After my first playthrough of ME1, I ended up with a level 41 Shepard. I had started ME2 but then went back and started a new game in ME1 with my level 41 for the benefit of leveling/finishing sidequests/etc.. When I finished this time around my Shepard is now at level 58. Now when I try to import into ME2 I see both my level 41 and level 58 Shepards as options (even though I overwrote the level 41 when I restarted and saved throughout) but I can only choose the level 41. The game won't let me scroll down to select the 58 character, but I can see it plain as day so I know the game recognizes it as a valid save. I made different key decisions my second time around and that's now the save I want to import but the problem is it just won't let me select it. Is there a way around this?

Did you try using the d-pad? For some reason, switching between ME1 files for import into ME2 must be done with the d-pad instead of the left analogue stick.
