I had a question on romances. I assume in ME2 the trigger is the bed scene since you can flirt with anyone before that.
In ME1 is it also the night spent together or is the romance officially triggered sooner?
I ask this because I want to know where I have to reoload my game in order to achieve an ending with a romance and one without.

In ME1 if the person you romanced comes up to you for the final romance scene the romance is official regardless of whether or not you turn them away at this point. You have to end the romance before then if you don't want it to carry over in ME2.
For ME2 I have no idea when the romance is official and will carry over to ME3. I would break up with them before the final romance scene just to be safe.

ME1 can be a bit difficult to handle concerning romance. I used the guides referred to in this post to handle them: http://social.biowar...4/index/2970780
Please note however that the comment on Ashley calling you Skipper means her romance is locked in, this isn't true. After choosing "You are out of line" you lock out any chance of romance with her, but talking to her about her family afterwards creates a friendship which makes her cll you skipper.
ME2 is a lot easier to handle because you can actually flirt with all of them and then break it of again. Do note however that they will react to you flirting with others, and they will make you choose.
My advice is choose which way to go from the start (if possible) nd act accordingly - at least for ME1, because this can really screw you over otherwise. In neither game will you be able to wait for the cut scene (the night they spend together), ME1 requires you to handle it in the very first or at least second conversation you have with them, and ME2 requires you to pick one before the cut scene.

Thanks. That was exactly what I was afraid of. Now I have to play the entire game to times through.

The romance is indeed not very well thought out in ME1. I for one was very worried about Ashley since she started calling me skipper. So I made a bet and finished the game, and luckily saw her romance wasn't activated.
