So I have been playing mass effect on the PC for about a week now. I did the quests on Noveria as well as almost all the available side quests.  Im curently on Feros, trying to get rid of the geth claw. When the game goes to the cutscene, it freezes. I have no idea why this happens. It always freezes in one of the same two spots too: either right after the scene where you see the geth claw retract (the closeup of the claw) or right after the you see the geth ship start to fall and the cutscene goes to shepard. (still in the cutscene.) I have the latest patch, and to my knowledge all my drivers are up to date. I have NO idea why this freezes when it does, as I have nt had ANY problems with the game till now. Apparently I am the only one with the problem (that I could find). I have tried lowering the resolution as much as possible, disabling VSync,  and running the game in XP compatibility mode. So far nothing works. Any thoughts?

Ok so somehow I fixed it: turning off Vsync, Film, Grain, and Motion Blur seemed to let the movie play (i had it on a higher rez too). Not sure what the problem could have been, but if anyone else experiences this same problem that seemed to fix the issue.

Just for future reference This sort of question is meant to go into the support forum. :)

Your problem is likely related to your display adapter. You need a more powerful graphics card to run ME1 with all the bells and whistles.

And as Whereto said, this does belong in the Tech Support section.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator is not the same as Intel HD Graphics. I don't really want to review the differences between them, but you can find a very rough comparison here.

Personally, I take the stand that if Bioware / EA don't support any of Intel's awful junk, then I shouldn't be trying to do so, either.
