Corrupted Save

In any event, just want to voice my frustration along with others over this glitch and disappointment that 1.) Bioware missed this in quality control 2.) Bioware didnt find a way to communicate in-game to gamers that their saves were at risk 3.) it has taken SCEA this long to approve a patch that was supposedly released 2 weeks ago.
This will affect my decision to buy another Bioware game - as great as the games are this is a truly monumental gaffe. A goodwill effort by Bioware (i.e. $ credit towards a future game purchase) for those affected by this would go a long way toward building back consumer loyalty. I dont have lots of gaming time so what I do have is precious and I am really let down that I pissed away so much time to have to start over (or give up on the game altogther).

Bioware, i loved Mass Effect 2, and i can't express how frustrated i am with this. As i said i have very little free time and i was really putting effort in this, **** my 1st playthrough and i was on veteran!
I'm incredibly disappointed. I know sometimes things like this happens but...seriously. I was stunned by ME2, telling all my friend how this is awesome game and now i'm not sure if i will play it again. Right now i just wan't to sell it and buy something else, because even if i start again it won't be the same thing, i will have to do literally everything again.
I just hope this serves as a big lesson, the save mechanics are wrong (i had 10+ saves) and it ddnt helped me.
I'm feel very sorry for everyone that experienced this, i was totally into this game and now i have zero will to play it.
Sorry for the gramatical errors.
Rox Shepard, out.

class action suit - sue for pain & suffering/collateral damage. sure, they might fix the game and any future buyers of the game will get to enjoy it, but those of us that have wasted good portions of our daily lives just to have it chewed up and spit out as corrupt data - that kind of damage can't be undone. anyone know a lawyer?

gang, i have a good solution to the matter. there are enough of us that, combined, have put hundreds if not thousands of hours into this game, only to have our time spent destroyed by this bug.

I cant tell if youre joking or not... but Im pretty sure you arent.
Id agree with you if they werent going to fix the bug, but they are. And I do agree that Bioware needs to give me something back for the 30 hours of my life they took. But I was thinking along the lines of some free DLC, I think suing is going a bit too far.
I understand where you are coming from though, but I dont think I would be able to sue the makers of such a great game, I just hope the developers learn from this experience and this never happens again.

For my part, I´m not angry, I´m just sad. I love the game but this definetly is a game-breaker. How can you implement a save-system like this in 2011? In DAO my save got corrupted that one time, but hey: back to Auto-Save - no problem.
So here´s some information:
1> where the crash occurred that caused the save to become corrupt (ie loading from Horrizon to the Normandy or Right after the fight with the Yahg):
Like for most, it happened right before the Speeder-chase in the Shadow-Broker-Mission
2> How many levels in a row you played beforehand (Ie you played through the prologue through to Horizon in a single sitting):
Don´t remember exactly, maybe 2 or 3
3> How long you were playing concurrently beforehand (ie you had the game running for 40 hours straight without rebooting the console):
About 4 hours
Additional info:
My corrupted save-game also says "A0006"
Been in the game 30+ hours, just want to know if the patch´ll do anything to the corrupted file, or if I´ve to restart from my 15-hours-save, which I made by pure coincidence.

Well Jesse Houstan add me to the list of people who just experienced this and learned about it for the 1st time after 35+ hours of game play a crash then a corrupt save file. I had 4 game saves but the fact they where all stored in the same block on my PS3 means I'm screwed.
1 - My crash occured loading from the Normandy down to a planet ( cant remeber which ) but it was porably one of the side charcter quests. I think it was Grunts loyalty quest.
2 - I play only a few hours a day and not everyday because I have a busy life and not an enormous amount of play time.
3 - I had been playing maybe 3 hours or less that day
Now I have my own question:
- Will this patch of yours fix the corrupted game save.

Glad it was not my main file.
I cried, though. ;-;
Oh, but let me be helpful.
The game froze while loading.
I was in Ilium, and the loading was due to Thane's recruitment mission.
I played nonstop, from the prologue to this mission.
So i restarted my PS3, and there: corrupted file.
I tried getting it back through the safe mode, but couldn't.
And I tried three times.
Also, I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but.
I imported my Shepard from another ME2 save file.
I remember having more fuel and probes than my Normandy was capable of.
Maybe that ended up screwing up my save file?

I'm very upset right now as I just got ****blocked by the corrupted save file... This is my second play through and I was using a New Game + File... Please fix this I love this game and even though I'm pretty distraught right now I'm still going to start another game up... I really don't want this happening again so I guess I"ll be rebooting often and backing up my save files.. and here I thought I was being clever this time around with my multiple save file... *sigh*
Specifically if you can say:
1> where the crash occurred
that caused the save to become corrupt (ie loading from Horrizon to the
Normandy or Right after the fight with the Yahg) Just after speaking to Seryena about Thane about to go to the buildings.
2> How many levels in a row you played beforehand (Ie you played through the prologue through to Horizon in a single sitting) Derelict reaper to starting of thanes mission with no subquests inbetween.
3>
How long you were playing concurrently beforehand (ie you had the game
running for 40 hours straight without rebooting the console)
I believe it was about 6 hours?
Oh and I had about just over 20 hours of game play..

Specifically if you can say:
1> where the crash occurred that caused the save to become corrupt:
Right before fighting the Thresher Maw during Grunt's loyalty quest.
2> How many levels in a row you played beforehand:
None, I had fought the Klixen. That's it; I loaded a save file from my last time playing where I had saved during the Rite of Passage quest, right after the Varren wave. Started up, hit the keystone and fought the Crawlers. Hit it again, game froze during auto-save.
3> How long you were playing concurrently beforehand
Approx. 15 minutes?? >_<

2. I don't remember exactly, perhaps 2 with some probing missions.
3. I was probably playing between an hour to two hours. I had played once more duing the day for about the same amount of time but I let the console rest a good 5-6 hours.
Hope this helps!

When I turned my PS3 on again this morning, I got as far as the Title page, and then it's frozen. I can't resume, play a new mission, load a save, or even connect to the EA server.
My total gameplay was about 40 hours, but I had only played about 60 minutes when I shut the system down yesterday evening.
My controller works fine, I can load and run my other PS3 games.
Do I need to completely uninstall the game, reinstall it and start over? B/C I'd rather not do that....
