Mangeo asks!!!

Does anyone else believe that Thane was an unneeded character?
I thought his character was a bit hollow & a complete waste of your game machines life span.
Even though the desighners kept trying to give him backstory i just didnt care if he lived or died at
the end of the game.Does any one agree?

Thane's awesome. You might argue he's a bit one note, but compared to the likes of Jacob/Jack he's a regular Odysseus.

How do you get banned twice?!

He makes the gameplay longer by at least 3 hours, he's a cool looking, new alien.

But seriously, I like Thane.

Technically speaking Miranda and Mordin are the only companion characters that are critical to the plot. Thane and Jack both seem like they were put in for some "variety" in the LI department even though I like both of them.

Thane? hollow?

I loved doing his romance story as femshep. IMO his loyalty mission is one of the better ones as well.

There's a development article/journal thing about working out the character design of Thane.  He was pretty much  created and designed for the express purpose of being an attractive male alien for female audiences (since males had the asari to look at).  He's still an awesome character though, IMO.

Here's a link for anyone who hasn't seen this before:

Each party member has a unique personality and adds to the overall experience. Even if you didn't like him personally, he does add to the storyline.

I think he's a great character, but he doesn't really have any use for the suicide mission. A segment where somebody would have to infiltrate part of the base, alone, would have been a great opportunity to make Thane useful.

What bothered me about Thane was how irrelevant he was to the outcomes. He was supposed to be a master assassin, really sneaky etc. But then he was just another front line soldier in your party. He was not useful in any of the specialist slots, so he just holds the line and maybe escorts your crew back. None of his special skills came in handy.

Talid, where are you from? You are terrible at bringing up valid arguments. Also, use capital letters when using names and when starting sentences if you want to pick on people's writing.
