I've noticed that a lot of people have either chosen the mage class or the warrior class for Dragon Age 2? What class will you be: mage or warrior, and why?

Mage as I am in love with the Staff of Parthalan and magic.

Warrior, because I was a Mage in DAO and THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE excessively powerful mage in Thedas.

Mage. I play this class first in most games. I like playing characters that laugh in the face of physical law and bend reality to their whim. I also like pretty colors and always feeling like my character is making a useful contribution to the party.

First playthrough i'll play as a Rogue, second as a Mage and finally as a Warrior.

I did rogue first, mage second and then warrior so that I wouldn't have melee twice in a row, but I'm going to be a mage first since that was my favorite and I want Carver. Probably followed by rogue.

Mage, because that class will probably have its own unique story driven conversations while Warriors and Rogues will probably have a fairly similar story.
That and mages are cooler.

Rogue.
Warriors are too clunky and slow, Mages are too pompous. Agility and cunning is where it's at. And of course a dagger in your kidneys from the shadows.

As with Origins, warrior first. It suits me and my play style.

I am tempted to do a mage playthrough for the first time, but that would mean bye bye Bethany and cool melee finishers so eh.... :/

Mages get finishers too now. It might not look as cool to you as carving things up with a weapon, but at least it's something.

for mages, the one finisher I can think of is the move where you tear the enemy apart. I haven't even seen a finisher for either the warriors or rogues...

plus for some staffs with blades on them u can melee and may get another cool melee finisher as a mage

So wait, melee for mages is actually confirmed? I got the impression from the trailers(spears and stuff) that we WOULD eventually get something like this, since Arcane Warrior is out of the game.

Mages can do staff melee now. There aren't any talents so it really isn't that useful.Avalla'ch wrote...

Warrior.
The Hero of Ferelden was a Sword and Shield Warrior, and I intend on having Hawke be a Zweihander Warrior

First Mage, for a more "rushed" playtrough. Then a more completitionist one as a Warrior. Maybe one "f*ck fate!" with a Rogue.
