So i bought Mass Effect 2 for the PS3, i am having a blast with it, but i have a question, when i was in the omega zone and entered the Afterlife club there is a corridor before the area with the poles and "strippers", when i walk in the corridor it seems that infront of me there is an empty space and i can see stars and other structures but when i approach the details begin to appear and the strippers, bar, ...etc become visible, also, in certain cutscenes it takes about 2 secs for details/places to become clearer(textures appear blurry at first then become clearer), other than this issue everything is fine, i remember having similar issues with Dragon Age origins back in the day, so i was just wondering has this happened to anybody b4, thanks in advance guys.

Ok so i just got done playing Lair of the Shadowbroker mission and might i say it was awesome. Especially since i played the first one before on the 360. I did the love thing with Liara and i kept all the decisions in the comic the same as i did when i played it on the 360. Thats something that should be put in Mass Effect 3. So not to go into details ill stop there with it.

Just played the Overlord mission. Damn, that DLC is full of bugs. First the graphics are awful, if you look closely at the terrain in the open world part of the mission you can see the very low resolution textures. It's almost as you are playing a PS1 game. Even the part where you are on foot has not as good graphics as the rest of the game. You can clearly see the difference on the character models, they are not as sharp as before. Other glitches are clipping problems and at one time my whole PS3 freezes during this mission. Ale when you talk to the Illusive man right before the Horizon mission the lightning effect are gone from his face.. he then just looks white and pale.

As for the Overlord mission itself.. I loved it. That really is some worthy DLC. Only the free roaming part could have been left out if you asked me. It feels like it's only in there to get from point A to B. Nothing else to do there.

I also have a question.. If I finish the game and create a (final) save file for import in ME3. Can I use that same save file for a new game plus? Will the new game plus saves stored separately or does it overwrite?

Weakess point is the Comic, I think the game would have been better had instead of a comic Sheperd simpley had flashbacks as he was dieing thus allowing plays to play shorts segments of the original. Not only that but the cover claims the comic is on the disc, which could mislead people who don't have an internet connection.

Missing Characters, I can understand why they have been left out but the game feels empty and less personal in some places due to the lack of this Characters from the first game.

Sound bugs are very distracting, mainly sound lag.

Kasumi and Zaeed are the worst characters Bioware has every made, due to the fact they are very 2 dimentional and weaken the plot as you can't really talk to them or get to know them like most of the crew, or even some random Npcs.

Graphics, great the improvements are obvious and welcome.
Gameplay, solid as ever.

I completely disagree about Kasumi and Zaeed. I think they are great characters. Their loyalty missions are 2 of the best. They both have great dialogue if you bring them around with you on missions too.

Whilst I agree they are good if you take them places, and the loyalty missions are good, they just feel dull and tacked on when you try to talk to them on the ship. Dragon Age never had the problem with Shale, who was a DLC companion and didn't the same problem when it came to talking to.

Showing the comic book glitch. Wow. There was so much that wasnt explained in the comic or game on what was going on, there are parts that frustraite new comers to ME 2.  If you watch IGN's ME1 in 5 mins, it does a FAR greater job of explaining ME1 so people know what's going on vs the comic that barely covers anything and doesnt have a unbais opinion on certain events. If new to ME starting with ME2 on PS3, go there. Its the only thing good to ever come out of that site... rest of ign is bullcrap.

Another random glitch I found was talking to Anderson and having him have his back turned to me and head spinning like he was posessed! That was freaky, but I believe that was in the 360 version as well? Been a while. Happened on my new insanity run. Only on 80% for trophies... I would platinum it but DS2 just dropped and I have to get through DS extraction, then DS2 singleplayer and try multiplayer before re-touching ME2. Despite my compaining over the crap that happens in this bug filled port, I am happy to be able to play it again. You know, when it lets me...

You're insain! YOu must suffer dementia for saying that about them! Especially Kasumi! She's like a space age version of 20 faces! She's amazing and that was one of my favorite missions! Sneaking around being a theif to only pull a James Bond later! You sir are disapointing... And Zaeed only wanted revenge but had a very good reason for it and a great backstory. It's like having a dethroned Illusive man in your party, but not quite as cool. I wish Kasumi had more lines though... She talks in battle but says nothing on the ship. I wanted a long conversation with her and to hear about some more of her heist...

Just wait, ME3, you'll find out she stole a Reaper... She didnt know what it was until join Sheperd!

"Oh, by the way, I have a Reaper in my garage back home...".
" I stole the Ishimura! I'm a bit worried about inspecting it though... I heard some horror stories about what happened to the crew..."

Well, just beat the full game today, as usual i tend to drag my feet when i near the end of a game i like, on that note

Things i enjoyed:

Pretty much the entire game

The cut scenes were excellently done, full choreogrophy & motion really made them stand out (especialy from Dragon ages stiffness)

The locations & "dungeons" were all very well made and pced nicely (not to much, not to little, no deep raods for 5 hours every playthru like DA)

i also really liked that most of the dungeons added in various elements (hazards, objectives, yadda yadda) it really kept the games flow fresh with no "ugh another dungeon, kill, kill rinse repeat"

The DLC missions were amazingly well done, shadow broker in particular was one of the best i've ever played, i also really liked that the locations for them were very wel made & unique, no f'n recycles like DA

The few things i disliked:

Not enough team chat, ugh if i hear garrus tell me he has to calibrate one more time i'm shoving him out an airlock

Part 2~!

No particular game breaking issues (iBethsada set the bar for that with their god awful programing) occasional freeze when a choice cut scene was to pop up, but by todays standards the game runs fine

The Comic:

I thought it covered everything quite well, i was already pretty well veresed bout ME1 from wiki & youtube vids, but i did learn a few things from the comic, if i'd change anything, is the lack of one of the gals fine asses quickly shown during intercourse lol, Still it pretty much covered everything you needed to know about ME1, if theres any complaints it's just from the usual spoiled brats here who expect bioware to wipe their arses for em, comic served it's purpose fine.

Referencing my earlier problem, it seems that a few others have had the same problem as I. They didn't receive any previous armor or weapons upon beginning anew game plus. I know that you're supposed to keep your armor and at least have the heavy weapons you got in the previous playthrough. Though, many of my friends who had played on the 360 said that they got all of their weapons.

Well, I like it so far, almost 2/3 of the way through it. I have played the 360 ver. many times, and this one does seem a bit sharper, at least in the character models. Still plenty of jaggies in some places, but overall graphical presentation is very nice for a console.

There are a few sticking points for me at the moment:

- it did freeze my console once so far, and that was on a loading screen during the Samara recruitment mission, I was on my way to the last area to get what she asked me to get, and during the loading screen it just locked up my ps3. Had to shut it down and start up again.

- I will repeat the sentiment with the Normandy loading screens when switching from deck to deck. I know the other console's loading isn't quick by any means, but it is still almost half the time though.

- have had isssues with the dialog suddenly dipping for a few moments for one character during a dialog cut scene. Not sure what's up with that or if anyone else has noticed that.

Otherwise, this is still a great game. Have not noticed any other bugs besides the ones I have listed. Good job with the QA team on this one Bioware! Here's hoping for a quick release of the last DLC!

Other than texture pop ups, glitches, framerate drops, and the missing textures in one of the planets (Overlord DLC with 6 data packets), it's good.

Overlord was very buggy. I got stuck "IN" the land several times Other than that and the freezing issues, this has got to be one of the best games I've ever played.

I was able able to play (and beat) ME 1 before my 360 died on me, and I bought myself a PS3 after it did.  Bioware, let me start off by thanking you guys; having ME 2 on the PS3 is a dream come true for me.  Anyways, here's what I think of ME 2...
Overall, it's a great game.  The story, characters, graphics, gameplay, choices and RPG elements are awesome, and I wouldn't have it any other way.  The new game + and paragon/renegade interruptions are also great.  The shooter controls are fantastic, making gunplay effective and satisfying.  Tech powers have also gotten a much needed boost, making them much better than they were in the first game.  However, there are some things that could've gone much better.  Biotics in ME 2 is my biggest letdown.  I know that they're effective, and there's plenty of variety there, but they just don't feel right to me.  Why am I shooting a ball of energy instead of hitting them instantly?  Why is every single biotic power on the same cooldown?  Biotics just don't seem to have the "oomph" that they did in the first game, and for me it shows.  In ME 1, the Adept was BY FAR my favorite class.  In ME 2, I ended up picking a soldier.  The minigames disappoint as well.  The hacking and bypassing games I don't mind so much, since they're so short, but the planet-mining game is ridiculous.  Not only is it not any fun, it takes up too much time.  The worst part about it is that it's almost completely necessary, meaning you have to participate in it, whereas you only need to do the occasional hack/bypass if you really want to.  Sure, you can go through the game without upgrading anything...but for me, that's just as bad as the planet-mining game itself.
My suggestions for ME 3:  fix the things above, in regards to Biotics and the minigames..  Also, if you could let Kasumi be a squad member in ME 3 (even though she's a DLC character), I'd appreciate it.
I apologize for the long post in advance.                                    -castem

So I just finished the game today and wow!! What and epic game!

This has officially become my favorite game (Replaced Uncharted 2)! You guys have done such an epic job! Virtual beers for everyone at BioWare :D!

There was one game breaking glitch though, and that is the corrupting of saved games. Thankfully that has only happened once after the first few mission.

Great work guys! Bring on ME3!!

Holograms need sorting out, it looks a bit dumb when half the screen is empty and the other half has a slightly fat and small person in it.

EDIT: Scratch that it appears to not be an issuse on a HD tv

One thing I have noticed, and I don't know if it's different from the other versions, but when "peripheral characters" are talking during gameplay (i.e. customers convos in the stores/squad members comments), specifically in the Citadel, their mouths don’t move. It was really weird to see Garrus comment on Harkin being arrested while having no lip motion.

Hey Bioware I love your games and I am a HUG fan of the Mass Effect games

The comic gives first time players a good view into the story so than they have a clue of what is going on. I know that the comic was the only why for the PS3 owner to learn the story and I (and many others) thanks you guys for your hard work B)

But a feedback cannot not all be red roses :pinched:

The PS3 version sure looks good runs well... most of the time and that is thanks to a few bugs and glitches right now that stops the PS3 version from being 100% pure awseome :?

1.  Many times I heard all kind of sound glitches, all from missing dialog to missing sound effects and this I have never experienced on the Xbox 360 - or the PC version.

2.  bugs and glitches are nasty here and there but most in the DLC. It is worst in Overlord and the firewalker DLC and I even saw my first glitches when you talk to Jacob after the fight. The Shepard stands of the picture and I could only see the left arm and Jacob was facing the floor in mid air  :police:

This bugs and glitches er random most of the time but the DLC part is REALLY bad and unplayable

I've started a group to promote a solution to the lack of ME1 sidequest followups. Heres the URL.
http://social.bioware.com/group/3585/

To continue with the topic, I felt the game was great overall in its new rendition, but the Normandy load times made things like owning fish and talking to people after every mission impractical.
