Never have tried to romance anyone other than Liara, so that's who i would choose. Tali annoys me and
I don't even know what she looks like under the helmet, is that the reason why most of you like Tali because of the mystery? that makes me more pissed than to like her lol.

A few questions actually 1) If you show no interest in Tali, do people like Kelly still say she likes you? (Because that would make me feel really guilty)

Tali will like you and Kelly will use that line no matter what. You would think refusing her the geth data in ME1, which causes her to stop speaking to you in that game, might have her thinking less of you but that is not the case. Kidnapping Veetor could also have been a dealbreaker but it's not. Nothing is before the loyalty mission. If you turn in the evidence against her father Tali will not be happy and you won't have to turn her down. But you'll still have ample reason to feel guilty I suppose.

And you go with Liara only because she can have blu childrends with Shepard maybe? We can do silly observations about the favourite LI of eachother all the time if you want ... It's passed more than an year since the ME2's release and Tali's still one of favourite female characters of the series, even if anyone knows that her face still isn't visible. Can you assume that MAYBE there's more of the "how she looks under the helmet?" thing that likes to the fans?

Said that, Liara is another character I like a lot, in fact she's my canon LI in Mass Effect 1 and I liked alot her evolution in the second chapter. Romance her in ME1 and then go with Tali in ME2 is stil one of the best development of the story imo: it gives to Liara strongest motivations to rescue Shepard's body and to starts the war with Shadow Broker that will trown her away from Shep, and also amplifies the reasons that forced Tali to remain just a friend in ME1... it works pretty well, believe me. Especially if you have a paragon behaviour and you treat very well both of them. But if you like drama, I guess that remaining loyal to Liara and makes Tali the classic uncorrisponded love would works fine too...

As far as I know, most of the people like Tali because she's: gentle and naive; familiar with tech and can use shotgun; has interesting accent and funny line about launching drone and is recurring character. The problem is that in many aspects Tali from ME2 is similar to Liara in ME1, and I don't know where the next game will lead them both. For now, Liara's future seems to be more... stated? than any other character's, plus she can't die

I agree that it is your choice to make. If you prefer the bookish hot librarian with a penchant for megolomania, go with Liara.

If you like the quirky and shy Engineer that can't lead if her life depended on it (because it has, twice) then go with Tali.

In the end, they're similar personalities. Intelligent, strong but with a soft side, compassionate, and devoted to Shepard. One showed this devotion by finding your corpse and giving it to Cerberus based on a hope beyond hope that they could bring you back. The other showed it by abandoning her fleet, her family, to serve at your side against a Galactic threat.

Liara provides you with valuable information as the Shadow Broker, putting her strongest skills towards saving the galaxy.

Tali fixes and upgrades your ship, the vital component in your operations, the one thing you can't do without. She also provides a possible solution to a centuries old war.

Each is important and each is equally worthy. Which character you prefer is up to you.

I was disappointed by this fact. I didn't really like the ME1 Liara and my nostalgia ultimately drove me towards Tali (I used her in almost every single mission. She was an absolute tank, often outliving the better armored Wrex, Garrus, and Shepard).

At this point, I prefer Liara post LotSB but Samara over that. Here's hoping for the option

Save before choosing: Romance Liara in the first branch of savegames. Romance Tali in the second branch of savegames.

=> PURE GENIUS

It's a bit disappointing that Liara is the unique ME's character that cannot die in one game or the other... it sounds a bit like BW wanna push her as canon LI using this fact, and the ME: Genesis comic confirmed this impression. Again, I like Liara too, but this isn't fair for the fans of all the others LIs, not only for Talimancers like me.

You know you want her!

Seriously, you can always end Tali's romance in ME2...or Liara's romance in LOTSB. You really don't have to decide right now ;)

Morinth kinda freaks me out, She has the face of a killer. But i do like Samara which is weird because they have the same face model if I'm correct? Maybe it's just the fact that she is a Ardat-Yakshi that drives me away from her. Isn't Liara a pure blood? If so it would be so funny if liara ended up being a ardat-yakshi and killing you in me1 without you even knowing. xD

The funny thing is that I'm not a fan of Star Trek in general. And I was talking specifically about Liara and Tali I've got nothing against the human LIs.

Want a LI that will stroke your ego? Tali.

Want to kid yourself and think your ego has been stroked. Liara.

This problem has forced me to have two "canon" Shepards. One romanced Liara in ME1 and remained faithful/continued it through ME2. The other didn't romance anyone in ME1 and romanced Tali in ME2.

Everything else is the same in my two Shepards other than the romances.

Don't bother choosing between them and just romance Garrus Posted Image

Although, I would personally pick Tali. Realistically, Liara's new love will be brokering information and doing her duties as a Shadow Broker, that is why I never romanced her. She is awesome in ME2, but she didn't do it for me in ME1.
Whereas Tali is a brilliant character in my opinion (in ME2) and I love quarians.

By the way, the title of this thread may mean that fireworks may commence, and that lockdown may be just around the corner... Come on dude, you saw it coming.
