I'm not familiar with the specifics of the treaty in question but once you sign a document presented to you by others you are accepting their truth, not yours.

Honour an agreement with a race that knows not the Qun and therefore knows not honour or reason. We simply withdrew from war to study our strategies, tactics and their failure and to send out emissaries who might learn of the humans and their weaknesses, how does a scribble of ink on a page mean we give our word or honour some agreement it never has in the Qun.

Do not judge us as you do yourselves unbeliever for you are lost in the darkness of ignorance while we bask in the enlightenment of the Qun.

To be fair, Dragon Age is set in a High middle-age setting. A time when peace treaties were nothing more than just prolong cease-fires. Each nation would be lying to themselves if they didn't expect invasion in the future.

It was 7:84 when the Llomerryn Accord was signed. Different monarchs, different commanders, and different politics. Times change and once again, they'll be different monarchs, different commanders, and different politics.

I'm not defending the Qunari for invading Kirkwall. I am defending Sten as he is hardly a liar, and it's unfair that if you brand him a liar so is his entire race. Human, Dwarfs and Elves all lie in Thedas so does that make their races liars?

But of course they failed to inform the other parties of this at the time correct?  A convenient way of getting round the restrictions of what was signed.   Also a sure way to 100% ensure no one believes a thing you say from there after.

Ah, the faithful mouth piece of the Tarashok.  You have proven conclusively by your actions and your deeds that the words coming out of your mouths and the words you write on paper have no meaning to any but the Qun.  That much we have learned from this.  For that reason you cannot be trusted, you cannot be communicated with and your words should be treated with suspicion and scorn.  We have learned a valuable lesson from this and if war erupts again we shall teach the Qun a lesson they shall not forget.

Who cares if you're wrong or right. There are thousands of interpretations that can be made from what little information we currently have. Obviously Gaider and the rest of the devs don't want to outright spoil the entire story just to prove their/your points.

It could just as easily be some Qunari extremist group who has split off from the rest of the Qunari to kill as many humans as they can, because they don't like them. Maybe we'll meet Sten again, and he'll help you fight these extremist Qunari.

And then again... maybe not. We'll just have to wait and see when the game comes out.

If the Qunari are really invading Kirkwall though... Regardless of the Qunari Philosophy. The rest of Thedas will view it as a breaking of the accord and the Qunari will be known.. As LIARS never to be trusted.. No further treaty will be made and they will be eradicated from existance regardless of the cost of lives due to possibly almost costing the Templars their power in the east... and they like their power in the east
