I don't have the comic but from what I read on the wiki site. It just sounds like he got zapped by the Reaper tech and took some eye damage as a result. And had the eye implants because of that.

Or did they just turn magically blue after being zapped?

Could someone who read the comic please clarify it?

Basically the reaper tech turned his eyes cybernetic. Which makes perfect sense when you consider how all the husks were created in 2 without the dragons teeth. The tech just transforms your body.

I think you mean issues, not volumes. And the whole eye thing is somewhat speculative since it isn't entirely clear but it might be confirmed in issue #2.

Yep, gotta say this is like the 3rd or 4th comic series now and they're all pretty much terrible in the artwork stakes. In fact to be honest they're pretty terrible, period.

So TIM has his blue eyes due to being affected by Reaper tech.

And since Shepard have the same eyes like TIM (only visible if renegade)... Shepard must obviously have been implanted with Reaper tech.
