Actually I think the best tank for BG1 (tutu) is Blade.

Natural ac 1 with spirit armor

- 4 with 18 dex

- 2 with Drizzt's scimitar (dual-wield with Dagger of Poison for nice dps)

- 2 from cloak of protection

- 10 from defensive spin

- 4 from Improved Invisibility

+ Mirror Image

+ Protection from Normal Missiles

That's -21 ac in BG1. Granted, defensive spin roots you in place, but you can still cast spells if enemies go chase someone else, and you get 3x personal haste/day. Even without defensive spin you're at -11.

I also forgot claw of kazgaroth doesn't count as magical item, so you get +1 ac from that, and +3 from blur, so that's way into -20s in BG1.

You'd rather have Spirit Armor than Ghost Armor + Stoneskins?

Also, since Tutu doesn't work with the G3 Fixpack, it's possible (haven't tested) that the Ring of Freedom + Defensive Spin exploit still works.

Ah, I didn't even remember bg1/totsc had stonekin.

I thought about the free action exploit myself, but tutu comes pre-packed with G3 fixpack, so it should be fixed.

I don't think it has Stoneskin, but mods are there for a reason, aren't they?

Stoneskin would actually help vs sarevok.
Though i had enogh help from minor globe of invunerability and summon monsters.

The globe makes u immune to those fireball arrows.
And the summons helped to turn sarevok onto his allies. So i was only left with him to deal with.
Took a lot of summons + wands to take him down though.
He's a tough nut.

Also give your mages protection from petrification, they make basilisks super-easy. U don't even have to be a tank to beat them after that.

As for the best tutu NPC tank, I would have to say kagain (especially as barbarian).

Slap him Spider's Bane (or ring of free action) and you're set (just cast a few webs and follow the slaughter). You don't even need a cleric to heal him because of his insane constitution, he'll regenerate to full health when traveling/resting.

Blades also make superb tanks in BG1.

I've had Eldoth (specced as blade) in my group for quite some time now, I stumbled upon some potions of freedom and tried it out, it still works in latest easytutu + tutu fixpack.

Also boots of speed + haste + offensive spin = space rocket (I think it can outrun arrows).
