Since it looks like mages are going to be without swords and armor, I'm going to ninja it up as a Rogue this time.

Warrior, because we all know what happens when you pick a mage. >_>

Rogue first, then mage and after that i'll play as warrior

Normally i would play as a warrior in my first play through but im most likely going to play as a mage in my first play through as mage combat look a hell of a lot better than they did in origins, then warrior as a definite 2nd play through

Just wondering, since DA2 has been vastly improved on consoles, what would be the best class if you were to play the game like an Action-RPG?

Mage, because the focus will be more on Hawke.
Rogue and Warrior will probably be fairly similar. So I'll leave them last.

My perception is that the story will lend itself better to a mage character. So mage.

Rouge- the stabby version

First play through rogue, I've always chosen rogue where the class is available, it has more of an independant character feel about it.

Love playing as an arcane warrior.

Warrior. I almost always play one of those first, just a big fan of having a sword and shield. Not sure if it will be a mage or rogue after that for the "evil" playthrough.

Awesome Mage Hawke looks like he's about to DESTROY his enemy

I'll probably start with a Mage because of my love of making things explode with magic....Then with Rogue, for the love of stabby-ness and stealing.
I could never get into Warrior with DA:O, mabe that'll change this time round.

I've noticed that a lot of people have either chosen the mage class or the warrior class for Dragon Age 2? What class will you be: mage or warrior, and why?
Since my style reiles heavily on Pause n' Play, I've chosen to play a mage (even because I played a warrior in DA:O and I like to have differences between the Warden and Hawke in terms of lore of my playthrough).

Rogue, unless Bioware does one of those "You have to be this class to learn this classes specialization" thing, like they did with Blood mage in DA:O.
Then I'd play whatever that class is to unlock the specialization, then back to Rogue.
Of course this assumes you can choose specializations for other PC's in the party. Based on the disappointment I've gotten leading up to the game's release, I am not expecting it at this point.

I love rogues, so my first playthrough will probably be with one. However, I'm getting a strong mage-vibe from DA2, so I must admit I'm considering first playing with a mage... In any case, warrior will be the third (as long as the game is interesting enough to warrant more than one playthrough).

I don't know why, but rogue seems to be one of the numerous words in the English language that constantly gets mispelled. Happened all the time to me when I used to use it as my internet moniker on another site.
As for the topic at hand, why not all of the above? I intend to play each class at least once.

Will definitely be playing as all three but will do mage first (fire is fun), rogue second (stabby goodness), warrior last (just because I have to).
I never found warrior to be fun at all during DAO. Maybe it was cos I always had a longsword + shield. It was very boring. And couldn’t be compared to icing all your enemies and then deathcloud-ing the heck out of them in a small room. being an annoying mage rules!
