The controls are AOK. Totally good. So happy you guys used R1 for shooting instead of R2. Perfect decision.
As far as like, glitches and the like, I've only ran on one on that planet where you meet up with Tali. Somehow I ended up, like, on top of Miranda. I had to save and load to be able to move again. Besides that the game is running smooth as silk.

Wandering why is EA knows my email, my cerberus account and my PSN id and 360 one, why my crap didnt carry over to the PSN? There was free Dr. Pepper codes etc that gave you visors etc for free on 360 and PC, but the PS3 has to pay/ doesnt get them at all?! Where is my collectors suit as well? Do we have to wait for you (Bioware) to update and link that crap or that's just gone in cyberspace? Wish the game was in full 1080P, but it looks amazing as is when playing, but why not the cut scenes in higher res? Last thing for now, The LOAD TIMES... What changed in the ME3 engine?! It's still super slow loading even when installed! I hoped the ME3 engine would take care of loading... FF13, though not perfect, didnt have any loading.
PS: I was hoping that like someone mentioned earlier, that the comic would be ingame assets from ME1 and be still shots with VO. It did it's job and let you make some of the choices, but there were some choices I wish I could still make that made my heart sink some when I realised I couldnt make the decision for it and a camio wasnt there... The art was ok, but I didnt care for the style. Felt like a old archie comic for the 80s or something with the color and ink job.
Few glitches with cover on virmire, but nothing game breaking.

I did like the interactive comic beginning but didn't like the hologram of Shep.
Why does it make him look soo wide?
overall 360 - A+
PS3 - B

After playing it for about 7hrs, I can say I absolutely love the new lighting! The lighting and textures look amazing now. The lighting is more realistic and sets the atmosphere a lot better than before. It makes the whole game feel new and like your actually there and not with fake lighting that has you questioning where the lights are in the room. There are a few places you can tel they skipped over redoing the textures: The prison to get Jack... They clearly look (guards etc) like there textures weren't updated from the 360 version. The quality on them is day and night.

Now the comic gives me a 15 minute way to set up the major decisions so I can play through the game with the important decisions made. For example I didn't have a save file for a Shepard who romanced Liara. Now I can experience lair of the shadow broker from that perspective without having to get ANOTHER new 360 and playing 15+ hours of Mass Effect.
Not to say it wasn't a great game because it was but I beat it around 10 times so... its nice to be able to set up my Shep's backstory quickly and to play it on a stable piece of hardware.
EDIT: Graphics look better to me. Reviews said it was negligible but I can see a difference.

Anyway, on to my thoughts.
-All the technical stuff and controls are great, save a rather long install time and load times being a bit longer than I'd like. However it's still preferable to my comp, where it crashed constantly.
-The prologue before the comic was handled very nicely. I thought that it did a good job of remaining neutral on Shepard's past choices without being too awkward or obtrusive.
-I am inclined to be disapointed with the comic but I can respect the problems in making it.On one hand, some key info was left out, such as the Geth. On the other hand, I realize that it was kinda dragging on by the end when I kinda wanted to get to the game.I think it was the ebst it could be without being way too long.
-I would also like to take special mention of the comic's lack of choice on the Feros situation. I believe this is a legitimate problem, particularly if the Feros decision comes to anything in ME3.
-Now for the ME1 side-quest carry over(or lack thereof.) This was somewhat disapointing to me. Now, I ofcourse understand that it would be cumbersome for the comic to include all that stuff. Which is why, should the devs actually patch it, I have two proposed solutions.
PROPOSED SOLUTION 1: When you get to the point where a person from an ME1 sidequest would reappear, have Shepard go into a really quick flashback where you can briefly make the choice. For example, when you meet Gianna on Illium, she would be like, "Shepard, remember me?" THen you would have a flashback where you'd either choose to help her or not. Then it would go back to the present and she would say either "You helped me take down Anoleis." Or "You screwed me over back in the day." Then the quest would proceed.
PROPOSED SOLUTION 2: Have all the quests as they appear in ME2 have sort of a neutral aspect, as if you actually hadn't done the ME1 quest but events ran their course to bring the quest up in ME2. For example, you would meet Conrad Verner on Illium, but he an Shepard would never have met. However, COnrad would still be Shepard's biggest fan and thus the ME2 portion of the quest could proceed as normal from there.
Both of these would take some ffort to implement I know and I don't really expect them to happen but I felt like putting my two cents out there.

Where are the small decisions in the comic, Giana Parasini be betrayed to Anolais to be loyal, what about the Arab-speaking citizens, where his wife must retention before the autopsy, or the Ganovin where they can draw on the right path, and wo the hell is Feros? So some people miss out on the PS3 despite comic because in Mass Effect 2 you experience these effects.

1) On the comic, I understand the pickle you were in and accept the comic as a great effort to fix the situation. The reason I picked up the PS3 version of ME2 was so I could enjoy the game with new characters without replaying ME1 or being shoe-horned into the default template. That said, I really recommend you offer players an advanced mode if you ever do this again, aka a button to skip the comic and go straight to an advanced config screen. There give us written out situations with pretty concept art and the choices, ala old school RPGs, for encounters such as Conrad Verner and the like. Boom, done, accessibility doesn't come at the expense of depth.
On the subject of ever doing this again, I love interlaced RPGs but for all your future ones I recommend you do this instead of picking a standard backstory like you did with ME2 on the X360/PC. The carryover between ME1, ME2, and ME3 is the franchise's greatest strength and should become an industry standard for the major players that can afford it, but it's going to require a better method than picking a stripped down canon storyline for those who are introduced or start over mid-stream. I highly recommend you release this comic for X360 and PC (free would make for good PR), and I recommend you do something similar (preferrably with the advanced mode) for ME1 and ME2 in ME3.
2) One of the first things I noticed about the changes in lighting was that I could actually see the difference between the armor material types now. I can appreciate that, jury is still out on the lighting in general. The faces seemed a bit harder to see in the two intro levels but I've always thought the game looked a bit awkward before you hit the Normandy anyways.
3) I wasn't a fan of having to buy the DLC skins/weapons again, I'm a huge fan and I can afford it so whatever, but I had to explain to a co-worker today that they're definitely worth picking up (the game doesn't have enough inventory variety without them). It felt innately wrong that those trival packs weren't included as I told him how he needs to install the game, then get all the DLC, then play it.

Firstly, when loading the game the Bioware logo FMV skips for a second or two but then everything else is fine.
Also, during that scene on Freedom's Progress that shows that Ymir mech shooting up Tali's squad it seemed like the sound was a little out of sync.

ME1 was an amazing game but it was highly unstable visually, the demo had a "Previously on" video and i saw revamped videos for ps3 that look amazing!!! people loved ME1 and a chance to have it revamped and visually stable for PS3 would make just as much money as ME2 for ps3 if not more....
and its alot better then a freaking comic book! ME1 was the birth of the word "EPIC", it introduced infinite ammo no reloads to this style of game, which was sadly removed in ME2, memorible characters awesome storyline and choices, to leave ME2 with the ***hole ending is horrible especially for people who have to show the council that they are better then them dispite how they treat you. i've nvr seen a game match up to ME1.
SO WHY WOULD YOU NOT RELEASE IT FOR PS3!?!?!?!!?! as a fan of ME i am insulted by this and hope bioware or EA get smart and redeem themselves, cause i certainly won't be wasting any of my future money on ME for ps3 until ME1 is released.

Jesus Christ, MICROSOFT OWN THE RIGHTS TO MASS EFFECT 1. IT IS NOT BIOWARE'S FAULT.
It can't, and will not ever be released on the PS3. Just accept it, please.
Anyway, got my PS3 ME2 through today and wow! What a great step up in the graphical department
I have to admit I was a little disappointed with the comic... seemed to drag on far too long, yet it missed some key points that should've been no-brainers really (Geth anyone?)
Also, I noticed the sound was almost certainly out of sync in a few cutscenes near the beginning of the game.
Apart from those small issues, the PS3 version of ME2 is incredible

I don't like that you can't do this on the PS3. All I get is "Connected to EA Servers"
Also why wasn't the content from the Collectors Edition available on the PS3? The Digital Comic, Artbook, Soundtrack and the Making of Featurette? I mean $60 for a game that's available from EA Store for $25 is quite a difference.

Are you trying to say that you spent one entire year playing 8 hours every day, 7 days a week? Wow...that gives the phrase "Get a life" a whole new meaningGeneralBacon339 wrote...
