When I go to the 'new content available' section of the main menu; the server etc announces that the Cerberus safefy certificate is out of date and therefore advises access to it. Not even able to download free DLC!

As long as your browser shows the http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php URL, simply manually accept the certificate. Alternatively, download the DLC via some filesharing network. As long as you don't apply a crack and the DLC is linked to your BioWare account, the game will verify the install as legit.
