As for the HH, what is with the shields and the bumping to almost everything!!!!

I just dislike both options but i do like the car chase in LotSB

I can sidestrafe and maneuver well enough for the Hammerhead, but I still prefer the MAKO.  I find the control & feel of the Mako more suitable for me than the Hammerhead.

I guess partly also because I'm a bit lazier and I don't enjoy constantly having to sidestrafe and hold down fire button while on the hammerhead.   And finding a good angle spamming missles is really boring for me.
This remains me of Battlefield 2142, I really hate the hover tank that the PAC uses.

Oh, that tank was amazing. What the hell was it called? The nekomata? Was there a number in there as well? 32?

Think It was Type 32 Nekomata

And the EU A8 tiger tank was much better!

If you had somewhere to hide behind, no way, just poke out, shoot and back up into cover again.

If you weren't on even ground however, I agree. That thing would start slipping instantly.

I agree the A8 tiger tank was more vulnerable against infantry. But on the other hand, you could actuelly move the canon seperatly from the "body".

And for some reason whenever there was a tank battle. The tiger tank always won over the Nekomata!

Pah, running over people unintentionally while aiming the nekomata beats anything, team kills or otherwise!

I love the Mako. It's awesome. But then the Hammerhead is great too. Mabye in ME3 they could bring the Mako back but you can upgrade it, or it is upgraded already for use. The Hammerhead is much faster and it can fire rockets at a faster rate.

I wouldn't mind either one to be honest Posted Image

NOOOO!!! I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!! WHY AREN'T YOU IN THE NORMANDY GRAVEYARD!!??
Swear I spent all of ME1 killing enemies out of the Mako (including thresher maws) faster than in it!!

Man, that's just sad. I mean really sad. I'm sorry to say this but you suck at using the Mako.

I would get out of it to get kills that would net me more XP but that's it.

EDIT: I used the vehicle more like what it is, an artillery vehicle, and less like an extension of myself. Range, Range, Range is the name of the game. It also helps to jump.

Head up your ass much? Mako was little more than an overglorified RC car with major control issues.

I'd like the Me1 planets with the mobility of the hammerhead and the durability of the mako

Match made in heaven. Sort of like me and liquorice

I never understood all the complaints about the Mako. I had trouble on one planet where I got stuck on terrain and it was because I insisted on going up a hill I knew damn well I shouldn't go up.

I'd consider my options, decide that it's faster than walking, and get the Hell in.

Seriously though, I preferred the Hammerhead over the Mako. I mean, don't get me wrong, planet exploration beats orbital probe-mining six ways to Tuesday, and it's cool to drive from one base to another, blowing up armatures, thresher maws and turrets alike, but after the second planet.. Meh.

Yes, the Hammerhead was fragile. Okay. Some might say constructed from tinfoil, I can live with that. But with a little strafing, a little hiding behind large rocks and a whole lotta love, the Hammerhead can hold its own in a fight. The speed was freaking phenomenal, and a warranted a serious sigh of relief from the Mako. And I loved that you actually achieved lift off with the Hammerhead's thrusters, compared to the Mako's helps-you-get-over-speedbumps-thrusters.

Also, the Mako flipping around like a pinball whenever I used the thrusters just blew. I felt sorry for whatever squad mates I took with me. And it's just silly. Especially in a time-is-of-the-essence, conduit-is-closing kind of mission like Ilos, flying four hundred feet into the air and doing a triple somersault just because you hit the roots of a tree is just..
Well, you know.

So yeah, the Hammerhead has its flaws, so does the Mako. I'd be happy to see it back in Mass Effect 3, though,
nonetheless- Considering Mass Effect 3'll be a whole new game with whole new mechanics from ME1.

Just sayin'.

I found the physics of it to be way off. Even a small bump in the road would sent you flying all over the place and then end up in a different direction. Very annoying.

I read way more into that than I should have.

Sorry, 6 years of watching night elves bounce randomly has destroyed my sanity.

One thing the MAKO had going for it was manual aiming and firing. Auto locking missiles, which would fail to lock on half the time BY THE WAY, just isn't very involving or fun.

LOL

Odd the missiles never missed for me. And the zoom in made it ridculously easy to aim.
