Hey, well first of all, I guess I should say, I'm a massive BioWare games fan. Only 14, but KOTOR I & II were the two greatest games I ever played. This is possibly the third.

The comic was brilliant. I played ME1 on Xbox360 and it was a brilliant idea to transport it. I have now completed MassEffect2, however, I think a really good thing to do would be to bring the comic back in ME3, even for those who\\ve completed it, some may want to change irrevocable choices they've made, for example *SPOILER*
What to do with the 'base' at the end, tried to avoid spoiler there :crying:

Brilliant game, BioWare, thank you ^_^

I loved it all. I loved the fact you gave us all the armor the xbox and pc have had in the past as dlc and i loved the comic. the controls are great, the me3 engine is great and it's a pretty seamless port to ps3. one downside to this game is that its bugged to hell

This is a great game, very nice job.  My only complaint is during diologues.  During some diologues, the final word/s of a sentence get cut off, just really kind of anoying.  One such converstion was with the Illusive man after the Collector ship mission.  Almost every sentence was "cut short" by a word or 2.

Thanks for putting this on the PS3, I eould have missed out on a great game.

Finished it the other day, absolutely loved it, I'm quite tempted to buy a 360 just for mass effect 1!

Only thing is, why could the comic not be included on the disc? I kept waiting to see it come up but only realised you had to download it after having got past the prologue and having not seen it I had to donload it in the cerberus pack. As it's such a talked about feature of the ps3 version, i find it weird that only people who download it as an extra get to play it, what if they get past the prologue before it finishes downloading, can they not see it?

Hi!

I'm currently on my 3rd playthrough of Mass Effect 2 and Shepard  has now replaced my beloved Lara for ultimate game heroine and knocked the Tomb Raider series from the top spot of my favourite games!

Proir to this I've never had any great interest in the RPG genre, some have looked good but not struck me as fun enough to hold my interest. ME2 however kept me enthralled throughout, and I absolutely love the combat, the great weapons and incredible biotic powers, the intuitive cover system and challenging enemies, I'd say it has some of the best fighting and controls of any action game I've played. I love the Revenant, Slam, Charge and Adrenaline Rush!

I'm also amazed by the wonderful and immersive story, and the choice system makes me so much more attached to the characters and really feel for them and want hear more about their stories. So many games I've played have had a plot that just felt tacked on, and I often end up skipping cut scenes to get to the next bit of action. ME2 is so well written, directed and voice acted that I'm still riveted on my third viewing. I also absolutely love the Paragon and Renagade interrupts, whether shoving a merc out of a skyscrapper window or giving Tali a hug they're absolutely brilliant, and wish they were in all games.

The only downsides I have found is with the very long loading times and the lack of merchandise for Female Shepard - there is literally nothing! - which is quite saddening considering I would buy literally anything! I understand that most people play as male shepard, but i'd happily pay extra for stuff to off set lower production runs.

I would however like to thank Bioware for making such a wonderful game, and I eagerly look forward to Arrvial and Mass Effect 3!

I loved the graphics, but I disliked the technical issues. Also, there needs to be more intercation with the crew and teammates.

Oh yeah, I just realized that it wasn't only my game but a lot of times in the dialogue, at the last word or second to last, it cuts off and it's annoying.

I don't own a 360 but ME was always the one game I was envious of inknew inwpuld love it. Now on PS3 I'm hooked. Reading the comics, the books, watching walkthroughs of ME1 since I can't play it. I can't get enough of this universe

I loved playing through it on my PS3, and got a bunch of my friends hooked when they saw me play it pretty much 24/7 for the first couple of weeks. There was a weird voice sync thing, but i'd wager only a glitch. The really bad part was the lack of characters from the side quests and Feros. I know I didn't help with a criminal investigation, but I still wanted the drink.

I love the Mass Effect 2 PS3 version. The graphics were just a little sharper (a lot better then on my crappy PC). The comic didn't really cover enough of the carry-overs from ME1 and totally skipped the Feros mission. I think alongside the comic you should've put some kind of questionaire for people who have played ME1 with questions like "What did you do with Bahtia's wifes body?". It would help cover all of the stuff the comic didn't, because there are some situations that the player can't witness because the smaller things weren't included.

The 2 problems I had was the AMAZINGLY long loading screens from the beginning. I loaded a lot faster on my PC. It started to let off after a while, but they were still longer then PC in the end. The other problem being the sound cut out a lot, I lost the entirety of Sheperds final speech during the Suicide Mission among other things.

But thanks for this PS3 version, I wouldn't have been able to play ME3 otherwise because my PC was running below the minumum requriements when ME2 was installed.

Well I haven't played ME2 on PS3 (except for the demo t see the new graphics). The reason I make this post is that I have a good friend who only owns a PS3 and therefor never played ME1. I couldn't get him to sign up here just to tell about his experiences but I thought it was kinda important for the devs to know how someone who never saw anything of ME1 got along with ME2.

After he played ME2 for around 50 hours I got into a talk with him. Apart from him saying that he thinks that it is a coverbased shooter and not a RPG (That's not why I made this post though don't worry), it was shocking to me that he wasn't even aware of the most basic things.

He didn't know what a Reaper is, for example. He understood they were a thread but didn't get that they were these giant AI-controlled ships. (he thought they were some old race and that they use those ships in battle)
The Asari were a corrupt race of strippers and criminals for him and he didn't even know they were monogendered.
Bringing up anything related to ME1 that was mentioned in the comic resulted in
"What?"
"The thing, explained in the beginning?"
"Oh, that, yeah whatever"
(He didn't care who lived or died on Virmire for example and barely even remembered the decision. Same about the LI)

There were a lot more of these examples, but you get the idea. For some reason he never cared enough to look at the Codex and then it all turned into a ride through random stuff for him, that only kept him playing because the gameplay was entertaining and diverse. His comment about ME3: "I'll probably get it but not before it's 30$ or less"

So yeah... A problem of understanding the story resulting in a lack of immersion. (Personally I'd blame the comic that rushed through the events of ME1 without making anyone really care about what happened there)

Hope that helped a little bit. GL with ME3 Bioware

Hi!
I was in the exact same position as your friend but didn't have any trouble in understanding the backstory, the comic could have been a little longer admittedly but it was easy enough to get the gist. All major plot points were covered explicitly, it sounds more like your friend just wasn't paying attention rather than it being Biowares fault!

Amazing I don't know what Gamespot was smoking when they reviewed the PS3 version must of been a 360 or PC Fanboy IGN got it right when they said it was the best version, but I can't recommend buying it if you have already played the 360 or PC versions.

As far as the comic goes it was Meh but still light years ahead of not being able to pick your own path from the first game.

Thank You for the brilliant game and thank you for doing an excellent job at porting this masterpiece to the PS3. Now we PS3 players finally see what the fuss has been about.

My only complain is that its released on so close to DA2 now im having trouble picking which one to play, when i play one game i constantly think of the other,..lol.

Whenever I look for Mass Effect 2 advice on youtube I always see almost countless Female Shepard designs using this hair-style!

Can Bioware add this in for consoles as well? It looks damn cool and badass and it ain't fair that PC modders can use them!

Well, it is fair, as they have the tools and freedom to do so. Consoles on the other hand do not, so can not. No question of fairness ;)

The technical glitches present in the demo seem to be missing in the retail copy thus far (yes!!!!!) Saw no evidence of V-synch (screen tear) and must say the game looks SHARP.....character models looks excellent, as does the sound work - Bass seems more impressive on the PS3 than the other console

This is exactly what I wanted to know. Right, that decides it, I'm picking this up next time I have spare change. The sheer appeal of being able to play ME2 without needing ME1 to have some control of pre-game history appeals to me, mostly because ME1's tedium levels make it a chore to play through every time I want to alter something about ME1's events.

Well, the obvious answer is to take a hint and include it in ME3, then, isn't it?

(That said, it doesn't really make sense as a hairstyle for a military gal...)

I think I did a quick post a week or so ago, but now I have played it much more so I can comment more confidently.

First and foremost, thanks SO much for putting this game on PS3.  This may be one of the best/most enjoyable games I have ever played.  You got me hooked, I haven't played another game in the 3 weeks since I bought it.  The variety of play is unparalleled, which is a very rare thing these days.

The comic:  I ralley think you guys/girls did a great job on the comic.  I have not played ME1 so I can't comment on how well it ties everthing together, but I feel I have a very good feel for what major events transpired in the first.  I like that it is interactive so I get to make some choices that effect the ME2 storyline.  That being said, after going through the comic 4 times now, it would be nice to have an option to "get to the point" so to speak.

Complaint:  My only real complaint comes with sound and dialog.  This is not an every single minute type of problem by any means, but it is often enough that it is a really annoying thing and disconnects me from the experience.
Sound Sync issues are the biggest complaint for me.  It really takes you out of the experience when during a cinematic, like entering the boss fight on Purgatory to get Jack, the boss fires his gun and you hear the shot 2-3 seconds later.  It is almost as if the sound of him speaking and firing just can't happen at the same time for some reason.
My other complaint was a bigger deal for me on the first play through.  Some dialog gets cut off, like the last word or 2 in an NPCs sentence.  It was really annoying/disconnecting, but now that I am skipping a lot of the dialog on subsequent play-throughs it is much less a problem to me.

Fix the sound sync issues and I would have nothing to complain about.  :o

I am very dissapointed in this release. Nothing wrong with the actual game, it's probably one of my favourite games of all time, along with the first Mass Effect. The reason I'm dissapointed is all of the technical issues that plague this version of the game. I'm really hoping Bioware will take us PS3 gamers seriously this time and actually fix the issues. After Dragon Age Origins, many players vowed to never buy a Bioware product for the PS3 again, I didn't do that. Now I'm seriously considering it because as the saying goes "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me". As much as I want to play Mass Effect 3, I'm not getting fooled again Bioware.

I second that. Major nuisance! Also lack of sync between sound and visuals. Really takes away from the overall experience. Other than that: New favorite game. Thank you for bringing it to the PS3.

Despite the problematic launch and the occasional drop in frame rate and glitches I have to say ME2 on the PS3 is a fantastic experience and I can't wait for ME3.

Firstly, I do have to say that Mass Effect 2 is in my top 5 games i've ever played. being 18, that may seem a bit cheap to you, but for me, it is the ultimate. very little, (ok, Uncharted 2 and Jak 3 only) beats it.

However, there are only a few niggles.
I do occasionaly get full console freeze, which forces me to perform a illegal shutdown. I have got a 60GB PS3 though, which is ancient, so that's probably why
Also, did manage to flash through the scenery On the Shadw Broker base. walking towards the stairs to the video place (which is a nice touch, btw) i managed to get on a ledge, be frozen in place for a few seconds before rising up into the scenery for another couple of seconds before being deposited on the stairs rather neatl. not game breaking, but not perfect immersion either.
And, finally, though this is more plot related, am a bit gutted that the special ME1 quests weren't available. I understand the difficulties with the decisions, but could they become available as part of some DLC? Apparently, shooting Verner is the height of cool nowadays.

Apart from that, can't wait for Arrival!! (And ME3, of course.)

thx!
