First, I’d like to say a huge, “THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!”. Until now, I’ve been playing ME on my PC with the lowest resolution possible because my graphics card can’t handle anything else.

-This game is beautiful, and it’s so nice to see it in all its high-definition glory.

-I’ve had sound issues (lagging) too, but I’m pretty sure it’s the TVs (poor refresh rate), not the game. I have a setting on my TV to increase the refresh rate (called “game mode”, ha) that has always fixed the lagging issue in the past, so I’ll turn it on and let you know if that fixes it. (I don’t generally use it because it’s not a very visually appealing setting, everything looks too sharp and jagged.)

-I really like that we were given an option to make imported choices via the comic, but when my husband played it for the first time (who has never played ME), he was pretty lost and asked me a lot of questions. I know there’s no way to get around not playing a game, but I appreciate the effort you guys put into the comic.

-I’m a little disappointed about the missing (extra) characters too.

-Mostly concerned with not being able to register the game via the BioWare site. Already registered on EA. Any news at all about when this feature will be up?

I just want to say thank you again. This is an awesome game and even though you didn’t have to, I’m really glad you brought this game to the PS3 and I hope you will find it was worth it!

-EDIT: And this was probably just wishful thinking on my part, I don't know how much would have had to go into it to make it so, but I'm a little disappointed that we couldn't do something about the femShep walking/running like a linebacker. Image IPB

have played ME and ME2 on 360 (a lot.....) And am over twenty hours in on PS3 so far (yes I have put in that many hours already my copy arrived on Thursday, a day early)I think I will still play ME more on the 360 than the PS3 tbh. My reasons are these - I prefer the 360 controller for ME, issues with PS3 include cramp when planet scanning, it is really awkward, conversation skipping is a nightmare, I have had to reload a few times because of accidentally skipping dialogue, it is infuriating the dialogue wheel has always been iffy but it seems worse on PS3 :pinched: and generally the controls for ME/ME2 seem to suit the 360 controls more.
Graphically (and I have a 1080p 42 inch TV) it looks better in some places but much worse in others. The character screen on PS3 is lovely, but there are a lot of cut scenes on PS3 where you can't see Shepard's/Kaidan's/Jacob's etc face as the lighting seems extremely poor..... It is odd and irritating.
The comic is annoying and I am not impressed with the way they have made over sexual females and dweeby men, it isn't anything like a fair comic from a female perspective, the whole bosom thing is daft. Also the comic's dialogue is poor and everything seems loaded to push the player in a certain direction and I don't like that it is not an unbiased representation of many parts of the game, the Rachni Queen never came across as angry imo. I find her fascinating and the voicing of her is wonderful, shame that the PS3 won't truly experience that :(
Anyway, I like both versions and will by ME3 on 360 and PS3 :) It is just that it is far from perfect.

Gameplay style from 1-10  - give it a 6 sorry xbox gameplay is alot more fun

Very glitchy and game freezes every now and then

The gameplay is identical, and for someone who prefers the PS3 controller like me, is a lot better.

If it's glitching and freezing a lot for you, that is almost certainly your PS3, not the game's fault.  I've had no issues with that in over 25 hours of play.

Stop being a fanboy... It's not my PS3's problems. No other game does this on my PS3 and I have a new Slim. All problems I mentioned clearly are not PS3's fault but Bioware's. You had no issues, well isnt that nice! Others who played have and are having issues! Did you look at or read any of the issues people mentioned? I know I posted some of them. I make games, play them and used to test them back in the day and it looks like Bioware just didnt test their port!  Today, I had a reletive who owned ME2 for 360 and rebought it for PS3 and he is having issues as well. Completely different issues from me and not sure if anyone else posted this, but his normandy is basically broken! He's had the norm break on him 4 times when the game would freeze and look like your tripping on acid Austin Powers style! It would happen at random while talking to someone or just walking around. No other game has given him any issues on his PS3 either. Unless Bioware and you can claim every PS3 fat or slim is broken only when this game is in our consoles, someone at BIoware messed up. If you have little patience for glitches, then the game can be unplayable to others. He's thinking of skipping ME2 and 3 now!

Another glitch my Brother just found. If you skip the comic, there are times the comic freezes and you see a still frame of Shep in his space suit before he dies throut the comic! His face just changes angles randomly and multiples each angle on the screen! Oh since I played ME1 and know the backstory I thought the comic did a decent job, but from someone who never played ME1, They dont get it. They feel a disconnect to whats happening and look at it like "save council?, Save a queen?" Why or why wouldnt I?!" They have no backstory to either and dont see how the choices effect them!

The comic was a failure. I thought it was ok since I played 1 even though a ton of choices were missing and camios gone due to it or people talking about something you wouldnt have a clue on but seem to know you. Anyone else who never played 1 and think the comic explained the first game well enough or not so much?

Might contain spoilers (since this are missing parts i consider them information ) you asked for feedback so i give it

The Genesis comic is inconsistent with the ME1 story for instance:

You know that Geth attacked Eden Prime
Nihlus has been completely erased
The Beacon on Eden Prime was damaged
Anderson was forced to give up command of the Normandy
Feros is completely left out it is how Shepard is able to comprehend the message from the intact beacon(with liaras help)
The Rachni Queen tells Shepard that her children are beyond help and needed to be put down she would have never taken those drones with her
Shepard got Intel from the council to check out an STG unit on Virmire
The Effects of the Indoctrination have been known before Virmire
The second Beacon with the complete Message on Virmire is missing
After choosing Liara as a LI i had a picture of Kaidan on my desk ?
The scenes where Udina stabs you in the back are missing it was Anderson and Shepard that took action which allowed the Normandy to reach Illos and save the Citadel

i am :crying: that the comic is not really telling the story as it was in ME1
so much for the comic i'll be back :D

oh I just found out something, There was a HUGE gamebreaking glitch that happened to me on my first playthru which I now have to go back and re beat the game... The ending start up where your crew gets taken...That started before I started Legion's and Zaeed's mission! I thought it was weird when they had a cutscene talking about going on a mission and never doing it! It acted like I went to do the Legion mission without me starting it or talking to Legion and forced me into the collectors mission to get my people back! Then I went there, no one on my team died, but the game said I took too long and Kelly died. Then I beat the game and didnt get my trophy for my squad not dying due to her death!!! I was frantically looking at all cutscenes to see if anyone dropped and no one did! F-ing fix this game BIOWARE!!!!

WOw I forgot about all that stuff! I hadnt played ME1 in so long... THat was all really important stuff too!!! No one going into ME2 without playing 1 would know why to choose Anderson over Udina or any of those important events or anything about Horizon!

I bet Bioware had no clue what to do and thru it together at the last second. The comic had potential to be cool though.

There are a lot of issues with an otherwise great game that are holding it back from being a masterpiece. I am hoping for a patch to fix most of what has been addressed so far very soon. Hopefully within the next few days, I doubt it but one can dream haha. Hopefully bioware gives us an update soon as to when a patch will be released.

Though the game has a lot that connects with Mass Effect 1, I think any newcomer to Mass Effect can play this game and enjoy everything it has to offer without getting lost

but the only thing is i'm concerned because the comic didn't seem to allow for many choices, now i know it'd be ridiculous to hope for EVERY choice from ME1 to be in there but it still concerns me that the influence that ME1 will have on ME3 for PS3 will be very minimal...i did play ME1 on PC!!! i know i'm missing somefing!

but remember

Are you sure your console is OK?  Maybe it is overheating?  I can't imagine BW putting out something with that level of stability.

So far after one day of playing Mass effect 2 on the PS3 I love it, the one thing I could not find in the box was a game manual not sure if there is suppose to be one?

I am lucky that my son has played this on the xbox360 and gave me his wisdom on how to scan planets etc but the one thing we could not find yet is the stats for the guns in game but i am sure this will turn up

Mant thanks Bioware I will be getting MF3 if the story is as good as this one so far...

Interesting. I dont understand how you were brought up or what you were exposed to, but I dont feel any of the girls in ME was over sexualized. Being used to JRPGs and games in general, Japanese are just more open about sex like the rest of the world minus the US so I dont see any of the tame things Bioware does as bad. Yes they have an ocassional butt shot, but that's about it. Infact they dont have any sexual outfits that show any skin, see-though clothes, breast physics/ butt physics, no shower or bath scenes, no feeling up the women, groping, upskirts, ice cream falling on their chest, panty shots, going around nude, transformations, tenticle monsters etc, so I cant see your point of view since Im not uptight over anything sex related or being sexy. Infact, if you watch any Italian or Spanish show, They are practically nude and occasionally expose themselves and it's just natural for their culture. The women do it cause they love looking sexy and showing off their bodies they work so hard on. A lot of women do this in the US daily so I guess it's how you were raised, how you choose to live and where you live. Ever go to Cali or Phoenix? You cant not see nudity somewhere. It's just life. So when you claim that Bioware is doing it just for dweebs, the light sexual bit they do, you might want to realize you're just not used to it. Heck I didnt hear any complaints over Jacob or any other males? Jacob has a skin tight suit on as well. He has butt shots as well, but your complaining? I'm not female, but I know a good number of them who dont understand your complaints. They like showing off their bodies cause they have them or was raised that way. Last thing to remember is sex sells and every game or piece of media can potentially upset someone. Merited or not. Everyone is different.

See the highlighted words to clear up the first thing you misread...
HTH!
Not accusing ME of ANYTHING.................. Please re read. And if you don't think the pics of Liara squeezing her breasts together is meant to be sexual then I wonder how YOU were brought up.... I would respectfully ask you not to be personal, Chris asked for opinions, I gave mine - simple. I am not a prude, I just think if the girls are being objectified (in the COMIC) the guys should be too :P It was the contrast more than the content OK?
FWIW I am a bit of a naturist in my attitude so try not to jump to conclusions based on my opinion of a comic.......Seriously.....
Also you completely misunderstood this
''made over sexual females AND dweeby men'' AND............... See? Not FOR..... AND. To clarify for you and BioWare in case they also scan, rather than read. My objection is that the men look a bit dweeby in the comic. Not that the comic is for dweebs *good grief*

The manual is on the game in the extras menu i think it is. This is turning into the future of game manuals it is video game companies way of going green somewhat. I think it is actually a good idea because many people would not even look in the manual, so this allows people who do to still be able to read it without just getting rid of them.

This is starting to sound alot more like your console is getting the YLOD as what you describe above is one of the symptoms of it. I do not want to freak you out because I could be wrong but my suggestion is to backup everything now just in case and try playing another game to see if similar problems keep happening. If they do then it is most likely the system and not mass effect 2. I really hope i am wrong because it is a terrible thing that should never happen to anyone. On top of it, Sony will charge you 150 dollars plus shipping fees to get it fix if your console is no longer in warranty. At that price nowadays you mind as well buy a new console. But anyway, i hope it all turns out ok and that i am wrong but i would backup your save files just in case the worse should happen.

Hey BioWareEA, it's really pretty awful that PS3 owners can't register their game and it would be kind of cool if you would actually give some kind of reasoning or something.

For those that are experiencing bugs or freezes: Remember that for every one person that posts on the Internet about their game being broken, roughly 24,000 gamers aren't experiencing any problems at all.

So, you know, keep it in perspective. Sorry your system or copy of the game is somehow magically significantly worse than mine, but the plural of "anecdote" is not "data" and the actual data suggests that an extremely small percentage are experiencing bugs or freezing issues.

I can't imagine what you guys would have done if you'd grown up playing PC RPGs in the DOS era. No internet to get patches or information from, just a bunch of wild guesses you could make about how to fix it, most of which required you to have an extensive knowledge of DOS itself.

I bought the PS3 version because of the comic. So, it was a little disappointing that it wasn't on the disc. Between system updates (haven't played my PS3 in a while), game installation, and the Cerberus Pack download, it was almost two hours from when I first put the game in, to when I finally got to play.

I'm liking the graphics on the PS3. They feel more vivid and cinematic. Haven't had any technical issues. And I'm looking forward to the freedom of trying out new ME1 back story configurations without having to replay ME1.

No ME1 disrespect intended. I played that game more times than I care to admit, but lost most of my saves in an RROD. Now I get to focus on playing ME2 more times than I'll care to admit. At least until March.

Especially since the back of the box outright lies and says that the comic is "included" rather than part of the Cerberus Pack.

It took me something ridiculous like 2 hours to download the CP because, obviously, the servers were getting slammed, and no way in Hell was I going to make a serious start to the game without those choices.

Hmmm. I see. Then I humbly apologise. I misread. And I grew up on an island. Not sure if that helps. I must of missed the breast squeese... But I would still assume thats just a normal thing. But the guys arent to your taste? Im sorry... Then that would be sad as a female. Im up too late... The dlc was amazing. The overload and Shadow Broker...Top notch content. It made me realize why I liked Bioware again despite this glitch filled port... Oh the first time I played SB, on the roof fight, it glitched and didnt play the sequence at the end of the fight and I was stuck wandering what I was to do next for a while when I realized it must have glitched...There was nothing to kill and I couldnt make progress. Then at the base several bad guys where just stuck in the geometry of the ship outside and I could pop them off with no effort. The sqaudmates AI is still super horrible and 60% of time they just sit there doing nothing while you handle all the crossfire or they glitch and point at the ground or sit back 200 feet behind you... I mean I thought the badguys where supposed to make your life difficult, not the squadmates... Why is only Valve good at AI? ME3 better have co-op in missions or Valve's help in making them work.

Just got it yesterday and played it all day.

I really like and and think Bioware did an excellent job with this port, but I'm disappointed by the lack of additional features that myself and other ME2 Fans complained about in the PC/360 Versions.

For example, I'd still REALLY like to know why it is that my helmet toggles off when I go to the Squad (level up) screen, and how it toggles on when I go to a hazardous environment, but Bioware just can't patch it in that it automatically toggles off during conversation like in Dragon Age. I just can't wrap my head around why, after all of the complains Bioware has received about the lack of helmet toggle that it wouldn't be included in the PS3 Version.

Furthermore, I was really hoping that they'd allow you to recruit Legion sooner in the PS3 Version since it's kind of dumb how you can't recruit him until the end of the game, and failure to do the final mission 1 mission after recruitment ends with the Normandy's crew dead, yet Legion has lines for other missions in the game!!!

So, yeah. Excellent port of the 360 Version, but I'm HIGHLY disappointed that the game wasn't improved based on the negative feedback the PC/360 Versions received.

I'm about 12 hours into the game now. Just finished "The Convict" mission.. and here is where I've encountered the most bugs so far. Squadmates that don't follow you (get stuck behind a wall or a door). At one time squadmates that don't fight. And annoying out of sync audio in the cutscenes.

Don't know if this is also the sort of feedback you want, but I finished Kasumi's loyalty mission and it still has the 'flag', to remove the barrier to Hock's vault (which I obviously did to have completed it) A bit of an 'Ish-ue', iyswim? ;-) I hate incomplete missions................ Makes me furious, lol!

I bought the PS3 version of ME2 on Friday ( launch day here in Ireland ) but I haven't had much chance to play it ( I think I've only logged in about 4 hours of gameplay ).

So far it's been a very good experince. The comic was intersting, there are alot of people who are hating on it and while I do feel that this critism is a bit harsh I must admit that I was a bit disspointed by the lack of choices, also certain things could have been explained better for the many PS3 users who have never played ME1 before, it still beats having to replay ME1 even if certain other choices are left out of the mix.

The engine has been very smooth far, no glitches ( not yet anyway, it hs only been 4 hours ). I'm not sure what to make of the graphics, there are times where I feel it looks better than the 360 version, times when I feel it looks worse and times when I can't tell the difference, maybe it's all in my head. I do remember encountering Anderson and Zaeed and being dissapointed with how they looked on the PS3 version, Zaeed in particular looked so much better on the 360 version but on the PS3 his skin tone looks alot darker and I can't see all the detail of his face, I have always argued that character in the 360 version of ME1 looked like claymation models and was shocked and dissapointed that the 1st thing that popped into my mind when I saw Anderson and Zaeed was that they looked no better than the charcater models from the 360 version of ME1.

The last complaint is the load times, it's not really a problem during normal play but there is a slight lag every time I go to save my game and as others have mentioned the load times on the Normandy are quite lengthy and unexpected. I just started palying the PS3 version and I already have alot less incentive to explore the Normandy and talk to my crew.

Incidently, did you guys add more dialogue to the PS3 version. I was drinking Serrice Ice Brandy with Dr Chakawas and I came across a dialogue option that I never saw on the 360 version, on the 360 version I usually do a toast to fallen comrades but this morning while playing ME2 on the PS3 I saw another dialogue option, this lead to Shepard asking Chakawas if she was lonely and her then her talking about Joker and his illness, she implies that the real reason she joined Cerebus was to look after Joker and that the Normandy it's crew are her family. Maybe it's just me and I never noticed it on the 360.
