Whe using barrier parts of Shepard become transparrent, I assume these were supposed to be highlight blue. Most of his model is ther, but parts of his head, chest and legs simply disappear.

I am playng on:

2.6 Core i7 (4 cores)
Gefore 275 GTX with 1gb ram
4gb ram
Windows 7 64 bit
External usb Tascam soundcard (us-144)
Direct x version: 11
and this is a steam version of the game

To be specific, the game runs fine and as far as I can tell all of the textures are fine, However when shepard or any team memember use barrier, the Vangaurd skill, the blue ting begins to shine off their character model, but part of their character model also disappears. This dissappearance is fluid, it moves as the visible blue tinge moves with it. It only last as long as barrier is enabled. This hapens anywhere where I can enable barrier.

Things I have tried so far:
I downgraded to pre-200 version nvidia drivers (197 as suggested elsewhere.)
Now I have updated to the latest nvidia drivers (266.58)
I have cycled on and off Vsync, Particle effects, and Texture filtering options.
I have checked file integrity through Steam
I have the game patched to the most recent release
I have tried running in xp service pack 3 compat mode.

none of these things have worked so far.

Any help would be great thanks!

Edited for additional details.

You have only given use some of the nifo we need to help. Read the "how to report a problem thread" to find out what we need.

http://social.biowar...1/index/2012975

Also, nVidia drivers are currently listed as 260.99, where did you get the 197 number from?

I have the current drivers, but before I posted I did some searching to see if this issue was common, or at least mentioned before. A few pieople had posted in other threads about issues with textures and a couple posters responded saying downgrading nvidia drivers to pre 200 fixed most of the problems.

The first thing to try would be to install DirectX9.0c, as this is the version the game specifically requires. DX11 is not backwards compatible enough for ME1. It -should- have been included with the Steam install, but I dont trust Steam as far as a trebuchet could throw them.

As a side note, EA does not officially support ME1 and Win7 (any version). Win7 came out after ME1 was made, and is not listed nuder supported OS's for the game. (XP/Vista only)

I've gotten this issue too, with a Radeon HD 4770, using several different sets of drivers under XP and 10.12 under Windows 7. I'm pretty sure it's just how ME1 works, at least on PC, unless someone posts that Barrier doesn't look this way for them.

Can't tell you whether it's a bug or intended, but I don't think you're going to fix it.

Yeah there's no fix. I have played ME1 before i upgraded to Windows 7 64bit and thsi was not an issue. So it's some kind of strange bug.
