Yep. The only melee they will do is swinging their staff at opponents in melee range, instead of using it to shoot bolts of various damage types.Lord Aesir wrote...
Mages can do staff melee now. There aren't any talents so it really isn't that useful.Avalla'ch wrote...
So wait, melee for mages is actually confirmed? I got the impression from the trailers(spears and stuff) that we WOULD eventually get something like this, since Arcane Warrior is out of the game.

I will probably play a warrior before I play a mage. I still havent beaten origins with a mage. Just had trouble getting in to it.

I still haven't decided yet. I will have to see what each class is capable of before I decide. But for the moment I think I maybe going with Rogue.

Rogue male first, Mage femal second, never Warrior...Warriors are boring...I couldn't stand playing one further than the Origin in DA:O...

Mages suck.

Warrior, simply because I think it is going to make the game a tad harder. Mages in DA:O just seemed so broken to me I didn't like playing as one. Just my opinion though.

I love magic too much to be anything but a mage, and it seems like mages will be greatly improved in this game, too.

I never liked playing a warrior, but that's just me. Mage and then Rogue.

Warrior because bashing people in the face is funner than poking them in the back with a toothpick or putting on a fireworks display for them and twirling a stick. Joking..... but not really.

My first playthroughs of games I always choose warrior types, I just think being in the thick of it head on suits me better then any other style.

Hard.
Anyway, I'll probably start as a rogue, then go mage and then go warrior. Yay ~

Warrior. I almost always play fighter type charaters as my main. Goes back to when i first started Roleplaying. One of my friends had us start a D&D game at lunch, and I wound up being the fighter. And loved it.

Mage, they take more baby sitting than other classes so even if I'm not "playing a mage" I spent more time playing the mage than any other class so I just go ahead and make him my PC. Plus, you can script all the other classes pretty well and really just focus on your guy.

Mage, I have problems playing anything else. I tried playing an Dalish Elf rogue in DAO, but found I spent more of my time in battles playing as either Morigan or Wynn, so I ditched the elf and did another playthrough as another mage.

Warrior first because...I like being a warrior then a rogue and finally mage. A mage is tough for me, it isn't as instinctive for me. I have to think more about how I want to fight. If that makes any sense to anyone.

A warrior first. I've always liked having a charecter that can go toe to toe with an ogre and still stab it in the face.
Maybe a rogue on the next play through
