The problem isn't just that the thing is unauthorized or anything, Awakening just doesn't show up period, like it doesn't exist at all. How can I fix this? Does it have anything to do with the second disk that says "Additional Packs Included" on it that came with the Ultimate Edition? I've tried using it but my computer keepssaying that it fails to authenticate the code.

Weird. Both Origins and Awakening, as well as the DLC is in fact installed in the process (although the DLC requires online authorization), so Awakening at least should work "out of the box"... Did you use both DVDs during installation? (yes, I know it's a silly question, but still... :-))

Actually, I already had Origins installed in my computer before I bought the Ultimate Edition, so I never needed to use any of the disks in the box except for the codes for unlocking the DLC content. Maybe my problem might have something to do with that? What if I were to uninstall Origins and reinstall it using the Ultimate Edition disks instead? Would I lose all my data or anything like that?

On the nose, my friend.  A lot of people have experienced problems installing or authorizing Ultimate Edition over their old copy of DA.  You'll see a lot of posts on the topic in this forum.

Here's what you should do.  Backup your old characters... in the My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\DragonAge\\\\Character folder.  Uninstall everything.  Go in an delete anything that did not install-- like the folders under My Documents and in your Programs folder.  Then reinstall with the UE discs.

Some have done this and still encountered problems... in some cases, Awakening still doesn't show up.  Some have hinted that something needs to be cleaned out of the registry, but I am not sure what.  Again, do a keyword search of the forums, and it should help.

BTW.. UE includes everything... including patch 1.04, so there's no need to install that.

EDIT:  Once you know everything is working, including Awakening, then you can copy your old "Character" folder back.

Alright so all I gotta do is uninstall Dragon Age, keep a copy of my characters somewhere, and then reinstall using the Ultimate Edition disks? If so then I'll do that.

Update if this worked. I'm about to try the same thing. I have DAO and am almost on my second time completing it. I just bought DAU and am about to try to save my old characters to run them through the Ultimate w/ all the DLC version. Hopefully no bugs....

Wish me luck!

Repeating for emphasis:

And yes, please let us know if it works!

Horrah! It worked. I copied a folder of my characters onto my desktop, uninstalled Dragon Age Origins, reinstalled it using both of the Ultimate Edition disks, copied my characters back into my Dragon Age files, and simply logged in to my account to get everything back, Awakening included. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully anyone else having trouble will get to see this topic.

Uninstalled Original game ( Including My Documents folder stuff) Reinstalled DAO: Ultimate and logged back in. It seems all good, and all the DLC shows installed. Soooo, I think it worked good! Thank you all for the input!

I just had the same problem. I bought the games via Steam. At first, Awakening showed, but not the DLC. After re-installing nothing showed up, not even Awakening. I thought it was the updater server, which wasn't installed. So I did that and the DLC worked, but still no awakening. As it turned out it where the .xml files in my "Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings" folder. I copied files I backed up from my first install over the new folder and voila!

Hopes this helps other people searching the forums.
