At the very least, she should get a mammogram.

As with other people, I have to agree, the thing we should be looking at here is not the nip, but the fact THERE ARE TWO NAKED PEOPLE AND A DOG.

This whole thread is pretty amusing, and yeah the whole violence vs. nudity thing in america is pretty ridiculous, it's silly and stupid but i'm still stuck in this bi-polar country.

and to the, OMG there's a dog there! comments clearly you've never had fun with your significant other in a house where a pet has free reign to wander about. forgot to close the bedroom door in your haste? well then you get to play the exhibitionist later, it's annoying, embarrassing but also funny as hell.

I'm guessing if the OP was so excited about this that he made a thread, he hasn't seen any others.

The fact that companies are afraid to put nudity in a game? Or the fact that you THINK that we only want nudity in a game because we have the NEED to see a nipple? My main reason for creating this thread was to prove the fact that the gaming industry isnt on par with the movie industry when it comes to ratings.

R rated movie = violence, sexual content, full nudity
M rated game = violence

X rated movie = porn
AO game = nudity

this is correct in your eyes? seriously, i dont need to see an animated breast to make my day. But when you go so far as to throw a bra on a character in your 'sex scene' that hasnt worn one the entire game its complete bull****.

very true, it's an extremely messed up double standard that stems from people still not seeing video games as being capable of playing host to story and content designed for a mature audience. Honestly the ignorance of many parents doesn't help this, their kid wants a game they get it not noticing they have to prove they're above 18 to buy said game and the guy selling them the game states that the game has strong violence and/or sexual content.

As much as I applaud BioWare for pushing forward with games being both deep and engaging for mature audiences, the world is still such as it is and I'm sure the whole covering the nudity thing was done late in production to avoid another "Fox 'News' Incident" (btw Adam Sessler's commentary on the situation was spot on and gave a fair bit more respect for the man)

Censorship is a big deal to me regardless of what form it comes in. I really couldn't care less about boobies but knowing that it's intentionally censored just irks me to no end. I want to experience the product as intended. It's obvious enough to me that BioWare did pull this one punch.

one day a company will have the balls to not only put their product out there the way it was intended, but also fight the ratings board on what they know is right. one day i promise you. I really thought Bioware would be our pioneer here, but alas they decided to be cowards.

*Morrigan removes her famous outfit. PC hears the rustling and smiles, turning to look.*

Why is the game 18+ if its not even REAL nudity in it? That is the question.

But then again the american people was in shock when janet jackson slipped her nipple on the super bowl thinggy. No offense but never understood the whole "Violence and guns is allright but nudity is wrong" thing you got going lol

A lot of people seem to think that the idea of "violence okay, nutidy bad" is an American thing.  That doesn't make sense.

1.  The majority of the world's nude content is produced by Americans, working for American companies, in America.  The porno industry makes billions of dollars each year.  We have mainstream movies with nudity, and televeision shows and commercials that come damn close.

2.  Most Americans either didn't care about the Janet Jackson incident or, as I did, found it hilarious.  I was watching the Super Bowl halftime show and I didn't even notice that it happened because it was so quick!  The huge uproar with the FCC, MTV, and the networks broadcasting the game was a result of "idiots."  I say idiots but I really mean "people who watch FOX News and think that it's a legitimate news source" and "religious fanatics" and "mothers with nothing better to do than try to get their 15 minutes of fame on television."  The only reason that any of them even cared was because the Super Bowl was meant to be a form of entertainment for the whole family and there were children watching the program.

3.  The "idiots" that I described above exist in every country on this planet.  Don't believe me?  Take a trip to another country and see for yourself.  Do you honestly think that television in Germany is full of nude women?  Do you really think that there aren't video game ratings boards in England, France, Russia, China, and Australia?  Look around!  The "violence okay, nutidy bad" idea exists everywhere.  (Actually, in some countries it's "violence bad, nudity bad."  I'm looking at you, China and Germany.)

4.  I'm an American.  The majority of posters on this forum are American.  I don't agree with the "violence okay, nudity bad" idea.  I'm willing to bet a good sum that almost nobody on this forum agrees with it.  Why, then, would you believe that the majority of Americans do?  I suspect that the opposite is true.  More Americans oppose violence in televeision programs, movies, and video games than they do nudity.  Certainly most people don't want their children exposed to either of the two, but that's precisely why we have the rating systems.

I'm quite tired of the idea that Americans are a bunch of prudes while the rest of the world is totally cool with public nudity.  It's just not true!

Apart from the fact that it is American censorship that causes the changes in many films and games. The censorship on tv programs also changes across borders. If the brits want more violence it's usually available on an American or ****** version however if they want more bits it's likely on the Europian release. You can be tired all you want but that is a fact.

Honestly?

America is silly.

Go download Steam, then download the L4D2 demo ( its free! ), and play around a bit, the gore, violence, and everything else is crazy, you can blow limbs off bodies, blood spurts from everything and anything, even looking at the zombies causes arms and legs to go flying off, and using melee weapons causes giant gaping wounds in the Zombies.

Yet this is considered a good game to buy your 18 year old.

However, Dragon Age Origins, a game that originally planned to have full nudity, would have been forced into an AO rating, which would have caused sales to drop by quite a bit, I'm an avid gamer, and even I hesitate when I see an AO rating, I could only imagine what a mother would do when thinking of getting games for her kids.

How does this make sense?

Its nice to know that the ESRB thinks women are the root of all evil, and if they let us get away with our cunning plans, we will seduce all the worlds youth using our ****** to overrun the world governments

Right. Nothing to do with the constant blood and violence, or the fact that you can shiv a ten year old.

The funny thing here is that you're doing the same thing you claim Americans do.

Because an 18 year old is an adult in America. Given that 18 year olds can vote or join the army, I think they can handle L4D. Where in the world is L4D too much for an 18-year-old? I know L4D2 is banned in Australia, but they’ve decided that it’s too much for 30 and 50 year olds.

1- pornography is STILL illegal even though people look the other way.

Um, no. You can legally buy porn if you're 18 or 21 in the US. The city I'm in (Las Vegas) produces more porn than an other US city and it's regulated. Actors have to get bloodtests, health inspectors go onto the set, and the revinues are taxed.

You realize the ESRB is made up of people that were born in the 40's and 50's right? They're all old ass people that have nothing better to do than to continue the old tried and true "Morals for the people, we're going to tell you what is what even if it isn't". I would doubt there is anyone that is between the ages of 30-40 on that ESRB board. I think they are trying to tell people around the world what they should think, instead of using freakin common sense.

However, if you guys are so hung up on ****** and nipples in video games, you really need to get out and do something. I play video games to have fun and have entertainment, I don't get video games to hunt for nips like I'm in the Spanish Inquisition. Seriously, if nipples on video game chicks gets you off, go play Age of Conan. They got away with showing full breasts with an M rating, go figure.

The problem lies in the government departments, their bureaucrats and the stupid laws they enforce.
Its not the general population.
It's the same the world over ;)
