Played 60 hours, finished all loyalty missions, all planets depleted of resources, all characters except the geth, and when I get to shadow broker car chase boom, my 20th or so lock up and when I go back to it...my data is corrupt.
The game is great and all, but is it so difficult to put save files in separate files?
To those who say why you need more than 1 save file on an rpg...
1. times like these
2. if you miss something you can just go back to the previous save
3. if games have multiple endings with differing requirements you make multiple saves...games like Atelier Rorona require something like this.
I usually have 99 saves for almost all my games, even non rpg games.
Whenever I play games, I always max out the different saves limit. Sometimes I have to reload an older save because either I missed something earlier, don't like the path I took (for multi paths choices in the story), or sometimes I forgot where I saw certain item and need a quick way to figure out where it was than trying to backtrack until I find it again.
Of course, able to save in a different file is a huge plus not only to protect file corruption, but also to individually backup only certain saves that I care assuming the saved game file isn't console locked.
As for console locked saved game file, I thought game developers/publishers have finally learned that gamers hate it not able to quickly backup the file. Sure, locking the saved game file slows down hackers but hackers will hack it no matter how it's locked. It's the honest gamers that have to deal with file corruption and lost their long game process.
Simple question to the game developers/publishers, do you even care if the gamer looses 50-100 hours of RPG game process because they can't easily backup the saved game file? By the time I completed everything in Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition, I have put 100 hours into the game progress. Every saved game file in DA: O is console locked.
Having to backup the entire hard drive isn't a practical solution for those with larger 500+GB hard drive that is filled up with data. Do you know how long to backup and restore 500GB of data just for a few MB of console locked saved game file? Also, full hard drive backup is useless if you have to replace your PS3 console.
