(what do you call a female Bann?)

Bann like Bann Alfstanna. The real question is what you call the spouse of a Bann.

Milady?

Once she gets her throne and the Blight is stopped, you have no more leverage to use to force her to let you rule.

A bit of a cliffhanger though, that one. Anora warms to the HNM, as evidenced by her dialogue in Awakening, so maybe the word 'force' is a bit of a strong term. I believe king Cousland would have some power. Maybe they could even rule together eg King William of Orange and Queen Mary.

His Father could have became king after Maric's death, he had the backing of many nobles. Why wouldn't those nobles support Bryce Couslands son who shows the same stregnths his father had and has shown he would make a strong fair and just king

It would have been problematic for the Landsmeet to support a Cousland in the face of a regency hostile to the Cousland family. I do agree with you though. HNM most likely has a better claim than either Alistair or Anora.

That's all well and good but canon states that Anora is ruling queen and the HNM, no matter how much the nobles might have loved his father, is the consort and nothing can change that as long as they both live. It may give him influence but doesn't change the fact that she's the one with the official power.

And Milady doesn't seem appropriate for, say, Alfstanna's husband.

That's what I meant to say. It wouldn't make sense to think that because he would be younger he might die before you but him being older meaning that he would die before you does work.

If Fergus did die, would the Cousland warden be allowed to rule? Even though he/she is a Grey warden?

Why wouldn't they? Being a GW doesn't stop Alistair from being king, a HN from being consort, or any Warden from being Chancellor, Arl, or Teyrn of Gwaren. I doubt there is any law against GWs having titles but rather a Warden policy (that may be changing from how excited the First Warden seemed to be about the GWs having Amaranthine). I think the point is that you cannot actively be a GW and, say, Teyrn but if you are a GW, ended a Blight, and now wish to leave the order there is nothing stopping you from inheriting.

Yeah Wardens can inherit titles, so can dwarves and elves even.. Its just very very very rare. Only mages cannot inherit titles
