From the OP
For the majority of situations the role of shooting was well balanced, the problem was for 2 major points of the game it wasn't.
For example, when Shep was storming the office tower, shooting was incorporated very well and made sense.
All I am asking is that Bioware use shooting appropriately and not as a solution that makes no sense.
For example, for the conflict with the Reaper, if you could hide somewhere, where the Reaper couldn't go it would kind of make sense.
I am not asking to completely remove shooting as a solution, I just want it to make sense if it is.
HIDE from the Termi-reaper? How could you possibly hide from it? It is hanging onto the platform you are on and you can't get off it! And you need to be there to prime the bomb to blow the place up, if that is what you choose to do. You can't hide from the Termi-reaper and continue the story! And what Shepard in his/her right mind is going to hide from that abomination, especially when it is trying to kill you. Sorry, a pacifist option at this point makes even less sense than the whole termi-reaper to start with!
Oh and it can't walk all over you cos it had no legs, only arms. Yeah, it could indeed have just toppled the platform to the ground and fallen there itself, which could have been interesting, but it didn't. Probably because it was less that mobile on the ground, possibly even because it didn't have much in the way of intelligence, either AI, or a human mush kind... it was a ****** after all.
