Its demented is what it is. I've never got the whole J-pop thing, mind you I never got anywhere elses pop either but thats just me. You would think the amount of hot women flapping about the place would entice me but strangely it doesn't.

Bit late to the party here, but I am another that really enjoyed the first and so is looking forward to this

I can't say I really enjoyed FF13, it was disappointing in the adventuring department. The only thing truly fun about the game is the combat, the story seemed unfinished and the cutscenes didn't flow at all, I was always jarred when they came up. 

But apparently FF13 did NOT ship finished either, it was supposed to be supported further with micro DCL's like ME and DA over here. But that didn't pan out hence FF13-2. If I hear news of a reworking of how the story unfolds I'll get it and for pete's sakes bring back the small villages, shopping, mini gaming and overall adventuring.. lol. 

Oh and I really enjoyed X-2, it was a lot of girly fun, not to be taken all that seriously but just great to indulge in, like pink cotton candy.

Ahem, its actually only 3 times a week we spray over FF7. Also what the hell is a weaboo?

Going back to the whole J-pop thing do you guys actually understand the lyrics? Thats a pretty big barrier for me, I only know like two sentences of Japanese so it just ends up being pretty people making noise. Which I suppose is what all pop is but J-Lo just wouldn't be the same if I didn't know she was infact still Jenny from the block.

v Im not being an idiot. Im stating a fact. Weaboos are just as, if not in some ways worse than Emo wannabes who pretend to cut themselves.

So go right ahead and spray your load all over the new FFXIII sequel even though it mostly likely will suck as much as the first one.

Do they constantly form communities to brag about how FFVII(or XIII) is 'teh best game evarr'??

The answer is no. Most hardcore FF fans are weaboos or savage otaku's who think they are japanese, tries to behave like a japanese, eats noodlees, tries to speak 'wapanese', dresses like one and vigorously masturbates to FF characters until they rip their foreskin off.

Much less than the FFVII or XIII raging fanboys. Making a thread and ranting about a few LI's is one thing, but taking the whole thing to real life is another.

well this is a thread about final fantasy 13 which you apparently do not like, so i dont see the difference

Why was it a disaster? 
It's fairly linear, but then opens up once you get to the main planet. Besides, linearity can be a good thing, rather then having a game so open ended that you lose focus on what the story is.
 
The characters were good, particularly Snow, Lightening & Fang, who were far removed from the type of characters that most people complain about with FF (effeminate guys and whiney party members). Even the guy with the bird in his hair wasn't a big deal. It wasn't like it appeared during battles or anything.
 
Their were no towns or overland map, but then I don't think the game needed that.

I thought it was a good change to previous FFs. I find it refreshing that the developers are willing to keep changing the game, rather than settling for one thing (battle system, game mechanic, whatever) and regurgitating it.

Are you kidding? XIII had the worst cast of any ff with over melodramatic characters(ill admit i like sazh and fang only) , towns is what made the previous FF's not so linear and fleshes out the world, the story is a jumbled mess theres no clear villain from the start of the game, the story had no direction like the previous installments, it was lcie this lcie that and was far too linear.

I felt that XII was far more refreshing than previous FF with its open world.

This obviously is my opinion.

Seconded, Gosh Fang I liked her Stupid Sexy Flanders attitude in the first game . It clashes nicely with Lightning's character .
Come to think of it there wasn't really a character that I disliked in the cast . I never understood the Hope bashing all around the internet . It's like every single character that isn't Duke Nukem-like is called whinny and uninteresting .
For me Hope felt real, don't know why .

And while FF13 had its flaws, I enjoyed playing it and I think the combat system is a good base, if they refined it and make it less Streamlined I will be happy .
