Formatted the PS3 hard drive and installed the game again without installing the Cerberus pack. Upon getting to the main menu (Start new game, extras, etc.) the game froze. I have never experienced that before. I turned off the network connection to the PS3 and it didn't freeze this time.



Started a new game (none of my old data was on the hard drive) and froze immediately when trying to bypass the safe at the beginning of the game. This is extremely frustrating. This freeze has nothing to do with game save corruption and looks like it has nothing to do with any other data on the hard drive. This either points to data corruption when installing the game or the game disc I have is corrupted/doesn't contain the bypass mini game data files.



I am going to exchange the game for a new copy (thankfully I bought it from Amazon) and see what happens.

Nope, he said it is hopefully going to get through their quality checks on Friday and THEN it'll be passed over to Sony to be verified and distributed ASAP.

Wow Jesse Houston that's all I can say about how Bioware and yourself operate a great game company,I'm very impressed with how fast your people came up with a solution with ME2 on PS3.and how you took time out of your bussy schedule to come onto this Forum and Tells us that your working on Patches.Thank you Bioware and Jesse Houston and Chris Priestly for all your Hard work,I'm a fan for life.


P.S. Please Keep Giving us Playstation fans mass effect games and all other great Bioware games in the future so all consoles can enjoy your great games.

Is this directed towards my problems or someone else? I didn't see anything about the bypass freeze being mentioned in the patch thread.

Mine constantly freezes in the same spot. After destroying the Geth Cannon a the Prometheus Station, I land and enter the station. I go through the first two room and then I enter a tunnel where another door shuts in front of me and it freezes. I've rebooted over 20 times and it continues to freeze in the exact location. Any thoughts?

I cant download the game from psn for some reason, it freezes at 24% :S

encountered freezing 3 times during my 30hr + playthrough. Pressing the PS button or any button for that matter doesn't do a thing. Had to reset the console using the power switch at the back.



These are the instances whereby i encountered the freezing:

1. Once near the start where Shephard meets Jacob and some bald guy.

2. In the middle of Kasumi's loyalty mission

3. While cycling through the armor & outfit lists in Shephard's room in the Normandy



Truly awesome game if it weren't for the occasional framerate issues and horrible freezing instances. Bioware please patch it ASAP

Iam having a freezing problem at the moment. On Tali's recruitment mission, the section the flying geth drones come out and you have to fight 2 Geth Primes. I restarted the system 5 times and loaded last save 5 times and everytime it would always freeze during a certain action i did, movement, reloading. Iam on instantity difficulty and hope *knock on wood* its not a corrupted save. Don't want to restart it 15 hours that i put into it.

I'm having the same problem with the game freezing on Tali's recruitment mission. I've tried a reload about ten times with each load freezing at a different moment. It occurs after I clear a wave of the geth drones. I advance forward to the next cover spot and the game freezes. The audio continues to play as if nothing happened but the screen is frozen as well as use of my controller. I have to do a hard reset switching the power on/off. I haver an early model PS3 CECHH01 if that helps. Please send some kind of patch. Seems like this is a problem for many on this forum.

i got the game frozen except for the audio glitch too... twice during the reaper core and once during Legion's loyalty mission.



all i can tell is that those freezes happened after i reloaded (not restarted) a completed mission... nothing that really bothers me, but i do hope the patch comes out real soon

Well this is really weird, on my 1st playthrough game froze on my once during the final mission, but no corrupted save (thank God!). On my 2nd playthrough as ultimate badass Femshep game froze on my during Kasumi loyalty mission, but still no corrupted save (game froze during cutscene in the elevator - background sound was continuing, but screen froze). I just don't understand it.

mine has frozen mainly while in combat. only a couple times, and once while on normandy.

my main issue is when cutscene happen the audio is out of sync. a gun is showed firing, then you hear the gun firing as your seeing people talking. just doesn't flow.

Yeah, the audio problems are really annoying. I've seen it 4 times now, but that scene on Freedom's progress with the YMIR mech kinda loses its punch when the audio takes place about a second after the action. And I can't count the number of times the audio's just cut out in mid-sentence. At least there's subtitles.



I'm thinking if your game keeps freezing at the exact same spot, but there's no corruption, you should probably get it replaced. There's no indication the patch will solve that issue, but we can only hope.

All right after completing the game once on my normal playthrough with only one freeze, I'm now stuck on Tali's Recruitment mission when the Geth drones attack on my insanity run. It seems the drones spawn infinite here and after I killed a certain number of them the game just freezes. When I touch the PS3 vents its not really hot... I just think that this is too much for the game's engine (like my freeze in the Samara/Morinth battle).
