I don't have PS3 but thank you PS3 for being glitchy and giving us leak from patch for new ME2 DLC!

I was very disappointed that there was no Conrad Verner cameo in the PS3 version. According to another topic, he was killed depending on your actions in ME1 if you didn't use paragon/renegade action. I kept him around so I never noticed this. But since its the PS3 version, BioWare could have erred on the side of keeping him! I was really looking forward to shooting him in the foot come the bar scene. Afterall, how will he team up with the Reapers and take his revenge in ME3?

My only other feedback is technical, the load times are atrocious. I don't want to change decks on the Normandy because they take so long to load. Other than that, thanks BioWare!

I never had any of the glitches people speak of, the big "it ate my game and my PS3" ones. Only a few that I think I've had on the 360 version. Well Miranda fell off the Collector platform in the middle of a fight...but oh well. No loss there. Also in coversations with team-mates Shepard would vanish. You'd hear her/him, but they weren't there. The comic was missing Feros, this bugged me a lot. I was paragon for all my decisions but wasn't allowed to be paragon for Feros. So you end up with this part of Shepards previous adventure where he/she went nuts and killed a bunch of people.

I downloaded the patch last night but I don't think it's fixed everything, as a matter of fact I think it has made things worse. Did the Suicide Mission last night and there are large chunks of dialogue missing form Shepard and EDI. It was very wierd watching Shepard give his big speach right before going to fight the last boss but there was no sound coming out of his voice, thankfully I had the subtitles on otherwise I would have been very angry instead of mildly annoyed and confused.

Great game I just wish it was longer! The combat system is probably the best out there! In fact I liked the game so much, I played through it three times! (I can rarely say that about a game!)

My two cents on the game:
I have neither an Xbox nor a gaming PC so had never played ME1 before and didn't know much about it. When I heard that ME2 was going to be released (and saw all the praiseworthy reviews) I went back and read about the story on the ME wiki. I also watched a few ME1 play-through videos to get caught up on the story.
The inclusion of the DLC and the comic to get around the lack of an importable save game really sold it to me. Though the comic is short it does the job of quickly creating your character and the whole package felt like a GOTY edition and good value for money.
Am currently about 40 hours in (with male soldier Shepard at level 22) and am ticking off all the loyalty missions, side-missions and assignments before I go after the Reaper IFF. I can be quite an obsessive completionist when a game's fiction is good and in ME2 it's awesome.
Although the dialogue can be a little cheesy at times the game has much greater attention to detail than so many other titles and really draws me in. I was playing Assassins Creed II before ME2 and I thought THAT had an involving story - but this blows it away! Have encountered no major bugs and am not bothered by the sometimes lengthy loading screens but have been backing up my saves after reading about the possibility of corruption.
Regarding the story, I agree with some that it might have been better to have more story missions in addition to all the dossier missions - getting the call to arms from Martin Sheen as the illusive man is awesome - which is why I'm saving the IFF mission til last!
All in all a stellar title that raises the bar for games and creates a world that I really enjoy escaping to whenever I get the chance - am already looking forward to ME3!

Besides from the audio glitches, which is annoying, but still bearable.

I also experience alot of framerate issues. It all started when i was on the mission to recruit Archangel. In the end of that last fight before the cutscene, it really started to lag.

I thought my PS3 would freeze up a couple of times.

Ever since then i've experienced alot of lag at times, still playable i guess. But it's quite bad.

I don't remember which mission this was, but it was one of the first big aircrafts that i had to take down, we were alone in a big room and the aircraft came from the left. (if you look at that room from the door you came through)

When i killed that thing off, i had about 2 frames per second, lol.

I could barely move for a while.

And basically every time the game auto saves the game it lags for a second.

I don't think other people have this many issues, so i don't really know where to turn.

My PS3 is a 250GB Slim and it's only a couple of months old, and all my other games run just fine on it.

I'm thinking of reinstalling the install data to see if anything changes, if that's even possible in this game.

If anyone, BioWare or a user sees this and feels like they could help me out, please send me an email on xbit chx@ho tmail. c om.

Without the spaces, lol. Getting paranoid about bots stealing it and spamming my inbox. :)

I'd like to add that the game is playable, but the experience is cut in half at this point.

very awesome i really enjoyed the game. This was my first MA playthrough being as i missed MA1 (would love to see a PS3 release.)

the graphics looked great and the gameplay was very fluid and easy to pick up.

squad members were well designed and diverse and i really didnt dislike any of them.

my only gripe (very small) is that there went alot of side missions outside of the squad missions. I just feel that with the size of the MA universe there could be SO many things to do it is really limitless.

Overall great game, loved it on the PS3 and will def be getting MA3.

My first playthrough was fairly bug free. There were little things such as the Hammerhead going through the ground partially or the slighlty bigger loss of textures on the Hammerhead levels, but I didn't experience anything game stopping.... until the end that is. When I've been playing the part where you fight the Reaper occasionally the game likes to crash when you defeat the monster and just hangs on a blank screen between finishing it off and the first cutscene afterwards.

Though I have to say as a PS3 player the comic was a nice intro and gave some attachement to certain actions, but not when it came to who I saved or who I romanced. Those things are more personal and come out of a play style and having experienced it in game. Meeting Ashley in ME2 and then just saying bye was a dissapointment. I felt nothing for her character either way. I think for ME3 Bioware should show some cutscenes from ME1 (and probably ME2 for those playing catch up on that). It would give players more understanding of the events of those games. Though I wouldn't necessarily put it in the openning sequence of the game, but in the extras option to view at the player's choice.

Patch seems to be causing sound issues, mainly a buzzing sound only present during the game nothing to do with the TV as I tested.

Also they aren't finishing their sentances. Words are getting cut off and that wasn't happening before their patch that fixed nothing was applied.

Hey there, new to the forums. Just wanted to say that BioWare, great job! I love Mass Effect 2 and the world that you

have created here. Despite the fact that i will never be able to play Mass Effect 1 in it's entirety, i still very much

enjoyed ME2 on my PS3. I mean sure, there were some hiccups here and there with the audio, especially when it was

supposed to be synced up with the action on-screen during cutscenes, but the game plays and sounds great for the

most part. I now highly anticipate the "arrival" of the DLC and Mass Effect 3 :)

I'll say this much...ME was the only reason I'd own a 360 in addition to my PS3...I've actually commented before about envying the 360 for having the Mass Effect series as exclusive, so I was uber geeked when ME2 came to the PS3. Outstanding job porting it...as I understand it the PS3 version looks superior to the 360 and even though to Xbox fans ME2 was old hat, I really enjoyed it. Thank you EA for having the vision to move this over we PS3 owners can enjoy it too, and thank you Bioware for an outstanding job not merely just porting it over, but enhancing it too. The comic was good, but having never played ME1 I felt like I missed out on something. Still, it was nice to get the backstory in something other than text so you don't feel like you're dropping into the middle of the series without any rhyme or reason. There's a lot of little details in ME2 that make it great...from the codex system which unlike Dragon Age features voices and pictures alonside text which made the presentation seem more like something the developers wanted people to utilize. I liked the comprehensive explanations for the ME universe, from the races to the planets which each have their own special profile and description. You can just tell that Bioware really put a lot of effort into this game from the news broadcasts, to the hologram ads to the space fish and hamsters. The story was great, and hearing that if your Shepard perishes in ME2 he/she stays dead in ME3, no going back was really, really awesome. Like Demon's Souls unique innovations and approach to online play could influence games from here on out...Bioware's carry over system is something every planned series should have; especially when you create a deus ex machina (I'm looking at you, Bethesda). The only criticism I have is female Shepard and male Shepard move exactly the same...not a problem with my macho male Shepard but it was kind of funny to see my female Shepard in an evening dress running like a dude...good thing mine preferred Liara, I suppose. It's nowhere near a deal breaker but it does cause some issues with immersion...and I'm sure female gamers were probably more put off about it. Still, other than that small criticism (oh and planet mining was kind of boring...I wonder if there's a way to hire miners when you don't feel like doing it?) the game was everything I hoped it would be.

Technically, it is as good of a port from the XBox to the PS3 as I have played. Usually multiplatform games look and play much worse on the PS3 than on the XBox 360, and this one looks just as good as the original.

I never had any savegame issues, but that is probably because I tend to play only about 2-3 missions at a time.

The comic is o.k... It is much better than having nothing at all.

I thought it was really good, except for the Overlord Mission, which looked terrible. I also had issues with the rock jumping in that mission,

If anyone from BioWare reads this, thank you for this tremendous game you have given us. I own a PS3, and that's it, but I had looked at Mass Effect from afar since the original's release. When they announced that Mass Effect 2 was being released for the PS3 (I watched it live on a stream from the conference), I cheered.

Thankfully, January 2011 swung by, yet even though I pre-ordered it, I didn't get chance to play it until February. I am glad to say I experienced no glitches, and it is one of the best games I have ever played. I mean Top 3 stuff here: truly magnificent work.

Mass Effect 2, also, works well on it's own, thankfully. I liked the way Commander Shepard seemed like he had a fairly mysterious past, and people from his past would pop up from time to time, and you could roleplay and act as if you knew exactly what happened.

Mass Effect 2 is not diminished at all by the absence of Mass Effect 1, and the Genesis comic is a really nice touch to include major decisions.

Mass Effect 3 is a Day 1 purchase for me, and I cannot wait to see how it will play out, over multiple playthroughs :)

Thank You for giving us such a fantastic game!

I'm only at the beginning of the game but am already really enjoying it. Just finished the first mission and am at over 2 hours played! The lore is excellent, the comic book to catch up with the story is great cause I never played the first one, I'm impressed with the way it blends a good story, rpg elements, lore and shooting (30+ headshots already :)). I can't wait to stick it on again later.

Finished game twice ... excellent game .. playing for a third time and still discovering new stuff ... love that feeling .. and the combat is visceral on high difficulty levels (Hardcore and Insanity).

Only technical problems are very minor skips in voiced dialog that happen rarely (right at the end of a sentence) and freezing twice (very minor for two lengthy playthroughs) .. other than that it's working fine.

Glad to know ME3 will come out on PS3 and all other systems simultaneously.

I got a bit of a list of things that have bugged me about Mass Effect 2 (never played 1 since it wasn't on PS3):

-Levels are too straightforward.

-There's only a couple items to grab per level and everything you can interact with is highlighted with a big box around it giving it away and making it hard to miss stuff.

-The big box that highlights interactive stuff (computers, doors, items, etc) can be seen through doors/walls which is annoying when the item is like two rooms away. Even enemy health bars can be seen through walls before you even know the enemy is there.

-You can't just go rogue and kill everyone on your ship or in a city. Why not let me screw over my crew and then see how that impacts the story (maybe there's backup teammates who only work for a-holes).

-Flying is kind of boring at the moment, why not either make it more involved (you're in the cockpit flying) or add random events, like pirates trying to board your ship, or something else (I did like the collector invasion).

-I tell a teammate to go for cover, and they do, but then 2 seconds later they jump over the cover and blitz the enemy (and die).

-WTF is going on with the vehicle mission? It feels like a tech demo that got put into the full game. Sure it's cool to jump and shoot but thats all there is. And why are there circles on the ground that I have to hover over? Am I mining something? How did I know there was minerals there, and once again the game is going out of its way to tell you something is there. It should make me look for it.

Overall the game is good, the dialogue scenes look and sound better than any game I've played, and the story has left me wanting to know more, but there is a lot of room for improvement that would turn this game from good to great.

Also the first time I played the game I was very impressed by the intro scene, but then the comic seemed a bit "cheesy" almost making it sound like Shepard was some happy-go lucky guy cliche ("just another routine mission gone wrong").

Keep up the great work guys, I only mention these in hopes that you can take these as constructive criticism to make Mass Effect 3 even better.

Bioware—

I've played both ME and ME2 on Xbox360 and completed many, many playthroughs. In fact, ME is one of the only reasons I even bought an Xbox360 because the PS3 is my preferred platform.

ME2 on PS3 is a marked improvement over the 360 version. The controls are more responsive, the graphics are much sharper and the lack of video compression and multiple discs is nice. The interactive comic is great for newcomers and a nice way to try out alternate story lines and paths on subsequent playthroughs.

The critiques are few and far between: load times on the Normandy are a bit long, but not unbearable. However, the wait can make roaming the ship and speaking with the crew seem like a bit of a chore sometimes—and have also led to many dead fish being cleaned out of my aquarium… Also, the indicators for minerals, computer consoles, enemies and other items the player can interact with sometimes show up through walls. There also seems to be minor soundtrack lag in some cutscenes (the final confrontation with Warden Kuril, for example).

While I stand by the reviews that say the PS3 is the definitive version of ME2, I do greatly miss those minor NPC encounters and news stories, etc. from importing an ME character. For example, on my first trip to Illium, I was disappointed to not see Gianna or even Conrad. When I heard on the galactic news net that Kate Bowman had died it stopped me in my tracks. But I saved her and let Balak get away! And Helena Blake, Fist, Shiala…

This is not a complaint that a first-time PS3 player would have, but for us cross-platform players it leaves the ME universe with a quiet, lonely feeling. I understand that first-time players may be a little lost when Conrad starts talking to them, but no more so than when Juliana Baynham approaches them.

Perhaps there is a way to address this (assuming the data is still there). For example, perhaps if the decisions made during the Genesis comic are all paragon choices, the game could tag all of those other encounters as resolved through paragon options—likewise for renegade. Or perhaps there could be a new DLC pack (nothing like Overlord or LotSB, but more like a weapons or appearance pack) that could modify these tags. I, for one, would be more than willing to pay for this as a DLC.

Anyhow, keep up the good work.
