Namely at the load screen the computer is not flipping up and all I see is on the tab at the end is a message That I think is  "connected to EA servers" or "not conneteced to EA servers" I can't tell.

A screen is SUPPOSED to come up accessing to the Cerberus Network so you can access the free DLC included in this copy. At least that's what it does in the 360 version.....

The cerberus network is down, guys. You can still download your free dlc including the comic by using the given code in the psn store.

What about Kasumi, Overlord, Zaeed, and the other DLC like the Normandy's crash site?

Kasumi and Overlord aren't Cerberus Network (at least on 360).

However they come free with the PS3 copy. It is: Kasumi's Stolen Memories, Overlord, and Lair of The Shadow Broker is free with all new copies of ME2 for PS3. What i'm thinking is that they're within the Network sort of like the Normandy Crash Site DLC all you have to do is go into the network but with that being down we cannot test that theory.

Though with all new copies of Mass Effect 2 for PS3 we get: Kasumi's Stolen Memories, Overlord, and Lair of The Shadow Broker for free. I'm wondering if they're doing it like they did with the Normandy Crash Site, and the other beginning free DLC with it being on the Network. I cannot prove that theory with the network down.....but it's a thought.

I don't understand why one of the moderators can't take a second to come in here and confirm or deny your hypothesis. Unless they've already done so somewhere else and we missed it...

if I remember right, Kasumi, Overlord, and Shadowbroker are on-disk already, you don't need to DL anything for those ones.

The rest of the stuff should be grabbable through PSN using a code included in the box... if I'm not mistaken (I might be, I'm not 100% back up to speed after the holidays here)

Oh, if you're right, Mr. Lamden, that would be terrific. I'd still miss Zaeed until this is resolved but that's certainly a good start! Thanks! (I hope.)

I'm actually speaking with an EA agent at the moment; they seem a bit confused as to what I'm asking but I'll post the results once it's cleared up.

Garcia: Hi, my name is Garcia. How may I help you?

2363989632: Hello. My question today involves the PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect 2, released today. I activated the so-called 'Cerberus Network Code' that came free with my software but I don't seem to have access to the free DLC. My friends who have the 360 version of the game said to go to the 'Cerberus News Network' portion in the Extras screen but all it says is 'Connected to EA Servers'. Is something down?

Garcia: Which DLC are you referring about ?

2363989632: I think there are several, actually. They're called, uh... Lair of the Shadow Broker, Kasumi, Zaeed, Overlord. Maybe a couple more? Not entirely sure. But I know that these in particular are all promised free on the back of the game box and I'm a bit confused as to whether or not I need to wait for the CNN to function normally in order to download them, since that's what my 360 friends said they had to do for theirs. (They had to purchase it, but we're supposed to be getting it for free.)

Garcia: There are some DLC free with the cereberus network as comic DLC

Garcia: Have you redeemed the cereberus network code in PSN store ?

2363989632: I do believe so. Whenever I boot up the game now it immediately searches for Downloadable Content, which I've been informed is a sign that I redeemed the code properly. When I click on 'Downloadable Content' in the Extras menu, though, it sends me to the PSN store entry for ME2 with all the weapon and armor packs you need to pay for. I believe the comic is working just fine but I'm curious as to whether or not the other free DLC will be available when I progress far enough into the game to see it.

Garcia: Please wait

2363989632: Sure.

Garcia: I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you. This is a temporary issue and our engineers are already aware of this. They are working to resolve this as soon as possible. I would advise you to please wait for some time and then try again to login and play the game online. If the issue persists, you can contact us again. We will be happy to assist you.

2363989632: Thank you for your time.

Garcia: Your welcome ^^

(In retrospect, I looked at the back of the game box and realized that technically nothing in particular is promised... but uh, she got the point.)

a quick way to know if the DLC is going to work with you / what ones you have at the moment, is to check the galaxy map, or your messages in game when you get far enough along now that I think of it.

Also now that I think of it, so long as you have the dark horse comic thingy, you shouldn't miss out on anything if you don't have any DLC and DL it shortly into a play through of the game.

Well that's good to know and great advice. I'll get back to playing now. I have no intention to rush through the game so I don't need to worry about going too fast to recruit Zaeed or anything.

Thanks again.

I can now confirm that everything intended to work seems to be working fine, by the way!

Really? Cause at the menu screen before you start the game, the laptop that's supposed to open and display a link to the Cerberus Network, STILL doesn't open! So please explain how everything is working because I don't believe you.

The Comic starts on a new game and Zaeed is where he's supposed to be. Considering the Cerberus Network is also supposed to be shutting down over the next couple of days (except for a few special announcements later in the year), not having it open isn't really a surprise.

I purchased ME 2 from the PSN store and shouldn't there be more trophies included with the DLC. When I see the trophy list for Mass Effect 2, it only shows the defeating the Shadow Broker trophy and not the ones for defeating the Shadow Broker Assassin, completing the Lair of the Shadow Broker on the hardest difficult setting and the intel collecting. These last three were achievements on the XBox 360.

Cerberus Network is not shutting down.  They're going to stop doing Cerberus Daily News, which is NOT the same thing.  All the Cerberus Network really is is a marketing label for "DLC we're not charging you additional money for if you buy new."  You enter a code, and you get access to some stuff.  It's not like that stuff magically vanishes when they stop doing the little news stories.

Just wanted to pop in to say that the second laptop in the main menu remaining closed is intentional on the PS3, that laptop just never opens.

And I was correct in what I stated previously, you get the cerberus downloadable content directly off PSN with the use of the code included in the box with the game.

I was just wondering, will the ps3 ever get the Cerberus network messages, or will it just stay closed indefinitely.most notably, will we get the pre-dlc/pre-ME3 messages
