Since there's zero chance of people confusing the two characters, and when they actually are in the same piece of fiction, they don't have the same name...it doesn't matter. 

Also:  that's pretty much a made-up "rule".  Characters have the same name in fiction all the time.

In so far as male turians finding other females in species attractive, we also know that there is at least one male turian who finds male humans attractive, Gavorn if you recall.



I was always under the impression that turians probably couldn't tell human sexes apart very well. I mean listen to the 'funny bumps' dialogue. He doesn't recognize Fshep as female because of her .. facial features or stature, he basically looks at her breasts and goes "oh this means she's female?" If he saw a flat chested woman he'd be clueless or assume she was male. Much in the same way that if we saw a turian with a fringe we might go "Wait.. that'd a dude then?" It could be something that varies between individuals, some females having no fringes, some having shorter fringes.

Thats just it, there was no real point to put a romance with a cricket in the game. And why does it always have to come down to sex? if you need to bump uglies, as you so put it, why do you risk your life to grind against a scaly carapace? Just doesn't make any sense to me...

Edit: And I have nothing against Turians, or Garrus, but this whole boinking a bug thing is soooo far left on the ridiculous meter, it's beyond understanding.

Attitudes like this are what got the Liara thread shut down in the first place. The Liara Thread's OP says that bashing other characters is not cool, so what, you come to other threads and do it instead? 

As far as the fringe thing goes. I dunno, I completely forgot about the bachelor's party.  I figured Garrus' line mix up might have just been him obfuscating and trying to.. compliment Shepard in a turian manner (even if it didn't make much sense) like the supportive waist bit.  But I can't really see how the bachelor party turian fits in.  He says that there aren't many turian women around, and so not to ruin the asari for him because the fringe looks similar to a female turians.

Back on track here,
The point is this is a case of bad biology.

Turians need the exoskeleton plating to protect themselves from the extra radiation of their sun. If a "female" turian lacks the actual needed plating for protection (in this case the fringe and neck plates) ... then how the hell did the species survive to to be what they are? Long term exposure to radiation destroys the DNA and makes perpetuating the species a little hard.

I think maybe the writer gave the artist an idea... and that is what they came up with.
This has not been stated as canon, so i think it is just some DH artists idea of what "could" be a female turian.

I still say it's a mutated male turian.... >_>

But Liara's scalp is very turian-esque, wouldn't you say? Also, Liara can "meld," which is definetly not "human."

Yes, it is. They obviously have no understanding that Garrus is avian, not a "bug," and why does his appearance matter? Appearances are superficial, even in humans. I play as manshep, so obviouisly I don't romance Garrus, but he isn't ugly, he just doesn't look like a human. If you truly care about somebody, appearances shouldn't matter.

Absolutely, but it still makes no sense to have the entire head uncovered like that.
