**EDIT**
I like to add that the code 80028FF22 does not seem to have a meaning.. cant find anyting on Google.
Just found out that error message 80010514 means that my HDrive has a dead sector.. Dont really know what it means but it aint certainly good... Luckily i got insurance. But this is all because of a lousy built game...
http://www.ps3blog.c...0514-explained/
I dont have the energy to try to fix it now.. but ****.. ive been raped by Mass Effect..

Freezing has occurred twice for me so far.
1. Kasumi DLC just when I have used DNA/VOICE and opened the door to the vault, screen froze and I could hear sound progressing, had to reboot and it went fine the second try.
2. Aite - Vulcan Station just after I have hovered cross lava current against the flow and I am to enter the facility on the loading screen it froze, and again reboot needed, then it worked the second time.

It seems that I can go through for an hour sometimes before it starts freezing and other times it only takes a few minutes before it starts to freeze. It also seems like my game freezes the most when I'm on the Normandy.
I've tried all of the remedies others have posted and whenever I feel like one of them works...BAM! it freezes again. I'm really starting to lose hope and it looks like the Bioware rep stopped posting on this board so maybe we're all screwed?
I'm afraid that all these reboots on my PS3 is gonna **** it up eventually

Ive re-downloaded the DLC and the freezing problems seem to surface again if i leave them installed.
Unfortunately it looks like the DLC is unplayable on my end and I'll be throwing away the money I spent on it. Either way that's the last dollar I spend on a BioWare product which is a shame since the game seemed excellent during the portions that don't freeze ( If I was able to get past the choosing game screen without freezing i would have 5 min before it would lock up)

returning physical copies and stores are accepting them and giving them
refunds. Tell me, how do we who downloaded the game get a refund?
You've already got our money and there's nothing to physically return nor is
there a "place" to return it even if we had one. The only thing
we might be able to do is file a dispute of claim with our credit card issuer,
which is a major pain in the nethers.
Luckily for me, the only real predicable area where I freeze is in the armor
selection screen, and that's only some of the time. For those with wonky
saves, a couple of suggestions. First, try working back through your
saves (including the autosaves if you have the game set up to do that.)
One of them may work and it may mean the difference between starting the game
over or just losing a couple hours of play. Second: get in the habit of
having multiple save files if you have the HDD space (and most folks do.)
By alternating which file you save, this works like above...if your most recent
save poops the bed, the one before it may work.
I'm a little scared now...I've gotten to the point where I just got the
remaining dossiers, and the side quests for Miranda and Jacob (presumably to
get them to "loyal" status.) I'd really hate to get much
further and have something happen. Despite the bugs and other flaws, it's
a good game with a great storyline, and I hate to set it down for any length of
time. But it might be better after a patch comes out to fix some of these
problems.

I don't know what's going on with you guys, but i only play games on my system.
I don't play music or movies.
You think this could be why your systems are freezing the game?

I would like to report that the game freezes when I am loading one my save files. I have not been able to play the game since this happened. It just freezes when I am in the loading screen
It means your save data is corrupted. So... you're screwed. I really don't know why it happens. Never experience
something like that, even on Fallout. My ME2 copy runs perfectly.
So do you think that with my freezing during the load screen to the engineering bay may be a corrupted save? cause i have 2 diff saves goin, 1. From before the cerberus network downloads were up, and 2. after the DLC codes worked and i got the motion comic. And both of those games freeze when trying to load the engineering deck. thats the only time i have a problem.

Ok nevermind....idk what the issue is...i deleted my previous saves (after backing them up) and still cant get to the engineering deck, just freezes on the load screen. Ive reinstalled the game a couple times, ive disconnected from the net in every way possible.......alas the engineering deck does not want to be visited...... : /
Yeah, bummer... I really don't know why you're game screws up on THIS specific place and why mine runs perfectly. If you still can, you can try exchanging the game for another copy. I've seen some people report that a new copy of the game ran better. Not always but sometimes. If you can't don't bother.
I've seen another trick to avoid corrupted data. You've got to clear you data cache or something like that. I don't remember how but you can get the info on google.

SO do i cancel my order or what? when fix is coming?
I don't know, my copy is working perfectly.
I didn't get any of the bugs mentioned in this post so far, except for the sound bugs, which happened like... 2 times in 40 hours of play.
3 freezes in 9-10 hours isn't the end of the world. Jeez, that's what I use to get in an hour playing fallout.

Bioware please fix. I have a 250GB slim and ME2 have frozen 3 times during 9-10 hours of play. Also a lot of bugs, for example during an early cutscene some sounds just vanished. This ridiculous. And i cant find the comic either. Im disapointed.
Comon men it was mentioned in many posts before, the comic IS NOT on disc, it is with the Cerberus package download which you can get FREE with the code in your game case.
3 Freeze in 9-10 hours is nothing in comparison to what I use to get with Fallout or Oblivion.
Don't forget that this is Bioware's second game on the console. Don't expect perfection just yet. Some producers have been releasing game on PS3 for 5 years and they still can't get it right (ACTIVISION!... hmm sorry)
As for me no problem whatsoever.
Try turning off auto save, your internet, uninstalling reinstalling the game data, freeing some place on your hard drive. This could help.

I agree on the freezing part it happened to me once in 13+ hours which is nothing really after about 400 hours played in fallout 3/new vegas im used to freezing im just worried about the corrupt saves, im avoiding lair of the shadow broker but I really hope anything that can corrupt a save like that gets fixed soon

Serious? 3 freezes is a lot in 10 hours.
And some guy on youtube got 3 in a row. It is quite ****ty and you shouldnt accept it at all.
Its annoying, causes problems and frustration and is not healthy for the hardware i know im on my 2nd ps3.
If you are just going to accept bugs and **** like that then devs wont bother fix their games and they will continue to be ****.
I got no other game that have as much problems as ME 2.
0ver 20 Ps3 titles, 4 360 titles and a handfull of pc games.
But thanks for the comic update, i have the cerberus installed but the comic is nowhere to be seen still. Where do I find it?

It's a stunningly good game though, it's not the end of the world as long as you keep 5 or 6 rollling game saves, and save every 15 minutes or so - that way you can't lose much, even though it's a bit annoying that it was missed in testing.
On the bright side, it's nowhere near the buggy mess that Fallout New Vegas is. Apart from the occasional freeze, everything else in the game seems to function correctly.
I'm not giving up on Bioware, even though the freezing should have been fixed, the game itself is fabulous. I've not had any corrupt saves, but I always make sure when I am saving that I stand still and wait for the save to finish, rather than running around and putting load on the cpu (just incase that increase the odds of a corrupt save file)
