Encounter some bugs. But the bug that has me worrying is when all of a sudden the game was black and re, so I couldn't see anything, then loading another save file, it was all rainbowish techno feel. Had to pop it out and put it in again. The only downside is now I have to get grunt again.

Wow I'm not sure what to think now Im 20 hrs in. I ran into so many glitches it's getting quite sad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVROjTygkO4

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pS2EisZDe0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz9Si-09eDQ

These glitches happened by me walking into a wall/ barricade in the citadel. I was then popped on top of some geometry and this is the result. Same happens for the other clips. Im not sure if they never thought anyone would go near them or what, but this is sad... Just dont remember running into these glitches on the 360 version back when I owned one... Oh and each time the citadel glitched, you must reload... Look but dont touch is a rule there...

Some of the other glitches happened and I just didnt think to capture them, but should have.

The others where me on Tuchunka and after you finish Mordins quest and you're ready to leave, If you click no and collect hack the panel for the money and then click to leave, you can't! You are told to press circle and circle does nothing. You're weapons are permanetly out and you cant leave the room! ONly way out is to reload!

Other glitch I ran into is Leagion's mission at the final fight, it's basically unplayable! The frames drops to 5 frames a second if that and looks like stop motion for the whole fight until every thing is dead! This is sad!!! Good luck beating it! It can be done, but it's stupid intense when you cant see or tell what's happening... The the husk on that level were randomly floating in that fight and randomly thru the level...

Other glitches are not being able to cover and shoot depending on you're wall you choose, but that's been in the 360 version so that's here or there, but you'd think a year or two of time, they'd fix this. We need a patch for this port. Bioware... Smack yourself! Glad you ported it, but very far from perfect! YOu only realise it further into the game. If I find anything else and can film it, Ill upload it. BIoware better have a separate team for ME3 or I'm going to be really scared to pick it up...

Last thing I forgot, Why the sodding stone is the AI so F-ing stupid?!  There are so many time you tell the AI were to go and they sit there instead of following orders and you die! Times where you tell them to do some thing and they claim they cant, times they are next to you then run a football field behind you when you tell them to stay put. I need co-op for some of these fights just for piece of mind more than anything. I get thru despite their stupidity, but makers breath...

Yeah i noticed that would happen with my squadmates to. It works ok most of the time but sometimes they don't listen to what i tell them or they just stand in one spot until i either save them or they die. I don't remember the squad having issues on 360, again it normally works fine but sometimes it is frustrating.

Well, I just started a New Game Plus, and I didn't get any armor or weapons from the previous playthrough. I just got to the Normandy, and I don't know if I have to go any farther to get my items. Any thoughts?

Not had this happen on too many occasions in Mass Effect 2.

Hard Lockup

Immediately after the words "You're very well informed.", in the sequence where you first meet Mordin on the Normandy.

You don't get weapons and armor on the new game +, just the experience and points I believe.

Hello everyone !

My first post in the mass effect forums I believe :)

Now on topic, the game is AWSOME ! Man I love biowares rpg's !

Played the first game on my ****ty laptop, laggy as a hamster on coffee, but the story was there anyhow :) The comic at the beginning of the game did not really retell the story all to well, but hey, I can not retell a 25 hour game in 15 minutes to evey plotline, and I do not think anyone can.

The only problem I have had so far is three things (about seven hours in to the game)

First being the probing part. Gets kinda repetitive after a while, but bets the "how-the-f**k-do-you-make-this-go-in-a-straight-line"-spacecar anyday. Someone mention about records can be played during the scanning process in the pc and xbox version of the game, might not be true, but it would be awesome.

Second is the Loding time on Normandy between decks. But the graphics are awesome so I accept this, but only have two decks or stairs between them so you only get one long loading time perhaps ?

Third being unable to register my game so I can post in all forums and show off my epic trophies ! Shame on you bioware ^^

Ow, and make the special armours helmets less stuck on the armourbody ^^

Thanks for yet another awesome game bioware ! Soon I will have paid a for one of your visits to the counsort ;)

No, you're supposed to keep all weapons and armor.  It's the upgrades that go away.

lol What the hell is with Overlord? I kind of like the pixelated crap, but it's not right. So far, the game feels good. Controls are a little sluggish from the 360 version, and I had to turn the camera speed up. Big difference is the graphics, of course. Here are my opinions on that:

I like how the PS3 version looks a lot, but it really disappointed me on Firewalker, with the frame-rates. Shadows seem to match up to light sources a lot less accurately. PS3 handles the Unreal Engine so much differently than the 360. Things have a different consistency or composition to them, almost a kind of rubber or latex. I've noticed this with other Unreal Engine games as well. Either way, the brightened look is much more natural and details seem to show more than they did in the 360 version. But there are noticeable cutbacks every where you look, most usually when alpha, reflections, shine, or transparencies are concerned. Normal mapping looks more natural on humans, but sometimes ends up looking like acne scars. Textures load much quicker. On aliens, textures aren't nearly as bad as some of the pictures I've seen, possibly due to my tv settings. The contrast and simpler design changes in some assets in the environment gives things a very rich look, that draws more attention to the environments than the other version did, allowing Bioware to show off its art a bit. But it doesn't look as graphically impressive.

But some environments have worse texture by a large degree, noticeably on the ground, like when dirt or clay is concerned. It looks so gamey and almost PS2. Some ground work like concrete, on the other hand looks noticeably more realistic and intricate. I'm sure they made some weird decisions with texture filtering (?) is all. Maybe some compromises due to less RAM, or the ME3 engine just doesn't concern clay or muddish like stuff very much. It reminds me of when Capcom ported RE4 from GC to PS2 sometimes, because of how the cutbacks are compromised, but RE4 was only cutbacks and in this game, what they did improve makes the game look a lot more life-like.

It looks more like a console game now than a PC one, and the lighting is absolutely much better. The frame-rate overall is a lot more stable. Like it doesn't stutter now when you make a sudden movement, or when it loads a texture or a resource. But when it does chug, it isn't for very long unless its in a place it just can't handle, like during Firewalker, or effects-heavy cutscenes.

Funny note on what I said about reflections and alpha: the mirror was taken out of Shepard's bathroom on the PS3. I expect the 360 version of ME3 to look better, but I am kind of crushing on this engine.  Breathes some new life into the game.

More sounds issues to report...

In the mission to recruit Thane sound delays would happen on a regular basis throughout the cutscenes.

I like how you interact with more characters in this game than in the previous one, you also have more dialogue diversity. This game is very emotinal too, I love it.

I've played through the game 3 times now.
I love what they did to the PS3 version.
And to tell you the tuth,i was never able to make a female charactor look right on xbox360.
I've got my charactor too look exacly like Ashly, after her death on my save.
The only problem i have is the X button for cut scenes, when it tens to freez on a scene.
Other then that,it's perfect.
And the comic could have been longer, but it did it's job.
If you have a Fat Ps3,get rid of it.
I had nothing but problems with them.
I had games crash the fat PS3 systems.
You even had a hard time playing Oblivion, hell you couldn't even play it.
How many of you still have a Fat PS3?
I tost my Ps3 Fat in the trash.

I've now completed Mass Effect 2 on all 3 versions of the game and would like to share with you my thoughts:

XBOX 360

Mass Effect 1 was quite easily one of the best games I'd ever played on a games console, it had fantastic graphics, great story line and a truly engrossing gameplay style.

Although after KOTOR I knew Mass Effect was going to be class I was pleased to see that it had exceeded my expectations.

Mass Effect 2 was quite simply a delicious sequel to the original, I loved the new combat syle and visual display.

My XBOX 360 experience with Mass Effect was very satisfying.

On my 50" Plasma the XBOX 360 image of the game was upscaled to 1080i. It really did look the part.

PC

As I didn't have an XBOX 360 at first I originally bought the game on PC. The graphics were even better on the PC and the customisation tools and tweaks you can do made this game perfect.

This is my absolute favourite version of the game. Displayed in 1080p on my Plasma this easily looked better than the XBOX.

PS3

I was a little worried after playing the demo that Bioware/EA would release the game with only 720p support. The demo featured a lot of screen tearing and judder and the graphics were a little off when compared with the XBOX 360.

I was however pleased to see the the actual PS3 game addressed these screen tearing issues and is very, very smooth. The Shadow detail is very different from the XBOX 360 version and it really is up to personal taste as to which your prefer.

I personally prefer the look of the XBOX 360 version over the PS3 engine. The PS3 game is let down by the fact it doesn't support 1080p upscaling (something I'm deeply disappointed by).

Although some of you may think the difference is hardly noticable between 720p and 1080p, it's actually quite clear on a 50" set (square edges and artifacts) I paid £1500 for my TH50-PZ81B Panasonic plasma in 2008.

In conclusion I will be buying Mass Effect 3 on PC and will power this through a HDMI cable to my TV. I was hoping to enjoy ME2/3 on my PS3 without the need to do this but sadly ME2 PS3 hasn't lived up to my expectations.

The genesis comic is no way to experience Mass Effect an I recommend that if you can't afford a monster PC then wait until an Xbox 360 is cheap enough to buy and enjoy the original in it's glory.

Mass Effect 1 on XBOX 360 looks better than PS3 ME2 in my honest opinion.

I hope you find this helpful if you have the PC version of Mass Effect 2 and are considering purchasing it on PS3 to use on your big TV.

ME2 PS3 isn't worth the £39.90 I paid for it.

I love Bioware and they have always made the greatest games but I have to say this is the first time they've let me down. ME2 on PS3 just isn't up to scratch.

Having played me1 and 2 on 360 and me2 on PS3 I can Guarantee  you that the graphics are significantly better then me1 and they are at least on par with the 360 graphics if not better so i completely disagree with you on that. That would also be a bad sign if this was true since they are using the new me3 engine for me2 on PS3 and would mean me3 would look worse then me1 by your logic.

I haven't got the game yet, but this seems like the thread to find those that have. When I went into the PS Store yesterday, I saw all of the DLC armor and weapon bits available -- for a price (except Terminus Armor & M490). Last I heard, we were supposed to be getting all that for free. What's up with that?

No just the preorder bonuses that PS3 fans can not get now because it came out a year ago which would be the terminus armor pack you saw for free.

Ok post them here once they are made. Gametrailers already did a video side by side comparison
of the two and it looks pretty similar with the PS3 at times looking a bit more detailed.

The gameplay is identical, and for someone who prefers the PS3 controller like me, is a lot better.

If it's glitching and freezing a lot for you, that is almost certainly your PS3, not the game's fault.  I've had no issues with that in over 25 hours of play.

Agreed.I have had no issues with the game at all with glitching or freezing. It does severely lag at some points but that only happened twice for about ...4 seconds.

I started on veteran difficulty because i found the demo too easy on normal and i am enjoying it. i died only when i rushed in too quickly with my tactical cloak on cooldowns, but that's not the games fault.

I heard there was a lot of mining to do and, holy ****, they where not kidding. I wish there was more strategy and skill to it or a rare chance on finding upgrades to the Normandy or gear. I'd like to scan everything and deplete everything i see, but feels i little pointless right now.

I also found strange there is not map for the missions. it takes place
180 years in the future and there's no area scanner or map tracker to
see the areas you've been to? It's a minor complaint, but unless EA
wants to sell the prima guide that bad
this should be in the game.

The game froze on me while auto-saving just before the prophet in Omega. That was the only time that happened.

During the Overlord mission, i had peromance issues when destroing the 3 capacitors. so bad, i was forced by the geth to take cover (how embarassing) and wait for it to pass. It run pretty smooth for the game engine that it uses...

I found this funny glitch just before you find Wilson. Looks even more creepy in motion...

Thanks Bioware! I'm only halfway done i can't wait to start a new game with a female Shepard. I'm having a blast with ME2 and I regret not getting into the series sooner.

ME2 for PS3 have A LOT of glitches, but really A LOT, at the beggining of the game I thought it would be not umpleasant, bu I was wrong, It is; sometimes the game even stops. Bioware you should look at that. I am really disapointed, if I new that would happen I wouldn´t buy the game.
