I found a lot of overlap between these 3 characters, and yet they are all uniquely interesting. I'm certainly a huge Liara fan, but I'm uncertain about Leliana vs. Morrigan. So I wish to see the general trend among Liara fans (who also plays DA:O) here: Who do you like better, Leliana or Morrigan?

Liara's innocent and naive persona in ME1 is certainly reminiscent of Morrigan, and yet her sweet and kind nature is much more like Leliana's. She's an Adept/Mage/Magical Caster type of character, like Morrigan. Her beauty is also more on the exotic side, like Morrigan.

Her problem with Benezia is a mother problem, with similarities to both Morrigan's mother problem as well as Leliana's history with her former mentor. In ME2 Liara became a master of intrigue, much like Leliana's Bard persona. And she seems to genuinely enjoy it too, like Leliana. ("Is it wrong that part of me wants this?")

Those are parallels, not similarities, they actually do more to highlight how different the characters are. But I suppose you could say that, in a way, Liara combines the best traits of Leliana and Morrigan in one character.

I can't say which I "like more" though. I find Morrigan to be a more interesting character and personality overall, but Leliana has better romance.

Before I read this, I voted for Morrigan.  My characters romanced Liara and Morrigan, so it was an honest vote.  I really never compared ME and DA romances before, but it's a fascinating question.

This is so true!  I was actually confused whether that quote came from Liara (after Shadow Broker mission) or Lelianna (after Majorline quest) as they are so similar in that regard.

If anything, I think maybe Morrigan is more similar to Jack.  They're always talking about survival, doing what it takes to survive, taking advantage of others to increase their chance of surviving, I learned to survive, etc.

So I'm honestly wondering why I liked Liara and not Jack in ME, why Morrigan and not Leliana in DA.  I guess it's because my characters were very different i.e. none of my DA:O characters were medieval Shepard.

I play my character differently for each game too. Each world needs its own unique hero, and its hero is its product, so they should all be different.

You could say that some of Morrigan's arrogance/****iness is shared by Miranda as well.

More like Jack is similar to Morrigan. Except Jack got truncated by ME2 dialogue streamlining, which gives her barely enough time to sketch out the personality, much less fully develop it. Which is a problem with all ME2 characters to a degree, but Jack, being a more complicated character, makes it more evident.

That I disagree with. Morrigan's "arrogance/****iness" is distinctly her own, and much more endearing than Miranda's.

I wouldn't compare Morrigan and Miranda. Miranda actually thinks for herself and isn't a b***** to be one. She also doesn't seem to severely underestimate people around her because she has a superiority complex.

...I really don't see anything of Morrigan in Liara either to be honest. Liara isn't selfish, she doesn't think of herself, she doesn't use Shepard and feels regret for using Feron (even though he betrayed her). I just don't see the two as comparable.

Though I'm not a Liara fan. ...Whoops.

I like them both, but consider Morrigan to be my favorite DA:O character.

If I'm playing a male Warden I'll romance Morrigan and if I'm female I'll go for Leliana.
