But then, I still think it was a little cowardly on BW's part to not have more "Either" romance options in ME2.

Even if is sci -fi, not everyone you meet should be open minded, Otherwise it would be a bit clear they are just trying to appease anyone who plays the game.

I like the balance found in DA.

Kelly = Anything That Moves Anything, including Legion

I like, but here is my 2cents (edited above)

It's f****** Commander Shepard! He should be able to find some male willing to sleep with him!

:?

I don't see how a paragon Shepard can exude a aura of hating anything.

I like Kelly. She wants to experience everything and she does it. She has balls. I wonder what people's opinions would be if she was a man.

Kelly's all right.  For me, it's the way Shepard approaches her that creeps me out.  I guess it's similar to how a lot of people complain about female Shepard coming on too strong with Jacob.  The "Where's my hug?" line gives me the creeps.

Miranda with Femshepard.

Discuss!

You mean this?

I lurvs it, but I hate that I have to mod it. Miranda spends 2 years learning everything there is to know about Shepard so she could ahve been the bisexual romance of ME2 instead of Kelly since she knows her commander inside and out.It'd be easy for her to fall for femshep the same way she does for maleshep. way to drop the ball Bioware.Image IPB

But that's the deliberately flirty option, not the I-want-you-now tone of voice that comes up whenever you talk to Jacob.

It's not the tone of voice, it's how much power Shepard has over Kelly.

Doesn't Shepard have power over everyone?

This was the sort of response I predicted.  Kelly is weak.  She's supposed to be.  It's what makes her eventual capture able to provide the player with agency... if he or she cares.  I don't think Shepard exerts the same sort of power over Jacob, who looks up to him/her, but is perfectly capable of voicing his displeasure with the boss (the Alliance, the Illusive Man, and occasionally Shepard).  Unlike Jacob, Kelly is starstruck from day one.  If you push things too far with Jacob and start psychoanalyzing him, he'll tell you to back off.

Edit:  This applies to the other romances as well, though in varying degrees depending on the character in question.  All of them, though, are stronger and more independent than Kelly.

My Shepards are all straight, so I only pair them with the opposite gender (asari count as female).

As for the squadmates' preferences, whatever the game says it is. Liara, Samara, Morinth, and Kelly will go for both MaleShep and FemShep, and the others will only go for a Shepard of the opposite gender.

I think Mirana and Jack should get together. It would be awesome watching that romance blossom from the sidelines.

Why not, bioware? Why not?

Liara = Shepardsexual
Ashley = Shepardsexual
Kaiden = Shepardsexual

This is slightly skewed because ME1 had so much more dialogue available

Miranda = Shepardsexual, male preference
Jacob = femShep
Tali = Shepardsexual, male preference
Garrus = Shepardsexual
Thane = Shepardsexual, female preference
Jack = Shepardsexual, female preference

Samara = Shepardsexual
Morinth = Shepardsexual
Kelly = Sexual, Shepard preference

Aliens: OMG SHEPARD I LOVE YOU!
Humans: (mostly) OMG SHEPARD I LOVE YOU!

Jacob (the few times I talked to him) was the only person who seemed to be solidly straight.

Haha! Yep, "Shepardsexual" pretty much sums it up. The developers seems to have been strongly inspired by that casanova Captain Kirk.

But a bit more seriously though: I think most are actualy just in a bromance or sismance with Shep. Not everything needs to be sexual, wich shouldn't keep us from speculating about possible or impossible pairing just for the fun of it.

My Gaydar says that Tali, Thane, Ashley and Kaidan (Ash and Kai was even planned to be bi if memore serves me right) might swing both ways under the right circumstances. And the asari are, well, asari. The rest seems rather straight to me though.

The Zevran and Leiliana sollution in DAO was rather clever, but a majority of the LI swinging both ways would feel a bit too much.

Actually, as a guy, this makes perfect sense to me. Women are much more open about their sexuality then men, at least where I come from.

I've seen tons of straight women holding hands while I have never seen a straight man hold another straight man's hand unless they were making a joke.

The stigma against homosexuality is much stronger when it comes to men IMO.

Not that I think that's right, just that here in the US it's the truth.

It's the future. Where there's aliens.

I think humans sleeping with aliens *especially turians* would have a far larger stigma than humans sleeping with other humans same gender or no.

I think you'd be surprised. No one questions Captain Kirk getting some alien loving in a tv show released in the 60's but going into 2011 gay relationships in the US are still heavily frowned upon.

As a stigma I believe homosexuality will always trump cross species relationships. One is a criticism of your own species while the other is a criticism of another.

Unless of course one species was ever at war with the other. Then it isn't.

...The 60s wasn't more than 200 years ago. :blink:  And ST is a fictional series. I'm not talking about our reactions but the people in that time period.

Believe me if there was actual aliens on ground I have little doubt there'd be a far greater stigma being in a relationship with them than being in a relationship with a human of any gender. The whole US vs them mentality.

Garrus and Thane seem very much heterosexual to me. Garrus seems more like a best buddy to a male Shepard and Thane had a wife and has a kid.

I'd say my list would be:

Liara - Either, although she seems to fit Femshep better than Kaiden

Ashley - Male

Kaiden - Either

Garrus- Female

Thane - Female

Jacob - Female

Miranda - Male

Tali - Either

Samara/Morinth - Either

Jack - Male

Kelly - Anything with two legs

I suppose I should say something forum related too...

Jacob shouldn't be for femshep, he should be for Kasumi.  That girl wants him way more than ANY of my shepards.
