I thought Bioware had more balls than that though, I didnt think they would submit to the ESRB like that. The game is 18+ already, why worry about seeing nipples? For the children? they arent even allowed to play the game, and on any european beach they would see plenty of nipples anyways. and gues what? it does not scar them for life.



And still people wonder why America is often seen as a joke. If a woman would walk on a beach topless with a gun in one hand and a joint in the other there would be complaints about anything but the gun.



I have nothing against americans themselves but the laws are crazy over there.

It's actually rated "M" in USA. "M" is 17+, and there is also one more rank: "Ao" (Adults only). "Ao" is mostly given for sexual content. Only few games got it and publishers are trying to avoid it as much as possible because of few reasons:
- Some shops don't sell "Ao" games.
- Console producers - Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo - don't publish "Ao" games on their consoles to maintain "family friendly" image of their consoles.
I know its unbeliveably stupid, it's just how it is. In most of European countries though we have PEGI and there are no practical restrictions if a game has [18+] (except Germany and maybe few more countries).

The Witcher for example - European game - had nipples all around in European version. They had been censored for US market, to get "M" instead "Ao".

R rated movies = sexual content, nudity, extreme violence, swearing, etc.
M rated games = violence

X rated movies = porn
AO games = nudity

This seem about right?

ALL I WANT IS GAME TO BE ON THE SAME LEVEL AS MOVIES WHEN IT COMES TO RATINGS. I really dont think thats too much to ask.

There are only 24 of them and 22 of them have "strong sexual content" or "mature sexual themes".



GTA: San Andreas was re-ranked for "Ao" after "Hot Coffee" was discovered - so game full of violence, 1 sex scene and "Ao" immediately.

MATURE
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content and/or strong language.

RATED R
An R-rated motion picture, in the view of the Rating Board, contains some adult material. An R-rated motion picture may include adult themes, adult activity, hard language, intense or persistent violence, sexually-oriented nudity, drug abuse or other elements. Children under 17 are not allowed to attend R-rated motion pictures.


So we can agree that what is stated above clearly means nobody under the age of 17 should be viewing either. Now, in the mature game we see that violence is ok. Blood and gore is ok. Sexual content and strong language are all ok. As soon as nudity is placed in the game however, it moves right to AO. In the R rated movie however, it clearly states that nudity is ok ....hell it even says that SEXUAL-ORIENTED NUDITY is ok.

Now the point is, a video game can placed in the range of an X rated movie just for having nudity in it. It doesnt even have to be sexually-oriented. One breast pops out and it's porn. However, a movie can have real women (not animations) walk around for extended periods of time with nothing on. You could even throw 15 or so of them on the screen like in the most recent American Pie and have them run around.

Like I said, video game ratings != motion picture ratings. The Facts are spelled out as clear as day above proving this.
