I've read about people missing Leliana in the tavern in Lothering which apparently results in her death. What I'm wondering is this.

After the fight in the tavern if you can avoid Lelianas advances she asks you to reconsider and leaves. If you talk to other people, including the reverend mother, you're told she has left the chantry to pursue a greater goal. You then run into her leaving Lothering. Alistair is very insistant you take her with you. If you again reject her she says she'll make her own way north then and leaves.

As she has now apparently escaped the hordes arrival are you likely to encounter her again on your travels?

Part of me wants to carry this through to see what happens but I'd feel more confident trying it if I had picked a rogue to play this time rather than a warrior, and it's a while until Zev comes on the scene.

You won't meet her again after Lothering.

Theres no proof it results in her death. But i'm guessing she would be one of the few who would stay behind to give the villagers some time to escape. Good chance she ended up as either a Brood Mother or Darkspawn food.

The wiki says she dies but someone mentioned that Mary Kirby stated that Leliana leaves Lothering if you don't recruit her. I don't know if the epilogue or codex mentions the fate of Sten or Leliana if you leave them in Lothering.

Your last chance to get her is at the road near where you first meet Sandal. Its worth rejecting her in the tavern at least once to get the dialogue at the second chance. Alistair's 'Princess Stabbidy-Stab' line is priceless.

Didn't even know this. Next playthrough, I'm doing it.

I so agree with that.

I'd reject Leliana again just to hear that line! xD

If you talk to her after the fight on the road, she'll help you with it.  (I'm sure everyone knows this but wanted to toss it in just in case the OP didn't).

@Avilla; She helped me with the angry mob that tried to stomp on me, before the fight on the road... but I can't remember if I talked to her or not.

I might try out that tip you just mentioned, I didn't know that. =D

Save first..in case something goes awry.  I haven't done it for a while but I'm as sure as I can be she will.
