[Whitewash]

I agree the game is fabulous, but I cant stand freezes and there are some bugs and stuff thats ruining the smoothness and immersion.

Ive lost about half the sounds in the middle of a cutscene, the one when you are doing research on a human colony and meets ... forgot her name Im all new to mass effect but her race all have masks on and this dude you are looking for is badly traumatized.

So a good patch would make me happy.
And could someone tell me how I launch the Interactive comic?
I was told in this thread it came with the cerberus pack, but I dont know how to launch it.

whitewash I totally aggree with you on bioware commenting on this matter.the should come out with a patch or something.game developers need to keep in mind what a crushing blow bugs and glicthes and freezing issues have in the over all experience of the game you wanna make us happy take your time in trouble shooting the game so that you guys can deliver the best possible product and experience to the consumer who work hard to pay for their games. I currently owned a 40 gig ps3 its in mint condition and gladly the only game i had problems with was F.E.A.R 1 and ARAGONS quest which froze on me only once but by far the best running game ive played on the system has to be DEAD SPACE which ive finished 3 times and i never experienced a single thing.

It should automatically trigger after your Shepard have been sucked out into space after Normandy SR-1 have exploded, and you fall towards the planet during the introsequence/gameplay.

plenty of freezes during game play.. the most frustrating freeze was the battle against the collectors in the human colony of Horizon

And some guy on youtube got 3 in a row. It is quite ****ty and you shouldnt accept it at all.

Its annoying, causes problems and frustration and is not healthy for the hardware i know im on my 2nd ps3.
If you are just going to accept bugs and **** like that then devs wont bother fix their games and they will continue to be ****.
I got no other game that have as much problems as ME 2.
0ver 20 Ps3 titles, 4 360 titles and a handfull of pc games.


But thanks for the comic update, i have the cerberus installed but the comic is nowhere to be seen still. Where do I find it?

Just play the game and its gonna start after the intro.

Yeah I have the Cerberus package installed day one, I did Lair of the Shadow broker and Kasumi without trouble.

ya my roommate has that package and the one for the guns like that assualt rifle and his works fine but i seems when i delete my dlc which i have all of them it seems to stop freezing i has gotten to the point where i cant do anything anymore im stuck on a planet driving me nuts i have talked to so many ea tech supports agents and all there suggestions were just temp. fixes

I've been twittering the link to this thread to members of the PS3 editorial team at IGN in hopes that they can get the word out. I'm still having issues with freezing when trying to bypass wall safes and required mission doors. Why would they make it so you need to bypass a required door to get to the next portion of the quest?

Mine runs like a beauty. Only 2 more spots to fill in my team. Only 2 or 3 slight freezes in 20 hours

Edit: 120 gig slim, if anyone wants to know.

Yeah I tweeted the IGN, Giantbomb, and 1up editors.  Hopefully, they will mention it on Beyond or Gamescoop so that there is pressure to get it fixed quickly.  The bugs in my game are some of the worst I have seen.  I feel like I'm playing a Bethesda game.

Finally, I got the error again yesterday and started to record it.
Mine is a little bit different than what the rest posted.
I was lucky to encounter the 2 errors simultaneously in this video.



However, the moment I stopped recording, a third error occurred.
Immediately after this video and finishing the dialogue, the moment I opened the 'Start' menu, and choosing the top option to read on the mission objective, pressing the execute button, 'O', does not allow me to view the information inside and pressing cancel, 'X' button, immediately freezes the game.  Pressing the XMB button will give no response and I'll have to press on the PS3 power button to quit the game.

it happens to me every time the normandy crashes on the collector base. after joker says they may not know we're here, the screen goes back and i have to restart my console

I have downloaded  the dlc and it worked fine

Game has hard frozen (requiring manual restart) between two or three times a night since purchase.  Graphical issues at 'Overlord' (extremely low-resolution textures, poor to absent collision detection) are frequent; elsewhere, general texture pop-in and other minor issues are occasional.  Issue with audio desynch in cutscenes others have mentioned is present, if infrequent.

Game's predilection toward hard freezes was met with very frequent saving (around 275).

I was about 32 hours into the game and I was on the loading screen right after you hop in the sky car in the shadow broker mission.

The load screen locked up, the music was still playing and everything but nothing happened. I was about 5 mins and then restarted my system. The save file was corrupted and I was only presented with the option to start a new game.

This happened to me exactly as described.  Thirty-four hours of gameplay eliminated.

Don't you have multiple rolling saves? Isn't that asking for trouble?

Unfortunately, the way the game saves is different than the usual PS3 games.
It saves the save in only 1 PS3 save.

LoL!  Confusing. But do you understand that? xD
Basically, we may have multiple saves of the game.
But when you go to your PS3 save, there are only 2 saves.
1 is your profile, the other is your latest save which I suspect might contain all of the saves in the game.

And considering that this is a long game, making that move is indeed stupid. As you can see with the people who have played over 34 hours of gameplay losing everything just because of a corrupted save. Ouch!

Yeah this is something I think BioWare has to look into, aside the other issues, first of all you can't backup the Progress Savefile because its copyprotected and can't be backedup to an USB drive/stick.

So they need to either (or both) remove the copyprotection and split up the saves from 1 big chunk to multiple progress save files.

Because this IS an accident waiting to happen, this is why I have stopped playing at a location I know the saves are working, and awaits a fix to all the issues at hand.

Would it help to switch off autosave and only save manually whilst standing still in a quiet area? Just thinking that the cause of save game corruption might be a freeze during an autosave? The only time I have had a freeze (3 so far) is during movement or combat.



Tonight, I'll switch off autosave and just try manual saves when I feel confident the PS3 isn't about to freeze up...at the least it might reduce the odds of getting a corrupted save, which is a far worse scenario than just the occasional freeze with no long term consequence.



Come on Bioware, lets hear when a patch is coming?
