Multi-platform games usually are inferior on the PS3 but Casey Hudson and his pals really did a phenomenal job on not just giving us a faithful port but improving the game.
He wasn't kidding when he said this is the definitive version of Mass Effect 2.
I believe it was Jesse Houston who directed the ps3 port an not Casey.

That's funny I could swear I played Mass Effect 1 and 2 on the PC ? How can it be "a 360 series" when it was already multiplatform and available on the PC as well as the 360 ?Mars Nova wrote...
It will always be a 360 series.
This.
Shooter games are for PCs. CoD-nerds and the like playing on their consoles just makes me think of some fratboy morons who are terrible at vidya games playing or teenage boys in the 11-17 demographic, of which I am neither.
Real wo/men use mouse+keyboard for game experiences.
What the heck? CoD nerd? I don't even think that exists, most people who play CoD are casual or mainstream. That's pretty much the opposite of nerdy. Even the people who are more competitive or hardcore aren't even close to being nerdy.
I think a nerd is far more likely to play different games, like RPGs.
Like Bioware games for example.
Hehe.

and a quick question, is the shadowbroker even mentioned in the interactive comic? Or cerberus for that matter?

ME2 is like $20 now. PS3 owners will be paying $60 for the game and DLC, which is more than reasonable. Stop your whining about "loyalty". Ungrateful brats.mackjr1234 wrote...
I just wish that DLC like the Shadow Broker will become free for all jealous X360 owners that were loyal to the game since the first crap combat situation. I dont care much for the new graphics on the PS3 because I think the graphics on the X360 are fine. I just want the DLC. Thats it.

again, I ask, how can the "definitive" version of a game be one which is lacking potential content, including quests and characters...could someone please explain this to me?

Thats precisely what tickles me the wrong way.EA is so desperate for an easy cash grab, they trying to paint this as the ultimate experience. What, they dont think it can sell ,based on its actual quality!Regardles the PS3 version is missing that essential component - The ability to personalize the expierince, the different flavor every run of ME2 gets based on your ME 1 playthrough. If there was ever a game, where playing the Prequel counted, its ME2.
The overall plot progression is the same, the way you go through that plot is different.People react differently to you,if you met them, killed them, saved them, interacted with them. Some are plased to see you ,others hate your guts,or are scared of you,or are doing something because of you. That by far ME strongest achievment.
It why i think that porting a the second act of a trilogy without the first,is pure corporate"Bobby Kotick" greed. The Audience never gets a chance to see New Hope,or decide if Luke is an idealistick farmboy,or an ambitious carrier-man.
The end of the day, this official statement of "superiority" only fuels flame-wars.Its even worse when its not even true.Watch the gamespot review. Its the real "show and tell".Messy and sometimes awful texturing, flawed level geometry and ecessive screan-tearing.Yet the OP came to gloat of superiority.
Fact is The worst is the PS3,fallowed by the 360,and need i go further(PC)
The continuity of the 360 ver+ u know the actual first game. And the added customzation and funktionality on the PC.But you have to admit, atleast they get more out of the box content for 60 bucks.

Digital Foundry deems that the 360 version is technically better performance wise and better for the sake of getting the full "Mass Effect" experience.

Looks like the biggest differences are in shadows, lightning and colours. The are some parts where I think the PS3 does a better job, in others the X360 is better. Overall the isn’t that much of a difference. The biggest flaw on the PS3 I noticed is that they forget to animate Shepard’s shadow at times.

Seriously, you berate people calling a particular version 'superior' then go on to then rank platforms in worst to best?

Given the enormous lack of content on the PS3......basically the majority of importable choices, ME1, mods and so on......combined with the fact it doesn't look better:

So where does the term "definitive" even fit into that? BioWare just said that to make the PS3 players feel better about getting the not-so-good version of a game a year later plus they'd figured they'd drive some of the perfection freaks of their established fanbase crazy enough to go buy a second, lesser version of the game. It's marketing psychology.
Quoted for truth. Really hate their marketing nonsense, using words like "definative" that dont really mean anything in a measurable way when (on top of all the above!) they even cut out a bunch of minor character quests and interactions just feels very wrong.

You can switch the triggers, but the bottom buttons have to travel so far that they slow you down.
You barely have to touch them if you're trying to fire quickly. I switch them out for a lot of games, they're designed this way for games (like GTA, RDR) to allow the "Half Pull" with a different effect. That said, pulling R2 all the way back is satisfying at times, especially when the need arises for that Arc gun.

First off i dont berate anyone i just comment;).Second,im just stating facts, not opinions. If you stack all versions next to eachother, its how things stand. And unlike EA i'm not kissing up to the most recent and potential customers.Im happy and sad(cause they didnt get ME1) for PS3 owners, but when i see multiple threads by fanboys, spawn by the statement of EA marketing,i get irritated. PC offers the best expiereince, but you dont see me spaning 3 threads a day about it.

I'm fairly sure the native resolution of the 360 version is 720p. There are almost exactly zero games that have 1080p natively on PS3/360.
Either way, PC supports 1080p
Also, IMO ME2 >> ME, going back to ME after the sequel just feels old
