So I just completed Witch Hunt.

All I have to say is, wow.

So anyways, I played on my imported elf mage who romanced Morrigan in the Origins campaign.

I picked choices that led me to go through the portal with Morrigan.

Now this just confuses me majorly, where did they go? What is the child's role? Does DA2 explain this?
In DA2, is your Warden a thing of the past ? What happens if I want to import into DA2 after this, if I am no longer in 'this' world?

Argh!

We don't really know the impact of any DAO choices to DA2.

It was confirmed, however, that Morrigan would not be hugely involved and would be saved for a later expansion. Atleast, that's what I remember reading, and that was a fair while ago.. so it could've changed possibly, or I might be entirely wrong in the first place. :/

So basically my question is,  having the Warden go through the portal doesn't break anything in DA2?

Nope.

All we know is that the Warden and Morrigan will not be in DA2. But the developers keep saying over and over in interviews that they are not done with Morrigan. Whether that means any Wardens that went through the Eluvian aren't done either, they have not said.

The fact that the game saves after the Warden's decision (to enter the Eluvian or not) and the devs mentioning that we can import this save into DA2 implies it may play some role, however small, in DA2. Impossible to say for certain.

So, as a female warden who was friends with Morrigan, I did not go though the Eluvian.(Honestly, I didn't feel my character would do that, and I do not know if she would have turned me away if I had chosen the dialogue leading in that direction) But Morrigan told me the Dalish book and something else ("a gift")I would be very interested in were over there(lying haplessly on the ground). My character finds the book...but that's it...What is this "other thing"? Or are they the same? Or is it supposed to be a hopelessly vague cliff hanger like going with her?

It is the complete and unabridged script of Dragon Age II - which is why they couldn't let players see it yet. The Eluvian leads to Bioware's Edmonton offices. :o

Morrigan said something about going in between the Fade and the real world or something like that. Witch Hunt made me realize that I couldn't care less about Hawke's "rise to power" because Morrigan's whole dialogue at the end dwarfs some foo's "rise to power." Anyways, that DLC was just a major cliff-hanger, and its supposed to be a 7 buck advertising for Dragon Age: 2. If we imported our warden into a DLC made for Dragon Age: 2, that would be awesome. I don't think you can finish Morrigan's story without some mention of the Warden. I hope the Warden didn't trip and fall on one of those fade rocks and break his neck. Bioware better come up with some excuse if the Warden doesn't show up with Morrigan.

I just finished Witch Hunt and I made choices that ended me staying out of the portal however she said she left something "special" for me in her camp. I gave her a farewell kiss and she stepped in the portal and I went to her camp. I went to go grab the object which appeared to be a book (2 of them actually, 1 of the books being the Elven one) but then the credits just started rolling. Did anything else get this ending? Do we know what the object gift was?!?! That is a horribad cliff hanger >_>

No, we don't know what it was. I'm not sure why people have trouble accepting the cliffhanger.

Until told otherwise, I like to think the gift was just a rough translation of the elvish book. Of course, I decided this because I happened to play Witch Hunt twice, with my two Dalish elf Wardens. :P

Hmmmm...It could be a translation but if that were it what would stop your character from using it the way Morrigan did and follow her...again? I would imagine more that it would have to deal with Flemeth...either describing what she "truly" has planned or maybe even ways to find/stop her. I know I "killed" her in DAO...but how do you truly kill the Witch of the Wilds?

I could understand if that is what it was. If the Warden ever wanted to catch up with Morrigan again, a translated book would be useful. Anyways, the cliffhanger is hard to accept because we shelled out 7 bucks for that dang DLC. The least BioWare could've done was clued us into something.

I like to think that the second book was Flemeth's Grimore.

Maybe Flemeth is an Old God, and Morrigan is going to use the OGB to kill Flemeth once and for all.

If that is true, then Flemeth saved our lives when we fought her, so that would be twice that we owe her Posted Image.
