With my first play through I’ve done every mission, assignment and N7 mission that I could find. (I missed 2 small assignments that I already encountered in my second play through). Unfortunately it just wasn’t enough to reach level 30 in one play through, just an 400XP short.
A patch can certainly make this game even better. I have encountered the following bugs that need t be addressed…
Major fixes:
- Out of sync audio problems.
- Squad mates commands.
- Overlord mission (graphics and clipping problems).
- Frame rate drops.
Minor fixes:
- Illusive Man’s face after Horizon Mission (lightning and shadows).
- Kaiden picture bug.

Mass Effect 2 was a great game, I finished the whole campaign already completing every mission that are availible.
I guess I overhyped the game for myself because I was a bit dissapointed in some areas when comparing it to DAO, but then again this is not DAO. But still, I love the game. Anything BioWare makes is always pure gold, the PS3 needs some more great titles like this on its console.
One thing that kinda bothered me was that there were A LOT of crates and boxes in random places. I fully understand that it is for cover but it'd be nice if there were more "natural" objects to take cover like maybe boulders or wreckage.

I wanted to make one suggestion for Mass Effect 3 for the developers. Please put the ability to crouch back in to the game. It is one of my favorite things in the original Mass Effect that is missing in Mass Effect 2. I love the feel of the crouching in Mass Effect 1. It is awesomely implemented and I would love to see it return in Mass Effect 3.
Keep up the awesome work!

I heard saves getting corrupted and wanted to know if it was due to uploading your finished shepard into a new ME2 start.

Hiya everyone! Ive got a dumb question. This s my first playthrough of ME@ on my ps3.Love it so far. Im playing a Fem Shep and wanted to know if anyone could tell me the love interests for yhe females straight no girl on girl stuff.
Men you can romance in ME2: Jacob, Thane and Garrus
You can also romance Kaidan through the comic of ME1, not sure how the comic does it as I've only played through the comic once with no love interests. All you'll get for Kaidan in game is a photo on your desk, a fight on Horizon and an apology e-mail but there's the promise of a pay off in ME3 and the slim possibility of getting the treatment Liara got in Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC.
So them's your options (personal fave: Garrus, playing through a Thane romance atm, avoided all the youtube clips I could ^^

Hi PS3 fans.

You can post your initial thoughts or you can complete the game and then post your ideas, or you can post as you progress through teh story (maybe somethign you like/dislike at the beginning becomes somethign you dislike/like by the end).
We want to hear back from you.
Didn't like the controls. Copies off of Assassin's Creed, with weapon wheel. And with X as the button that does everything(crouch, vault over cover, etc), it felt like many buttons were useless.

Yeah, Assassin's Creed didn't invent that type of UI element. Also, the power wheel was in ME1, which came out mere days after AC1.

I borrowed a friend's Xbox to play ME1 when it was announced that ME2 was coming to the PS3. ME1 is the perfect example of a flawed masterpiece. The story and character interactions where phenomenal but the gameplay was so broken that it was barely playable imo. ME2 is such an improvement in the gameplay department that I'm not sure if I ever want to play the first game ever (unless you fine Bioware folks decided to do a complete redux edition of ME1 with ME2's controls *hint**hint*).
I hope that this isn't considered advertising since I am not really selling anything but if anyone wants to read my full review of Mass effect 2 you can check it out here.
The short version: Mass effect 2 is a landmark of video gaming. All Playstation 3 owners need to buy this if they want to experience one of the best games of this generation. I salute you Bioware! I cannot wait to see how this amazing saga wraps up with Mass effect 3.

Dude its called usability, it makes it easier for people of all experience levels to pick up the control and play the game. Having buttons everywhere is pointless if you can make it work well with just the one. Its like Metal Gears, 3 buttons to aim a gun in someones face it ends up not being worth the effort.

What I liked:
I love the dialogue, I laughed hard both at Garrus' quip about no one paying any attention to Sheppard and when Jacob Taylor suggests that Tali should spend some time getting acquainted with EDI (to which Tali gives the f-u body language to Jacob).
I love stumbling onto side missions during planet scans. Playing pretend geologist is fun enough, but it's more fun when you know that you might discover an anomaly at the next planet.
The general mythology of the races and their interactions as provided by the codex are also a huge plus. They provide a very well fleshed out universe that my actions take place in. I also loved that a large portion of the codex entries had voice overs. On one occasion I did my dishes while listening to various codex entries.
It can always be said that all missions are the same if you abstract them enough, in any game. That being said, the missions have provided a wide spread of situations. Sometimes you were just fighting your way through waves of bad guys, other times you were trying to fight your way out, and occasionally you weren't doing much fighting at all for a sizeable portion of the 'quest'. In addition to this, there are also different types of enemies requiring different tactics, be it Blood Pack (Vorcha/Krogan), Geth, Eclipse (Vanguards/Engineers), Droids, or Thresher Maws. I am not a huge shooter fan (although Resistance Fall of Man was a blast, because like ME2, it had an engaging story and an interesting world that it took place in), but the combat is pretty engaging. There's a learning curve too, which allows the game to be playable the first time, but also offers a challenge in attempting to master it. From time to time I start thinking I've got it figured out, and it's at that moment that I realise there's more things to figure out.
Minor improvements that could be made:
The on-disc manual is ok, but it would've been nice for a little of the in-game learned information to be in that manual. For example, the rock-paper-scissors dynamic of warp, incinerate, and overload as well as single fire/multi-fire vs. various defenses is information that would be useful to know prior to the first playthrough. Obviously, by the second playthrough these dynamics are more clear. It would be nice to see how the various classes develop prior to starting the character. It would also be useful to have this new and improved manual accessible from the pause menu in game.
There is one mission where you tail a character, which is a nice change of pace, but the mechanics might be tweaked a little bit. There were a couple spots that threw me off, in one spot they went through a door, and I only realised the second time around that it was a store not a hallway. The first time I was frustrated because there was no way to get a view of the space he had enterred. Sounds stupid now that I've played it through and I know the intent, but it's something that probably didn't need to be confusing the first time. If it's a matter of seeing from the right viewpoint more than doing a good job of following, maybe the approach should bring a player to view the door as going into a shop, rather than seeing the characters walking beneath your catwalk to some unseen destination.
Major improvements:
Obviously you've read about the glitches that people have run into on the PS3. Many games this generation have one glitch or another, and as long as they aren't game breaking, most game players will take them in stride. For example, Dragon Age Origins was such a blast, and the glitches were so negligent, they didn't ruin the game. ME2 is also a blast, and the glitches were negligent imo, until I encountered the corrupted save glitch. I'm still having fun, but I'm only playing an hour and a half at a time.
It's appreciated that Bioware has prepared a patch for the problem for ME2, and that soon enough I won't be backing up saves every mission or two. I unfortunately haven't done much programming since the Commodore 64, but whatever it takes programming-wise, there should be a giant chasm seperating save files from any game crash that might occur. Automatic saves are great, but the auto save mechanism should be distinct from the deliberative saves a person makes. If the auto save mechanism happens to crash a game, the auto save is really the only thing that should get lost in the process.

Please, please make the comic book skippable when creating a new character. I mean skippable to the parts where you have to make choices, not the whole thing. It's really annoying too have to sit and watch a slide show every time I make a new character. Please?
dude it's better than playing 40 hour of mass effect just to get those important choices down, for mass effect 360 and PC players 97% of their choices didn't really matter except for bonus paragon/ renegade points.

The item i refer to is Mining, its god awful in my opinion. It drives me away from actually playing the game and i tend to forget why i am even playing the game while mining. The best way to do the mining is to mine in the beginning so you wont have to keep mining when you need to upgrade and keep with the story. I like the fact you need resources but the way you went about to get those resources just feels degrading to the whole game.
Also people like to play this type of game multiple times, usually takes the second time around to find some of the stuff that really felt out of place. So Mining is one of them because it takes you away from the point of the game essentially.
I really liked most of everything else, i played ME1 when it first came out so when i finally was able to play ME2 on the ps3 because i had problems with my 360 almost a year after ME1 came out. So finally feeling up the Biotics for ME2, i found they felt nice. I dont remember getting the same feeling on ME1. I went with solider because i dont think i liked the way it worked, but i cant solidly compare the two Biotic systems with accuracy. Just i know i felt like, why didnt i go with this on my first playthrough.
The only other problems i have with the game is only the ones that are getting patched up soon, so good luck on getting that out to us.
But overall I just loved playing it on my PS3, i was almost about to get a 360 too for your wonderful ME series. More great series like ME need to be multi-platform so the fan base isnt limited to one console.

mining kind of blows. developers put inane mini games in to lengthen games. it's incredibly boring and subtracts attention from the main story. Though the description of the planets expands the mass effect universe it takes way from the action.
I hear that mining will play a role in mass effect 3. hopefully they'll rework that to be more revelant to the story than just needing minerals for upgrades.

I've completed ME2 in normal and insanity mode on PS3.
This is one of my favorite game I've ever played.
I've never played on ME1, so the comic book was realy usefull. I've found it very well done.
Absolutly all in this game is great exept some details like :
- The button to bypass some discutions (square) can be used to select the next dialog. When I want to bypass some discutions I may select a dialogue without wanting it.
-At the end of the game, and with a New game with a ME2 carracter import, Kelly Chambers tell me that I've got new mails but there is nothing on my computer.
-There was A LOTS OF informations in ME2 story, and it's hard to learn everything without having played ME1.
-A female Shepard character may have a male voice some rare times (in the French game).
-Talking to Liara T'soni about the position of the Shadow Broker, create a bug. This will instantly complete the mission wich requiers to pirate some computers in Illium, and the investigation to determine who is the observer.
-Not enough missions against the Collectors.
